I only go to this Starbucks in a caffeine emergency. The service is painfully slow and you only have a slim chance of getting what you order. I have a friend who grew up in Columbia and she says she could fly home grow, harvest and return with the coffee before they could serve you what you order at this Starbucks. She may just be right. Staff just does not pay attention to what they are doing and move very slowly. Even for just a cup of black coffee poured from ther coffee maker into a cup can take five minutes. Seats outside are filled with people smoking and parking is a pain. Avoid if you can. read more

I normally wouldn't write a review for a corporate, big-box, take-it-as-it-is company, but the service at this Starbucks is A-OK in my book. There is no drivethrough and the parking lot is nut-so, but all coffee shops have their pros and cons. Luckily I normally come in here while waiting for the bus, so I don't have to deal with the craziness. Anywho- the cashiers are just a joy to be around. They go out of their way to ensure all customers are happy and often promote further conversation with patrons. The Watertown Starbucks is one of the worst Starbucks I have seen. I used to live in Watertown and went to this particular Starbucks because it was the closest for me. I found the servers generally unfriendly, brash and seemed to lack customer service skill. Most often speak another language - Russian, and feel intruded when you get to the register to order. This is absolutely the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. I always order a soy drink (I'm a lac-tard) and they have on several occasions given me regular milk, which makes the rest of my day HELL. Staff is always friendly but they still get surprised w mid-west friendliness back. It's super busy in the mornings but they're quick. I love how the red-headed barista announces the detailed drink differences with such gusto. He makes it fun to wait for your drink. Very smart! Tried to come do some work here. Not many tables anymore and the music is too loud for conf calls. But if you're coming just to read or do work, it's perfect! read more

Friendly & helpful staff and I had the MOST delicious Iced Mocha Latte I've had since becoming a rewards member. The baked goods were yummy and fresh. Rewards members are truly rewarded and they always ask if you're satisfied. It can get busy, so if you're a Starbucks Camp Out, "Get a Lifer," grab your Latte & Wifi, and don't move your rear. I have no complaints with the exception of the parking situation. This particular Starbucks is located amidst a very much 'bustling' part of Watertown. The parking lot itself is quite small and makes for minimal breathing room. Driving into the lot, as well as getting out of it, is quite dangerous, due to traffic of the area. It is so bad that it concerns me, and other customers. It just wasn't a wise idea to put a Starbucks in such a small area! read more

These guys have some good quick service. I do go here a lot and the employees are pleasant and smile a lot. it is usually busy here. It is generally more quiet between 1-4 can still get crowded. Like I said they are quick so it is usually not a huge deal. read more

A big plus for having two stations to fix your coffee! They also have a rather small sized "wall of crap" for you to walk around before ordering, compared to some other Starbucks. On the downside, limited parking makes for some fun times in the parking lot. read more

Rude people and parking blows. It's so tight that my car had been hit twice in one year in that parking lot while I was in there getting a coffee. I'm never going back there again unless I'm walking. But, I'd rather actually go to the one in Belmont which is much more convenient parking wise and has a cozy warm feeling to it. read more

I've never really had a problem with the service here but I'm going to chime in with everyone else and agree that the PARKING BLOWS. There are like, ten spots and they are pretty much always taken unless you show up at 6 AM to get your coffee. I wish that the people who go there would just buy their goddamn coffee and move on with their day but no, they stay there and hang out for what seems like hours and the staff does nothing about it. Staff is nice! But it takes 20 minutes to make a cold brew coffee! I understand they're busy who ever created the system they use to make drinks and take customers should rethink it it's horrible. One gentlemen had said he had been waiting a half hr for his cold brew that he ordered through the mobile app! There's about 12 people waiting for drinks and we've all been waiting about at least 20 minutes. Mind you there are 6 if not 7 people working. This review isn't towards the staff. They were working hard but seemed like chickens running around with their heads cut off. Who ever is the shift supervisor or store manager needs to have trained people better or created a system that helps everything flow from the register to the person on bar. There was two to 3 people on bar and 4 standing behind the register. If it's a rush the people on bar shouldn't have to stop and restock/refill the person standing behind the employee who is on the register should be floating and helping out read more

This place was a breath of fresh air for my wife and me. We tried the local fave DD and were greatly disappointed, it makes no sense to us why anyone would choose DD over starbucks. My first trip to this starbucks was a weekday and they opened their doors 15 minutes prior to their listed opening time. The baristas were very friendly, fast, accurate and they spoke great English. This Starbucks serves standard Starbucks fare, so I won't comment on the coffee or food. When I went there I liked that the music wasn't so ridiculously loud that the barristas couldn't hear my order. It's okay for conversation because the obnoxious music will keep others from overhearing. On the other hand, I would take a laptop or book there to study or write due to the loud music. They'll turn it down if you ask but don't be surprised if it's back up again to full blast in about 15 minutes. The location is perfect for meeting folks from out of town, right on Mount Auburn Street near the end of the 71 bus line, on the OUTBOUND side of the street. So if you are coming in from Cambridge, get off at Summer Street (there's a crosswalk there with a push-button pedestrian light that rings, too) and cross Mount Auburn Street. You'll see the Starbucks on that side near D'Angelos and Dunkin Donuts. I've gone in there to keep warm or dry when the bus takes forever to show. Another thing I like about it is that they keep a pitcher of water out for folks who want water without paying for the plastic bottle. They don't charge for the cup, or at least didn't charge me. They do have outlets for laptops, too. Dunkin nearby only has one in the whole customer area. read more

I guess I can say I'm a regular at this Starbucks. I prefer some baristas over others and some of the staff are friendlier than others. Parking is a pain SOMETIMES.. depending on what time you go. Lastly, if the line is long and there are many people waiting for their drink... Be patient as they're probably short staffed or there's a newbie. This Starbucks gets four stars during winter - cozy, friendly and warm. During summer it is SO cold inside, with the aircon turned so high, that patrons would rather sit in the summer heat outside than be indoors. Sounds like a lot of focus on temperature? Average for a Starbucks. Clean enough but not super. Crowded sometimes but not others. The remodel was nice, but now the furniture is just average, not comfortable (but not uncomfortable). The current staff is friendlier than they've been in the past. They were very quick the last time I was in, better than many other 'bucks and many other visits to this one. read more
