Really great brunch and coffee shop if you're meeting a friend or need to work! There are tons of indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor seats are covered with umbrellas, so they are nice and shaded in the summertime! I stopped by and ordered an iced latte. I really appreciate it that they make it with a good espresso machine and it was really yummy. I could tell the quality of the coffee was really good compared to others. I've never been a regular at a café -- and I'd never found any café at which I'd want to be a regular -- until I found this one! I was always driving by it and thinking 'I really need to go there and check it out!' Finally, one day, I did. I discovered the treasure for which I am always searching -- Turkish coffee! I also found out that it's sometimes called 'Arabic' or 'Greek' coffee. It's so fun to learn new things! Another unexpected find here is the shakshouka (in the morning, during breakfast time until eleven a.m. -- so to get this along with the Turkish coffee is a perfect cultural connection for me, and that's what I love! There is also a really great selection of pistachio-flavoured things, such as the frappe, pistachio-cream-filled muffin, pistachio-cream-drizzled croissant, etc. De-li-cious! Oh, yeah, they have all kinds of other flavoured drinks and such, but I am highlighting and pointing out the pistachio because that is my favourite! Mmm! The little veggie quiche is very good, too! So filling, as well. Rich, creamy, dense, etc. I wasn't hungry for hours after eating it -- I would just say to be ready to hydrate with lots of liquid for a while upon completion of this delightful meal. The whole vibe of this place, by the way, is so much nicer than I had anticipated. It's roomy with comfortable, cool-looking seating coming in both chair and booth-like bench form with luscious cushions reminiscent of the Moon's or some other outer-spacey surface. The tables are sturdy -- no wobbling -- with plenty of space for all your goodies. It has nice lighting, large windows, and some coffee-themed wall decorations. The company is over a hundred years old! Not this location, of course, but the company. I think that's really cool! In addition to what's available to order at the counter, there is a nicely-sized cooled drink area with bottled apple and orange juices, fizzy flavoured and unflavoured waters, and shelves with coffee-scented candles. They smell so good! I don't know how long these will be here, but for now, they are pretty specialized little scent treats you can get for yourself or someone else. To be greeted with such welcoming smiles such as those I have received here by the people at the counter is a treat in itself, too! All in all, this place is a real find! Highly recommended! This coffee shop has lots of seats. It's got very nouveau seating with different combinations. I loved the regular drip coffee. Noticed the cups have a slight curve at the bottom that fits well with the saucer's center. That's excellent attention to detail. Very friendly employee at the counter. Noise level is low. Disappointing Experience - Great Coffee, Terrible Service I really wanted to love Filicori. The coffee is actually good, the location is perfect (I live in the building), and the atmosphere is nice. But the service is consistently terrible--and that makes it hard to support them, especially as a small business. Not only is the service cold and robotic--no smiles, no warmth, no basic courtesy--but it's also slow. Even when it's not busy, the staff seems uninterested and unmotivated. I once had to change my order, and the staff member literally slammed my food on the counter. I said thank you, and she just walked away without saying a word. That kind of energy makes it hard to keep trying. I took a break, hoping there might be a staff change. No luck. Still the same attitude, still the same lackluster experience. What's worse is that Starbucks--just a short walk away--manages to outdo them in every way. Faster service, a mobile app that lets me order ahead without extra charges, and most importantly, when I walk in, they know my name, say good morning, and wish me a good day. That human connection matters. It's disappointing when you want to support small businesses, but they make it so hard. Especially when their coffee and food are more expensive. I used to go there when it was the real (and good!) Filicori; never had a true Italian coffee served like they did! Then it turned into something else. Mediocre service, terrible espresso (looked and tasted like the water you get when you wash the coffee pot). Result: I do not need to spend my money there. This coffee shop is stellar for both coffee and finding a place to bring your laptop. I was so impressed with how many outlets are all around the seating at Filicori. It was not a problem at all to find a spot where I can maintain my laptop charge and get work done. Additionally the wifi was free and worked extremely well for the 2 hours I was there. Filicori has a great selection of beverages and even some seasonal drink items. I enjoyed a soy decaf gingerbread latte. This latte was delicious with the perfect amount of ginger flavor and not too sweet. It was also extremely filling for a latte so I didn't feel a need to order food with my drink. I do wish that this business would get some vegan options. If I was hungry I would have only been able to order potato chips or a plain bagel with no spread. I hope next time this business can have some food available for me to try. Like I said I was really happy with this latte so even with no food I give this business 5 stars. I will definitely be back to support this coffee shop next time I am waiting for my dog's grooming appointment to be done. The cafe can be loud during prime breakfast times, but it's a great place to do work in the early afternoon. I liked the place so much, I went back the next day ti try their breakfast. We got the last table available, there is another little alcove tucked off to the side but it seemed to be being used as storage? Too bad it isn't available for seating when the place is super busy? Without heaters outdoors, by that point in the month it was too chilly to sit outside. Just a thought for the future- as we were meeting someone here, we almost left before we found the last (not cleaned) table by the door. I ordered the vegetable quiche, which is served as a 'personal' sized round pie, not a slice of your traditional size quiche. There is a kiosk were you can place your order or you can place it with any of the baristas. There is enough seating, enough parking in front of cafe. I think there's a fee but not sure Coffee is good and it's a nice quiet area to a get work done. I think Nutella brioche is the same one that julii sells. Although the interior décor reminds me of a small European canteen as opposed to a cozy living room, the outdoor patio seatings provide for good hangout for casual conversations on a sunny day. I came to this cafe on a January Saturday morning at 8am to have coffee with a good friend. First impressions: the place is modern like a hotel cafe, the cashier was friendly and incredibly patient with all of my questions regarding my the food and drinks. At 8am, the place was quiet- the perfect place to have a catch up with a friend or read a book in peace. Though the place is cozy, it seems that there's ample space to still have somewhat of a private and meaningful conversation without it feeling like a "grab and rush out to go" kind of place. Only had a coffee and a croissant, which were both reasonably priced and good. Coffee was not burnt yet still flavorful and the croissant tasted just right. I would definitely come back here again! This place was really nice. I got a chocolate cigar with my brother and we both agreed that it was a dry and tasted like it's been sitting for 2 days. The chai tea and hot chocolate were good though but the chai was lacking some chai flavor. The staff there was also pretty nice. I was just very disappointed with the pastry! The inside of the place is real posh. Think... brand new Buzzuto property without all the weird quirky accents. They have a ton of seating, and a large communal table off near the bathrooms that has plugs in the middle for you to work. All the finishes are real nice in here. I came here on an early afternoon to get some work done. I did not know what to get at first because I was overwhelmed by seeing the beauty of this place. I was mesmerized as soon as I walked in. The interior is cozy, comfortable, the decor is warm. I had to ask the barista what he would recommend me to have and thanks to him I got to try their special lavender latte. I'm so sorry I can't remember the barista's name but he was very welcoming, very sweet, knowledgeable about the menu. After I finished my latte (10/10 btw), I went back and ordered a a vegetarian sandwich with a parfait. My experience here overall was absolutely endearing. Filicori Zecchini is a new Italian coffee shop that just opened up in Park Potomac. It's great to have more options here. I came here during their soft opening so their menu was not up. I had the mocha and it was great. Although, it's a little on the pricey side. They have baked goods (croissants, quiche, scones, etc.), but they do not make those on site. Instead, it's made by Fresh Baguette in Bethesda. They also have bottled drinks and pre-made salad bowls. The place is very spacious with very modern decor. It's located across the street from Charles Schwab. There is plenty of parking here. There is 30-minute street parking or in the garage. First two hours free. read more
