This HUGE salad was $6.60 including tax!
    Kathleen J.

I decided to give the State Police Cafeteria a try today since it's close to my new office. First, be aware that the map directions you get from here will send you to the wrong location, the park. That is not where it is located. If you go there, you passed it up. It is actually located in the Department of Public Safety Complex. You will see the big pillars stating that, turn in there from Independence Boulevard. Once you have turned in, you will take the first left. Pass the first building on your right, and you will see a building set back just past it. The cafeteria is in that building in the front of the left side of that building. It's not a fancy place, and yes, it is full of police, but the salad I got was HUGE, fresh, and enough to feed me for two meals for the price of $6.60 including tax in 2023. I say SOLD! They offer a variety of hot food items, desserts, etc., as well, so I will definitely be back to check them out. I highly recommend you try them if you are in the area and are looking for good food at really good prices!

It's literally the only thing I eat no matter which Piccadilly location I may be visiting. This chopped steak slaps. I visited this location for lunch last week and I cleaned my plate. I got the large chopped steak meal, the rice was counted as a side. I had to choose another but ended up buying an extra side anyways. If your grown get some onions because I forgot. Of course to be sure to get extra gravy if your eating it with rice. Carrot soufflé has ALWAYS been my go to side and it tasted amazing. I added the squash and zucchini and as the extra side and it was good good! I love great tasting vegetables and this hit it on the nail. The food was fresh, I enjoyed my lunch that day. The total was about 16$ with my extra side and I would pay for that every time cause it was just that good. Don't forget you to grab you some ketchup if your like me and I could see A1 being good on this even though I haven't tried. You also have a choice of a roll or cornbread. The rolls are pretty good in my opinion. I could imagine with butter and honey it would be fantastic. The To go staff here was nice, smiling, and happy. They accept tap and pay which was great because I forgot my card and still was able to eat. Of course food here isn't going to be seasoned down bad but it's far from bland. If you need extra those salt and pepper packets provided should do the trick.

We found this place by following the signs for food off the highway. We were hungry and cranky and…read morehad been on the road forever! So despite having a craving for fried chicken, we just wanted to find the fastest place to eat and get the rest of the trip over with! I guess we got fed up with the car at the right time because the signs off the highway listed a lot of food options. One of those places was called Piccadilly and we figured, what the hell, let's try something new. We don't have a Piccadilly where we live, or any chain like it, so we had no idea it was a cafeteria. We entered, and it still wasn't obvious- kind of upscale decor for a cafeteria. I mean, I have been to a Luby's once, about 20 years ago, and it didn't look anything like this... We finally found the line and signs and it all became clear. It seems like a good concept! I do wish they would have some helpful signage closer to the entrance though. There are a lot of places to veer off before you get to the line itself. $8.99 will get you an entree of your choice with two sides and bread. Drinks and desserts are separate. Side portions are a little small, but entree portions are large. Considering the array of options and how little time is involved in getting your meal, it's a better deal than your average lunch place. They had a variety of dishes including salmon, shrimp, meatloaf, roast beef, steak, roasted chicken and... fried chicken! There were others of course, but I was too excited about the huge, juicy pieces of fried chicken to tell you any of the others. A majority of it is comfort food, which is my jam, so I am pretty sure I would have been just as happy had I not been craving fried chicken. I ended up with two big pieces of fried chicken, a side of mac & cheese, a side of broccoli rice casserole and a dinner roll. My sweet tea was around $2 and I can't exactly recall, but the desserts seemed to range $3-4. Yeah, couldn't help myself, got some yellow cake with chocolate frosting! The place was crowded, but we found a table pretty easily and Rene was the server for our section. She was very efficient and helpful and kept us supplied with napkins. The volume was a little louder than I prefer when dining in somewhere, but it was manageable. The portions were really good for the price, I barely finished more than half of mine. The quality of everything was a little above average. My chicken was tasty and my mac was cheesy, and you have to be a little evil to not enjoy chocolate frosting. This was actually better than I expected for the price we paid and the cafeteria style setting. They did a good job of keeping everything hot without drying it out and everything tasted pretty good. I like variety, so to me the biggest appeal is that you get a big selection that is ready immediately and it doesn't affect your price. The friendly service and big portions don't hurt either. I also like that they are smart enough to separate their to go orders so it doesn't bog the line down. Towards the back of the building they have a Piccadilly Express entrance that has no seating and a smaller line of options, so you can get in and out immediately. Overall good spot to check out for a quick lunch at a good price, especially if you like comfort food!

It was quiet and had plenty of tables for guests to sit down and eat. The two people behind the counter were very nice. I ordered their three entree plate with a side and it was very affordable, less than $12. I got the black pepper chicken, their sesame chicken, and their new shrimp entree that is fried and tossed in a great sauce. The shrimp was called firecracker shrimp. I got the lo mein noodles as a side but they did not taste like traditional lo mein noodles, they were much sweeter which I did not like. I loved the black pepper chicken and shrimp entrees however. My sesame chicken sauce was also super sweet and not a dark sauce like it usually is at other Chinese restaurants. If you're looking for a quick place to stop for some Chinese food for lunch or dinner, this is the place.

They're clearly open with their hours on Google and Yelp, and I called four times. Nobody picked up the phone, so then I started reading the reviews. My wife drove by after work on Seigen and thought we might like this place. There are several people in these reviews that show pictures of small little worms in the meat, and somebody found hair in their food twice. So if I am putting two and two together, then this restaurant may not know how to store meat properly such that maggots or other insects are in the meat. Second, if someone found hair, then that means the people preparing the food are not wearing hair nets at the very minimum. Finally, if you are not picking up the phone during a Thursday night at dinner, then you may not be taking your role seriously as a business. All of these are indications that inductively speaking support the conclusion that we shouldn't eat from there.

When you read the reviews below, most people know what this restaurant is and how it works. My…read moreresponse is less harsh about the service or it's overpriced charcuterie board concept. I have lived in BR for 6 years now. Many departments at LSU take guests there and in that time, Building 5 has done nothing to improve its parking lot. The restaurant sits underneath an overpass and the parking is pothole marked unpaved gravel. This means that there is no room for wheelchairs or accommodations for anyone who is differently-abled to get into the restaurant. The whole restaurant makes no room for handicapped persons. On the occasion I did get food, the food is slightly overpriced. All meats were cooked adequately but the food was lukewarm probably owing to sitting in the kitchen under the heat lamp than being delivered promptly. When I have gone, I regularly have to ask for refills on soda as I am the designated driver often for department functions. Servers pay you no heed if you do not buy alcohol. Because I go here because of academic reasons, I would barely go here myself. I've been here many times and found it wanting. It's an ableist place in its infrastructure. It's fine I'm atmosphere as a cocktail bar but would little recommend it to people I call friend.
