Writing a review on Starbucks in general seems a bit useless- we all know it and have our own opinions of it. This location specifically stands out because it has transformed a landmark building from a useless eyesore into a gorgeous, functioning gem. A gem which provides tasty caffeine!!! I am sad to say that my first experience here was not a good one. I got a ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was still frozen on the inside. I realize they don't have a kitchen there, but it was an unwelcome reminder that its basically the same thing as a microwave breakfast sandwich from the grocery store. Ew. I'll still go there for my caffeine fix. A lot. read more

Love the feel of this Starbucks. Nice layout with ample room for reading, studying, meeting, etc. There is kind of a community area with comfy chairs as well as a big round table in the center conducive to larger groups. The aesthetic is a little more industrial, which is kind of cool. And finally, a convenient Starbucks location in midtown/downtown/SLU! So nice. And yes, there is a drive thru. read more

Wonderful Starbucks that uses the old gas station turned del taco space wisely. They have a great selection of coffees here including the new rare/exquisite line. I was able to buy a bag of Jamaica Blue Mountain ($30 for 1/2lb) and was thoroughly impressed by how bold and inviting the beans were. The layout of the location is unique as well. Less outlets so there aren't too many stragglers. There are a couple larger center tables that multiple students can sit at, but I believe they are meant for more of a social gathering type atmosphere than a study atmosphere. This Starbucks also features the Clover brewing system which is a technologically advanced system that seeks to brew coffee at the perfect temperature for the perfect amount of time. I tried it (it costs about 50 cents more), but I did not taste an immediate difference. Maybe I should have bought a normal coffee to do a taste test? read more

Normal starbucks just located in roswell, new mexico. Maybe area 51? Not too far from Slu's campus it is under the UFO looking thing. I keep my eyes peeled for Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones to stop a bug from taking off with the galaxy. They have a drive thru. I would have expected some kind of delivery system, but maybe it costs too much to fly that saucer? Some people need their fix at starbucks every day. I don't know if I'd trust little green men with my brain chemistry or risk prolonged contact with the unknown. Proceed... with... caution! read more

Drive thru line can get really long, but they move pretty fast. Surprisingly easy to pull in and out of the parking lot (if you're making a right on Grand, that is). Drinks are inconsistent - why isn't me venti latte filled up all the way? why do sometimes I get that little green spill locker and sometimes I don't? Haven't been inside (yet) but the pictures I've seen look pretty cool. read more

Hellooooo new, conveniently placed Starbucks. Fellow SLUdents and I have been waiting for you for quite some time. First perk: they kept the Del Taco building, I just love it, it looks like a spaceship. Second perk: There is a drive-thru and they made it accessible to the shoulder going on to 64 so you don't have to wait at the stoplights just to get back out. Third perk: The interior. So cool. The big "Saint Louis" light up logo, the all recycled wood surfaces and industrial metals with the Starbucks Reserve section is sharp. The seating is great: some high top tables, and tables facing the all open window view. In a wrap up: it looks spiffy. And lastly the fourth perk: The service was stellar today. I know it is only the second day but every worker was smiling, working hard, and not complaining. Even when it was jam packed (and it definitely was) this morning at 9 AM they were bustling about but not snapping at each other while they navigated the Starbucks station. I like the atmosphere, the staff, the accessibility and, oh yea, the pumpkin spiced latte. I'm a happy camper. read more

Definitely not your normal, everyday Starbucks. This is unidenified flying coffee experience! Even the interior looks different. I'm not sure what it's like in their drive thru, because when I make the drive out here, I have to go inside and sit for awhile. The ambiance is perfect. There's tons of room for the students from SLU & surrounding universities to come and study and...*drum roll* THEY HAVE A CLOVER. Oh my goodness, when this store opened with a Clover -- I literally screamed. It is the best tasting brewed coffee you will ever have. Unfortunately, that is reflected in the price. Around $3-ish for a tall? Kind of makes you feel bad when you put your creamer in. read more

It's a Starbucks in a really neat building! I love how Starbucks has re-claimed this space and made it usable again. The major downsides are that it's very busy and the drive through is incredibly slow. Major upside is that this building is a two-fer and you can get Chipotle next door. read more

On mobile order you can ask for other roasts besides Pike -- for instance, blonde. Blonde roast is available past the morning hours via a pour-over. This store often makes a blonde americano instead. I get that it's easier to make a blonde americano than a blonde pour-over, but that's not what I asked for. What I'm now drinking tastes like nothing. I was on my way on a trip, so I couldn't ask for a remake, as I have before. Don't do stupid substitutions -- an americano is not at all the same thing as a cup of roasted coffee! read more

This is a great Starbucks location! Different seating options (sofa, tables, bar stools), Clover brewing for signature "Starbucks Reserve" coffee from around the world, free wifi and a drive-thru. On top of that, nearby eating options make this the perfect place to sit down and have a drink after your meal (if you don't want to eat at Starbucks, that is). Definitely recommended. Oh, and since they brew Starbucks Reserve, they also have reserve coffee bags for purchase. read more

I keep trying the drive-through but so far I have only ever received an incorrect drink order (it has been 5+ times now). I am not sure why this is I have never had a consistent problem at any starbucks and they don't' even offer to correct it either. That being said, this is just one of those starbucks that don't know how to handle the rush and if its not too busy and you go inside they are friendly and nice and get your drink right...just stay away from the drive-through! I keep thinking it might get better and try every once in awhile but it has literally been a bad experience every time. read more

I have been to this Starbucks about five times. Each time I've been here it has been an extremely frustrating experience. I tend to go through the drive-thru because I am a graduate student and I am always in a hurry to get to my next place. However, whenever I am in the drive-thru there is always an excessively long line and the drinks always take a long time to make. Obviously, the person who frequents the drive-thru tends to be in a hurry. But, instead of making my drink quickly and efficiently it has been made incorrectly about ninety percent of the time and takes about ten times longer than it should. The first time it happened, I thought it's just the drink, it's semi-complicated, I get it. The next time I chose something as basic as a Iced Caramel Macchiato. It looked like the correct item so I was thrilled, but it tasted awful and still took ten minutes to receive it. I know how tough working in the service industry is, I work it in, but when I timidly asked them if they could remake my drink or brought attention to the fact it wasn't what I ordered they failed to take responsibility for the matter and made me feel horrible for bringing attention to it. Customer service should be high on the priority list for a well-known coffee place, but instead it was more than lacking. I vowed this morning that I will no longer be frequenting to this location. Save your money and go to the Central West End location, they always have a good attitude and they are coffee connoisseurs. read more

Every time I visit this location I end up waiting anywhere from 10-15 minutes to get my coffee in the drive through. Given the fact that this is the only Starbucks near CWE that has a drive through I continue to visit it. The employees are nice but the service moves at snails pace. read more

Had the best experience here minus one thing, the table I was sitting at was broken and tipped over spilling all of my drink I had just paid for. I was kinda bummed but got up to grab napkins to clean up my spill. The manager came out right away and asked if I wanted a replacement drink, mopped the mess up right away, and made my drink in front of the line! It was very sweet of her and great customer service! Unfortunately, every time I come here I leave with a different drink than what I ordered. It is usually read back to me wrong as I'm paying, and then after kindly straitening out what I originally ordered...inevitably they get it wrong. I usually drive off before I catch it which is frustrating. I should add that I ordered coffee at 7pm on a Friday evening...hardly rush hour. read more
