I come here for the convenience. It's the closest one near me and I can quickly grab a drink before heading to work. This location however seems bit of a hit or miss. Sometimes my drink is made perfectly and tastes exactly as expected, but other times it's inconsistent. One time they added some sort of foam on my drink even though I did not order it and you can see it doesn't say that on the order sticker. I really don't like posting bad reviews. So much so that I had TWO draft reviews for this location. Here's the third and I am going to post it because otherwise it's getting so long I'm going to have to publish a book. This location befuddles me. I happened to be in the area with my kid, and we stopped by Congressional Plaza to pick up something so I figured I'd go ahead and get my coffee here. So we're in the Days of COVID-19 still, folks - I order via mobile app and stand outside away from the door so I can see the mobile pick-up station. While I stand there, other customers just file in - both ordering and mobile pick-up. They smash up as usual at the end, waiting for their orders to be handed out. No sense of social distancing although at least everyone is wearing a mask. I wait 10 minutes - a more than reasonable time for two drinks to be completed. During this time I see several customers walk in, place their order, and walk out with their drinks. Mobile orders are supposed to go in queue with in-store orders, so um ... what the hey? So I walk in. Immediately upon my heels follows a young woman in yoga pants with no mask and holding a small child who proceeds to not just stand right next to me but actually strides aggressively in FRONT of me so she can be right up against the plastic shielding at the mobile pickup stand. Seriously?? I politely move over to the side to give her distance. The cashier (one of two employees present) comes to our end of the bar and greets ... the pushy lady. Of course. Despite having seen me standing outside. The employee confirms the pushy lady's order and proceeds to start making it. As she's sorting the cups, she then glances at me and asks if I am picking up - I say yes and give my name, to which she then STARTS my bar order (more than ten mins after my ordering on the mobile app, after several in-store walk-in customers have gotten their orders, and after the pushy lady has her order now in hand). Twenty minutes plus after ordering, I finally get my two drinks and weave my way through the other customers who are - as they normally do at this location - clumped inside the door waiting for their drinks. My former draft review gave this location three stars - today's experience was a first world problem but knocked it down to two stars. Honestly, can we get the basics of customer service down and WHY are some of the clientele at this particular location so rude? This location is at the bottom of my list for Starbucks locations. Then a crew of yoga-clad women walk in leisurely before me, pausing in the doorway even to tell a joke (because of course I must be the doorman). This location has one of the fastest and hardest-working baristas ever....but I only saw this barista once! Customer service on subsequent visits have been good, too...staff have generally been positive and helpful. There is decent counter seating and plenty of outdoor seating in the common areas when the weather is nice. I do find parking difficult as the store is tucked in a corner of Congressional Plaza (which is usually pretty busy). Placed a mobile order for pickup. The order was ready upon arriving approximately 10 minutes later. There was zero acknowledgment from people behind the counter. The drink was very lukewarm even though it was an iced drink. Worst part was how sticky the drink container was. Ugh. I keep wondering why I even bother with Starbucks anything. I really miss the Italian Sweet Cream Iced Coffee from the Bagel Baker on days like this. At least the workers there are fast, friendly, and nice. Longing to get out of town again. I don't understand the terrible reviews for this Starbucks. I went right around opening this morning (~6:20am) after I finished an orangetheory class a few doors down, and the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient despite the early hour. I got the bacon egg bites, which were heated up for me and absolutely delicious. I also got the cafe misto, which was fabulous as usual. The barista even asked what roast I wanted for the misto, which I've never been asked before. The store is very clean on the inside, with one large table and some barstools. The area around Starbucks has great outdoor seating, too. read more

I can't speak for much, as I just stopped in quickly to order a to-go coffee after a workout down the street, but it was pretty quiet in there and staff were friendly. It looked like there were a few tables for those dining in, but not a ton of space if you were to come work for a longer period of time. One of the busiest Starbucks I've been to & the three men crew were handling their business. Each one was in their designated station taking care of the non stop influx of customers. Speaking of customers, the herd wasn't too restless with the exception of an elderly gentleman with a heavy Western European accent who did not appreciate the person ahead of us with her many inquiries & long ordering process. I actually got a tickle out of it & already made up in my mind that I was going to let him go ahead of me. That was until he yelled for another cashier, who after dumping two containers of ice hopped on the register & assisted him. When it was my turn, the Barista apologized for the wait. I stated no worries & gave him my simple order of