I went to the Brooklyn location by Ridgepark Square this year, but have been to one in almost every listed suburb that is full of abandoned superstores where these things pop up. It's sort of our Halloween tradition. It's cheaper than going to a dumb haunted house where they use all the stuff sold here. If you even spend a dime, you' re taking something home. We bought a big glitter skull, skeleton garland,a shrunken head and everybody's favorite-bang snaps! I haven't had these in years. The slutty costumes are fun to make fun of and the really extravagant decorations(like a twitching full size body in a body bag) are scarier than the garbage at a haunted house. This is miles above the Marc's closeout section or Walmart. The closest competition would probably be Party City, but even they don't satisfy my spooky jones like this place. i wish it was here all year long for bar mitzvah and wedding present shopping. The funny thing is we hand out candy every year on my street, and only about a dozen kids show up. In Lakewood. We've got like twelve new middle schools! Where are all the kids? Probably working at haunted houses and saving to go to college, so they don't end up working at Halloween USA and waiting on a jackass like me.

I almost had a 4-star experience today... almost…read more Once again, I was in search of specific themed party props, etc. I knew no one else would have what I was looking for, but Party City always seems to pull through in those dire situations. I will say that I found almost everything I was looking for! I asked the help of a kind employee who just so happened to walk me over and point out the last of something I needed. Hells yes. Unfortunately the first employee I asked for help was an uninterested teenager too bothered to leave her "post"... womp, womp. After my great experience finding all sorts of great stuff (for cheap), I descended on the check-out. There was one, inefficient teenager (again) ringing out an older lady and was arguing with her over the price of gift bags. Then, that lead to someone cutting in front of me and then continued on with everything imaginable going wrong with the order. Oh yes, price tag arguments, register out of tape, girl waiting for new tape, girl trying to figure out how to insert tape, tape inserted wrong--you get the drift. 10 minutes later, the nice gentlemen who helped me in the first place took me over to a new register to ring out my cart (thank GOD.) I ended up leaving well before the old lady did. So, Party City still sits at 3 stars. They need to make sure all their employees are on their customer service game and not just one of them.

The costumes are top notch and the actors are wonderful with the kids. Even the way they approached the house was in-character! They kept 8 and 4 year olds occupied for an hour and both the parents and kids were delighted. If you are looking for a character event, these folks are highly recommended.

We came here to get some fake blood to make Bonnie and Clyde costumes, and were surprised by the selection of many sizes. We ended up going with the pint size and also a shark costume for our pittie. I recommend going here if you need a Halloween costume or if you are trying to find some last-minute decorations for a get-together, a bachelorette party, a wedding, a birthday party, or a banquet.
