Our new favorite pizza spot on this side of the bay! The Chloe was absolutely delicious, also appreciated the square cut. Full of flavor, good amount of veggies and sauce. Will be back again soon. Got take out and pizza was ready and hot by the time we got there.

I love this pizza a lot. My favorite is the margarita square. The Gaia is great too and their mushroom is yummy, but I love a plain pizza that is delicious. The bread is so light and airy and crispy on the square pizza. Service is fast, and they have a beautiful upstairs area to enjoy the pizza and look over the restaurant. I will drive back out sometime to enjoy more of this.

I'm definitely a snob when it comes to pizza. Particularly in California, I feel like it's a rule that there is no good pizza in the state. However, I was really pleasantly surprised at how great State Flour was. Came with a ~15 minute wait, and the place was for sure packed, but it was a very positive experience, and I see why it's so loved. Would return!

Yummmy!! Can't remember what it was called. :)

What a pleasant surprise!! The service was friendly and efficient. The space was cute and even brighter upstairs. The Pizza?!?! Yum!! Yum!! Gluten-free pizza was delicious, fresh and a wonderful value. I'll be back!

Take the warmth of a local community-run kitchen, add in some killer flavors and textures, sprinkle on some coziness from the ample mood lighting and you've got the magic that is State Flour Pizza. I don't think I could've asked for a better experience at State Flour Pizza Co, and that includes the 30 minute wait time for a table. This is the kind of place that hires the neighborhood teens in the summers while still taking the time to source all fresh ingredients. Consensus for favorite was split between the mushroom-sausage and green goddess pizzas, but the margherita and hot honey pepperoni were almost as good. Apple salad gave some much needed freshness to the table. This pizza place is as perfect for a family dinner as it is for a first date, and is just as likely to have a table of college friends as it is a post-conference debrief. That's because it's designed for the community, so it attracts the community.

I have been coming to state flour for years now and I always leave happy with a full stomach. It's a small restaurant but they have a good amount of seating. Their staff is attentive and quick which I appreciate. I've mainly tried their red sauce pizzas which I think are very good. Most recently I tried their special for that week which was a pepperoni pizza with a drizzle of vodka sauce. It was very tasty and I'm definitely going to be back again!

One of my favorite new places I've tried in Berkeley!! Both pizzas were great with unique toppings and a lot of flavor. Personal fav was the Darcy because the red sauce was so good with the pickled onions and cherry tomatoes. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy on both. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive and made great suggestions. The inside is small but has an upper level so it was a decent amount of seating for a college Ave restaurant. Definitely coming back to try more and to try their wine!!

The best pizza! I recommend it to all my friends. I even had my bday party here. My favorites are burrata, lolo, and Chloe!

I came here to dine with my friends for dinner, and we were immediately greeted and seated by our server. We got to sit upstairs in this fairly small, but cozy restaurant. She was very kind and quickly got us water while taking our order. We got the Lo Lo and Burrata pizza. The Lo Lo had a kick with the pepper, but the spice paired well with the pineapple and basil. The Burrata was delicious as well---the cheese made the slice so creamy. Both pizzas had a nice, thin crust and neither were greasy or heavy! For the size, the pizzas were a bit pricey at $25ish for a 14", but I would definitely like to try the other flavors they provide.

I've had their Spicy Hog, steak with mushroom, a few Cubans, but the one that I always come back to is "The Balls" sandwich. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. The price of their sandwiches is in the $20 range, but the quality and portion make it totally worth it.

No one came and instead quickly several more tables cleared out. Rather than see a few minutes of the England-Serbia World Cup match, I saw a bunch of people up close paying lunch bills. Don't come in solo expecting a side table.

They had plenty of interesting options to choose from but we were craving for thai curry so went with that. The ambiance was welcoming. The food came out pretty quickly too. Kitchen Story nails the Korean-brunch mashup better than anywhere else I've found. The Kitchen Story benedict with millionaires bacon is a standout... crispy sweet and spicy bacon with poached eggs and hollandaise over asparagus and ciabatta toast, plus a side of crispy fried Yukon potatoes. The tornado eggs with galbi fried rice with that glossy brown gravy is another favorite, and the popcorn chicken (yes, served with actual popcorn mixed in) is a fun, addictive appetizer - or my 6yo favorite dish. Don't sleep on the stuffed French toast either, loaded with fresh fruit and a nice hit of powdered sugar. A few practical notes: this place is small and popular, so weekday visits or joining the virtual Yelp waitlist before you arrive is the move if you want to avoid a long wait. They also have a big TV that made watching World Cup games here a great bonus. My favorite detail, though: at the end of the meal they bring your receipt tucked inside a little book instead of just handing you a slip of paper. Such a charming, unexpected touch that makes the whole experience feel more special. Come hungry, come early (or waitlisted), and don't skip dessert-for-breakfast options. Highly recommend.
