Things must be going downhill for this location. I went through drive thru and ordered a venti coconut latte with stevia and a bacon sausage wrap. Not once but twice they screwed up the order. Instead of the wrap, I got grilled cheese. I was able to park exchange it and the guy gave me my order. Nope, another wrong order and didn't figure it out until I was down the street. Went back again and picked up the right order but waited 5 minutes for it. Then I get to work and realize they completely botched my drink order. I frequent lots of Starbucks and I have encountered the worst service and attitudes at this location by far. One time a worker accused me of stealing a coffee when I in fact ordered it. She was brutal about it. Other times they put my coffee in a paper cup even though I ordered a personal cup. When I told her the whole point of requesting a personal cup is to save a cup, and that at every other Starbucks , they put it in a glass container, she was visibly annoyed with me even though I said it nicely. read more

I went through the drive-through yesterday for an afternoon coffee. This location seems to always make my drink so delicious! It just hits different when I order drinks from the Grand/Forest Park location. I always order a grande vanilla sweet cream cold brew with 1 pump of white mocha syrup. This location's baristas always make the perfect balance of sweetness and cold brew coffee flavor. The staff is always super friendly as well! The guy who took my order (I didn't get a look at his name) is very friendly and complimented my outfit when I pulled up to the window! I love this location, it's the old Del Taco so the structure is super cool. The inside is nice and roomy plus the outdoor seating is covered with the space-like roof. There is lots of cool location art on the wall along the (locked) restroom area. I always appreciate a locked/coded restroom because it assures a certain level of cleanliness. This S. Grand area can be a bit infested if you catch my drift. The service is great. They always make my coffee just the way I ask and don't give me attitude when I request a pour-over brew (which is a little inconvenient if you're a busy barista) but hey....I like what I like, and I pay dearly for it $$$ Located right next door to Chipolte; who's chips I am addicted to is the only downfall, whenever I go to this location for my coffee I almost feel obligated to grab a bag of chips before heading to the car :-( read more

I have a Starbucks gift card in my possession. I went to use the gift card this morning at this location in the drive thru. I ordered a cup of tea and an order of egg bites. When I reached the window I handed the woman my card. She said she couldn't scan it and do I have it on the phone app? No, I don't. I have it in my hand. She said she couldn't use it so I drove away without paying or getting my order because I was so infuriated she wouldn't enter the card manually. When I got to work annoyed and hangry without breakfast I pulled out my phone and entered the card into the app and the full balance was on the card. One thing in particular that I do appreciate about Starbucks is how tailored each individual store is to the location the store is located - this location just so happens to be located in the heart of SLU campus and is a pain to get in and out off in a jiff. Parking: Let's just say you may have a better chance finding a needle in a haystack verse finding a parking spot. Neighboring the Saint Louis University campus area, this Starbucks can become very busy at certain hours of the day. Students flocking in for their caffeine fix and plopping down with their Mac Books. That being said, I wouldn't count on every visit being a breeze. You may end up waiting a little longer than had you choose a different location. There's not a vast amount of parking available for the Starbucks in particular. In fact, there's barely any. You may need to end up parking in one of the neighboring lots, and turn an eye to the signs informing you not to park there. Hey, sometimes the rules need to be broken in the name of a latte. I love this Starbucks location! It's definitely roomier than most, with plenty of varied seating options in close proximity to outlets or with outlets built in to the furniture itself. There's also plenty of "group seating" that would enable larger groups the space to work, study or meet. Service is always fast and professional, and in the 10-12 times I've been here, I have only ever had positive experiences. The space is super clean and shelving is all well organized. I can tell that the management and employees take pride in keeping their location in beautiful condition. The walls are decorated with St. Louis themed memorabilia and the lighting fixtures are super fun. I really like the way they worked with the unique building space to create an open, welcoming vibe. This is also one of the few Starbucks locations in the area that stays open till 10pm, so if you are in need of a late night study spot, this is it! read more

There are 2 community tables, some counter space, some random chairs around the sides, and only 2 small private tables. Lots of light from the huge windows all around the building. They're so friendly at this location and up until lately my drinks have been great. But the past two times I've ordered a hot caramel macchiato they've forgotten to put in the vanilla syrup. I put some sugar in it when I got home and it was ok, but I should t have to pay $7 for a drink that's made Incorrectly. They did fix it, but the second drink I got was still wrong and I didn't have the heart to throw another one away. read more

I don't go to the Starbucks very often but stopped by a couple times this week when i was in the area. I was able to order and move through the line pretty quickly during the morning rush around 7:30am. I ordered my favorite drink an iced caramel brulee latte and was devastated that they were out of that flavor! They offered me a toasted white chocolate mocha which i don't like white chocolate but i appreciated the suggestion. They had pumpkin which i settled on which was made well. This location never understands how to make drinks with any other milk other than dairy.. they get confused and just put dairy in it anyways... for the pumpkin cold cream all you need to do is add the cold brewed coffee, the vanilla sweetener and then foam almond milk.. you do not need to add dairy at all. This is my favorite Sbux in town. They are always friendly, and the drinks are well-made. The parking lot can be a little treacherous when they're busy...today I parked in front of Snarf's (they weren't open yet) and walked across the drive through line. Saved myself 20 minutes by getting out of the car and walking my happy a$$ into the building instead - just sit in your cars, people, it makes it that much faster for me. Found out the GM is making this location an Allergy Friendly Store!!! For those of us allergic to nuts (some drink flavorings contain nuts), cross-contamination can be deadly. This Allergy Friendly news is wonderful to hear! I wish all Starbucks did this! We got a drink for my Mother, who is allergic to coffee (I know, so sad). They made her a wonderful Raspberry & Carmel Hot Chocolate! No cross-contamination at all! Very happy! Also got a few other drinks also. They forgot one ingredient in one drink. They remade it correctly! Did have a small problem with an employee who tried to tell us we didn't know what we were talking about regarding ristretto. Love the location and the design of this place. But ... The service is the worst that I've ever experienced at a Starbucks. One friend shares on Facebook the following: "The female morning manager is an idiot, and rude on top of it all. I'll drive to the CWE to avoid this place. Glad I'm not alone in thinking this place is a cluster." The place is gaining a bad reputation with people who would be very loyal to the store because of the history of the locatin. I first tried this Starbucks because of how cool it looked. Bad idea. Every day, I order my Starbucks oatmeal without it being re-packaged in the wasteful paper bag. On my first trip to the Spaceship, I ordered as usual. When my order -- bagged -- was delivered to me by an irritated-looking woman, I pulled the oatmeal and fruit out and said "I don't need this bag. Will you reuse it?" She snatched the bag from my hand, scowled at me, held the bag up in front of my face and crumpled it into a ball. I said "Wait! I'll recycle that!", but she smirked and threw it into the trash as if to say "screw you, asshat." The overwrought drama and hatred in her reaction freaked me out -- what kind of employee acts like that to a customer?? That's when I saw the title "Manager" on her name badge. I've been back to the Spaceship when the lines at the awesome, friendly Starbucks (in the CWE or at 55 and Loughborough) are too long. But the Spaceship team is always sour and surly, disorganized (too many people behind the counter, but no one doing anything), and the orders nearly always fubar in some way. This is certainly the coolest looking Starbucks in St. Louis. But it seems to be managed (during morning hours, at least) very, very poorly. read more
