Starbucks had highlighted Pistachio as part of its Winter Menu, had already tried a number of these items, but at Wheaton Plaza to excited to finally check out the Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Note - New York's Matto Espresso was one of the first places I saw promoting trendy Dubai Chocolate and Pistachio items in general. Pistachio is the nut that is overtaking Hazelnut, the nut that emerged in the '90s as the big food trend in ingredients and flavorings. Dubai Chocolate is a big part of that. Pistachio is everywhere! Another above average location. I've visited this location at least 4 times and never an issue in any way. They could move a little faster but that's it. Parking is shared w plenty of other businesses. They are nestled on a small strip in Westfield Wheaton's shopping center. Staff members are always pleasant and looking forward to assisting. WOW --- buyer beware. I have been enjoying trenta peach green tea at my local Starbucks, all summer. It has been a refreshing treat. Even though, a trenta iced green tea will run you just under $6. My justification was that by bringing my own cup(purchased from Starbucks for $20+) I was getting 25 stars. That meant for every 4 purchases, I would get one free. Recently, the number of points decreased to 5.4 points. Well, i was willing to suck it up until I redeemed points for my drink today and was deducted 200 points not 100 points. Apparently, a trenta iced green tea with no additions is NOW considered a Hand crafted drink. WOW. I thought there was a mistake --- nope --- i called corporate. OH well, NOT a satisfied customer and to tell you the truth, probably NOT a future customer. Sadly, I WILL miss my ice tea but maybe corporate should consider how NOT to alienate their steady customers instead of just trying to come up with new sugary drinks to bring in new customers. read more

If you haven't visited a Starbucks since, you have to ask for any additional things you want with your drink, such as milk, sugar, etc. The self-serve table only has napkins. Tons of free parking and plenty of seatings. There are about 3-4 small tables, 1 large table (seat up to 8people) and a few single comfy leather seats. Takes both cash, credit card and Starbucks rewards. The staff here are extremely patient and kind. Even during busy times, they tend to make sure their customers are satisfied. The barista Josh was my barista for the past few times and he was great. Major kudos to Josh!! Keep up the good and hard work. This Starbucks location serves your typical Expresso, frap and tea drinks. They also have bottled drinks, pastries and a few dessert items if you have a sweet tooth. This is a great Starbucks location. Yes, it can get busy and crowded during the rush hour, but it gets the job done. Plus, parking here is free so that's good. Dear Starbucks district manager: In the decades I have been a customer of Starbucks, I have never experienced such disappointing service. I also worked for your company when I was in college, which further confirmed that the service I received was not up to company standards. I ordered a drink and did not receive it. This is of course not the first time Starbucks staff have missed a drink of mine. One of the things I appreciate about Starbucks is the attentiveness to customers. What I found so alarming was the Barista's response to my question. I asked if he had received my drink order, and he stated "no", but then instead of making my drink, he just went back to what he was previously doing. I have to say, as a veteran Barista I never would have acted so irresponsibly and carelessly. I have a hard time wrapping my head around why a Barista would act like this, given company policy and values. Maybe Starbucks has devolved into an entirely different company from when I worked here, or maybe he's just shitty at his job. Anyway, it seemed pretty hopeless to be able to work with this Barista, who at this point was ignoring me while I stood there at the bar. I went to the cashier and requested a refund. The icing on the cake of this whole ordeal was being misgendered at the cashier. I am trans, so this was really REALLY shitty. I thought Starbucks was a liberal, LGBTQ inclusive company, but now I'm thinking that I may be wrong. I guess I can't count this location as a safe space - noted. With all this said, I'm hoping this complaint is taken seriously and addressed appropriately. Starbucks is not the only coffee shop in our community and I would not hesitate to take my business elsewhere. We went on a Starbucks run because I needed a pick me up. I availed of the buy a handcrafted drink and take 1, so we got our usual Trente berry hibiscus w lemonade & I got a grande iced white chocolate mocha. When I tasted it, I felt like I needed more caffeine... my bad I didn't add a shot ahead of time. (Sometimes I don't need 3 shots of espresso). I went to the cashier and informed I would get an extra shot of espresso and it came up to $2.38...so I informed her I'm always charged .90c, (I think 2.38 is 2 shots?? I will confirm this though), but she explained that it's procedure since the drink was already made. However, she opted to just give me a shot anyways, but clearly explained its procedure for my knowledge for future reference. This is my go to Starbucks and they are friendly and always make my drinks right. I appreciate her clarifying to me why a shot that would normally cost .90c would be $2.38 if gotten on another transaction. I stop in here just about every morning before starting the work day. This happens to be a really busy store but somehow the staff does an excellent job of keeping it running, especially when this particular employee Colin is on shift. What an overachiever he is! My doppio espresso is always well-made and they never seem to run short on my favorite breakfast sandwich. The service that I receive is always courteous. The restrooms are clean, the interior is roomy and there are a few tables to sit outside. I honestly have no complaints about this Starbucks, it meets all my morning coffee expectations. read more