a Tall, Green Tea Lemonade with Mango instead of Peach. He repeated my order, scanned my App & I was good to...plus I got a free upgrade to Gold status (limited time offer). After a few past efforts of trying to get a Coconut Milk/Vegan friendly coffee/latte, I still seem to have a small allergic reaction, so I delight in the teas, lemonades & snacks. For a corner store located in a shopping plaza, its one of the smaller stores I've been to. Yet, the traffic control had a good flow, it was stocked, well kept & has a nice size patio. Jeez one of the Starbucks that I've witnessed a bunch of orders being messed up. Putting green tea in labels for black tea, different people not knowing whether something is in stock, etc. It's really beyond frustrating here. My latest was I ordered a java chip frap with whipped cream and a shot of espresso and a mocha frap with whip. The barista put it all in the same batch. Wtf??? Assuming the espresso was in there, which means my java chip frap was shorted of espresso and the mocha frap for someone who doesn't drink espresso has some and has unwanted chips. Pure laziness. I went back to say something, but the barista just didn't give a... She just tossed one of the java chip fraps and gave me a mocha frap. Where is my espresso shot????? This is one of the most average Starbucks I've been too. The employees aren't friendly, yet they're not mean. The store is not immaculate but not dirty either. The drinks aren't exceptionally good, actually my veinte salted caramel hot chocolate is a little more tasteless than usual, but not bad enough to put it down a star. They're starting to close up already 2 and a half hours early which is slightly annoying. Compared to other Starbucks I would say that this location is a little understaffed. Shopping for the right gift can be exhausting. So, I decided to go for a coffee to energize the weary shopper. I entered the shop and had my mind made up on a Carmel brûlée. Unfortunately, they were out of that drink, so the barista recommended the chestnut praline. He said if I didn't like it, he would substitute something else. How could I pass that up? It was love at first sip. The whipped cream floating on top of the warm nutty liquid. The pralines added the perfect amount of sweetness. I finished it in a few minutes and was ready to finish my shopping. Fabulous service and pleasant staff made my day. I am now hooked on a new coffee flavor. I used to really like this Starbucks. I would even pass other Starbucks on the pike to get here. Then today I went in and was just shocked by the ineptitude of the staff. It took 15 minutes from the time I placed my order until my drinks were ready... and the store was nearly EMPTY! Rather than making my drink, the Barista loudly complained to another coworker about how their manager asking them to "clean" all the time was the reason they could never close on time. Then she proceeded to take 15 minutes to make an Americano! Literally all she had to do was push the button and add hot water! Starbucks needs to clean house here. This place knows how to treat a customer! Tierra took my wife's order for a cocoa protein frozen ... whatever thing. We left, she tried it, and it terrible. Might be fine for someone who wants a super sweet, almost fruity, stevia tasting mess, but it wasn't for us. But I went back in a few minutes later and Tierra once again looked after me. This is the Starbucks that is most conveniently located close to my place of work so naturally I would stop here for a coffee break. It just so happens that it is a really good Starbucks. I have been coming here since 2006 and somehow astonishingly not one single time was my drink ever made incorrectly, and my specific drink is a complicated one to make: and iced venti two pump white mocha with whole milk and whipped cream. The attentive and friendly employees are always hard at work and eager to assist you. Not a single person here ever looks tired on the job or has that expression on their face like they don't want to live or like they hate their job. Mark (his full name I believe is Marcus Muffin) does and outstanding job of taking out the trash each evening. Monica of the Dominican Republic always puts a smile on the customers' faces should those smiles ever be missing. Amadeu keeps everything neatly organized and professional- looking and he always greets me with a friendly face. I think more customers would sit and linger, however there is no room and who wants to use outside seating when it's 30° outside? Unfortunately every time I've come here the bathroom is a disaster. I like all Starbucks, but this location in particular is really great because they are neat and clean with handling your food order and they took well to my suggestion of not touching/ covering the coffee cup lid (where we would put our lips to drink out of) with their hands/ palms. So much has changed...sort of..but good enough to update my review. It's much cleaner, the employees are accommodating with "difficult" orders and I no longer loathe coming to this location. One small request to the fellow Starbucksters, do not gather around the pick-up bar like it is a watering hole. I ordered a double espresso macchiato. When I received the cup I asked the barista if she had any milk left - in which case I asked to add some more milk to the drink. She added milk but said that next time I should order a latte. I went to the cashier and asked to pay the difference, but the barista heard it and said that I was OK... FOR TODAY. I wasn't really trying to swindle Starbucks of additional milk - I just don't like my espresso too concentrated in a small cup or too dilated in a larger latte drink.
