Nice selection of beer and other spirits. We loved the burrata pizza- the lemon zest was an amazing touch! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice ambience and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The biggest downside is parking-- good luck!

I came here based on a recommendation from a fellow gym rat. This quaint beer and pizza establishment, which has been charming patrons since 2017, is just the ticket for a restorative belly treat. Tucked away off the beaten path and conveniently located across from MSM's deli (another favorite of mine). The dough, crafted fresh each morning from simple ingredients--flour, salt, yeast, and water--results in a crust that is the epitome of perfection: light, chewy, and utterly delicious. I appreciate that they par-bake the crusts in the morning, ensuring that each pizza arrives at your table hot and ready to indulge. Equally noteworthy is the staff, particularly the warmth and genuine smile added a personal touch to the experience, making me feel right at home. It's rare to encounter such kindness, and it certainly enhanced my enjoyment of the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For anyone seeking a delightful combination of exceptional pizza, refreshing beer, and a welcoming atmosphere, I wholeheartedly recommend this charming establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a wonderful place to unwind and savor the simple pleasures in life--like a great slice of pizza!

We love the pepperoni pizza that comes with jalepños and honey, so good! Add a glass of wine and it's an amazing date! State Street is a regular spot for us, the people who serve are very friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]we especially love it when we get to sit in the little enclosed booth![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is a really neat bar tucked away in the heart of Tacoma! The service here is very good, and all staff that I have met are extremely nice and helpful. There are plenty of options on tap, and they even have a cooler for cans and bottles! Their pizzas are very gourmet and delicious, too! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I feel like the price for food is a tad high, but the quality of the pizzas are excellent. It runs about $20+ for a 12" (ish) pie. Don't let this stop you from trying State St though! Definitely worth a date night or friend meet up.

What's not to love about amazing pizza and wine. Pair that with a quaint little bar, friendly service, and cute decor. The pizza is sooo good! We had the Buratta Pizza and added Mama's Peppers. Omg mouth watering. Can't wait to try more of their amazing pizzas!

    # Tasting Room Heartbreak: When Man's Best Friend Gets Banned…read more Just found out today was Pickle's last day at one of my favorite wine tasting rooms, and I'm absolutely devastated. As someone who visits weekly, this place has become my weekend sanctuary precisely because it was so dog-friendly. The charm of seeing Pickle's sweet face in the window was something I looked forward to every visit. I can't count how many times I've watched people walking by stop dead in their tracks, point at that adorable face peering out, and decide right then to come inside. Nathan's charismatic hosting is what initially kept me coming back weekend after weekend, but the dog-friendly atmosphere truly sealed the deal. In a world where finding quality places that genuinely welcome our four-legged family members is rare, this spot stood out. To the management: please reconsider this decision. Pickles wasn't just a cute mascot - he was part of what made your tasting room special. As a devoted wine club member, I'm seriously questioning whether I'll continue my visits without the joy of seeing that precious pup. Who else is heartbroken about this? Have you ever chosen a place specifically because it welcomed dogs? #SavePickle #DogFriendlyWineries #WeekendWineRuined

I really wanted to love this place because the atmosphere is nice and it has a lot of potential,…read morebut unfortunately our experience was just okay. The food itself was decent, but definitely overpriced for what you get. We ordered a cheese plate and a salad. It took well over 45 minutes just to receive the cheese plate, and then another 35+ minutes for the salad to come out. That felt excessive, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy when we first arrived. There was a bridal shower happening, which is totally understandable and of course events can impact service. However, at the time we were seated, it wasn't crowded at all. The service was also disappointing. Our waitress rarely checked in, and we eventually had to go up to the bar ourselves to ask for napkins and water refill. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but for the prices and the wait times, I expected much better service and efficiency. I understand maybe we caught them on a off day, but for being my first experience I'd consider giving it another try, but improvements in attentiveness and timing would make a big difference.

The plus side:Pleasant, cozy ambiance, although a bit noisy, competent and professional service…read more The minus side; $100 no show fee, $9.00 to split an entree, higher than Seattle prices!? My partner and I both ordered the lasagna and were told by the server that it wasn't the traditional dish. Instead of pasta, the chef substituted baked, yellow squash. We had no problem with that.. What was served was a barely discernible, thin, single layer of sliced, butternut squash, under a light, savory layer of meat sauce, smothered by an overwhelming amount of fairly bland, warm, gooey, cheddar and mozzarella cheese topped with more rich béchamel sauce and a small, decorative, portion of a tasty pesto. After trying to figure out how to gather and cut through the gelatinous mess, and eating about 4 bites, my partner and I both gave up and asked the waitress to remove it, which she promptly did. She asked if we would like dessert and we declined. She presented the bill, in full. We requested to speak with the manager and another pleasant, but unapologetic young woman appeared and said that we had been told it wasn't traditional lasagna, therefore, the owner wasn't inclined to reduce the charge. We responded that the issue wasn't the squash. The problem was the dish had no structure, and little flavor. It was all warm cheese, and overall, not very tasty, or interesting, for $72. Obviously, she didn't agree. So, bottom line, don't order the "lasagna." Whether or not you accept the attitude is your choice!