I am so happy to have a Starbucks on campus! I love how open the space is. The environment is very mellow from the decor and the low lighting. This is part of what makes this location my favorite starting spot on campus. It does get a little noisy during the lunch hour rush, but throw in some headphones and you are set. There are plenty of seating options.... Large tables that seat 6-8 people. Comfy arm charms next to the window, perfect for a coffee date with a friend. Highchairs facing out along a large window with a deep table(my favorite studying seats). And even more options I'm not listing. The drinks are up to par with Starbucks standards. The only difference between the Starbucks in any other Starbucks is that they cannot redeem rewards from your Starbucks app. You can still use your app for purchase in for gaining points though. I give this Starbucks 5 stars for the lovely, clean environment and for providing me with the perfect studying spot! read more

Service was good and prompt but... There were literally so many flies inside, I had to move outside to avoid them. And literally... that worked. There were less flies outside... then inside this Starbucks. The floors are littered with crumbs around most tables, tables are sticky, and the trash needed to be emptied. I used to really, really love Starbucks. They seemed so cool and trendy (wow, how old am I to use that phrase?) in the way back... This shop somehow retains a bit of that funky feeling. However, I am becoming less and less a fan of the coffee. I like my coffee simple (ok, ok, except for fall's pumpkin spice latte). They manage to mess up simple things and get complicated things right. Several times I've had to wait for the coffee of the day, while Mr. frou-frou coffee behind me gets his drink first. WTF? Have never had service so rude. The checkout clerk was passive aggressive throughout the whole interaction,after she didn't like that I offered to spell my name for her after she didn't get it the first time. After I spelled it she still put"M" instead of "Anna" on the ticket. The woman who gave me my drink, when I asked her for the name of the checkout lady, was very reluctant to give it to me, and wanted to know why I want to know it. It came out something like'Carin' or"Sharina". I know every teen dreams to work at Starbucks. Why do they have to hire and keep people who lack basic people skill, like politeness and respect? A disappointing customer service....after missing one of my 4 orders, the barrista refused to get my drink and she was so rude. After standing for a while and checking my reciept the cashier appologized and got my espresso shot. Still the barrista was showing that rude face and didn't even apologize. I mean, it's Starbucks. The staff are all friendly and most of them are good at their jobs. The specialty drinks are ok, though often too sweet or with a funny aftertaste. The coffee beans are still burnt. The new "coconut milk" got me all excited, but it turns out it has a bunch of additives so isn't actually really coconut milk AND it isn't fair trade. Nope, nope, aaaand nope on that one, Starbuckseroo. I can always find something that is ok to eat or drink when I get a gift card. The staff are nice. But there is a Mayorga in the mall with better, more economical, more ethical coffee. And they are a local business. So, you know. For me that's a no-brainer. I mobile order here almost every weekday morning and even though it's always busy, my order is always out and ready. The other day, I guess someone took my drink before I got there. This is one my favorite locations aside from the drive-through in Kensington. It's convenient to get something to wake up and begin your shopping. The service is always great here. Very bad customer service sums up my experience at this Starbucks by the Wheaton Mall. The employees are incredibly rude and have treated me with complete disrespect. I placed my order for a cookie 1 hour and 15 minutes before the store was closing. I asked for my cookie to be heated up, which has never been a problem in the past. The employee told me the oven is turned off. I asked her if she could turn it on. She then started talking down to me in a disrespectful matter telling me the oven gets turned off an hour before the store closes. I kindly showed her the time to point its well over an hour before closing. She continued to talk very rude to me. I asked to talk to the manager. Another employee claimed to me that she was the manager (I later confirmed she lied to me and was not a manager). I told her how I was disrespected. She seemed like she couldn't have cared less and asked her fellow employee to say she was sorry. Then I received the most unapologetic apology I have ever received. The only reason I go to this location is because it's close to where I live. The customer service at this location is a hit or miss, they may be out of coffee or a product and not tell the 10 customers in line until you get up to the register, some of the staff is not knowledgeable of their products either. Every time I go in there is a particular barsita who is not friendly at all. Have not gotten his name but he always has his hair pulled back. He's rude and it would not hurt to smile.
