I walked in on a rainy day. I brought my 1st Subaru in for an oil change. Previous to that I had spotted a new Subaru that I wanted, but I told myself I would wait the 2 weeks until I had my oil change appointment. When I went in for the oil change, if the car was still there I would look at it! Sure enough out there in the rain it was sitting there, rain dripping off of the car in beads. I asked the nearest sales consultant for help and I think I picked the right one. He helped me go through the process and the decision. He was patient with me, no pressure, as he presented me the numbers and I sat there thinking and staring out into the rain. Before that we test drove it. He took me on the highway which was great since that is about 90% of my driving. I really liked the car and we came back, still pouring rain, and I ran inside and we started crunching the numbers. Of course it is always a numbers game, but with some back and forth negotiation I was happy. I also said yes to the warranty before they even asked. I had it on my old Subaru and had to cancel it and buy a new one on this purchase. Well it was a deal and I was able to take the car home that day after deciding if I would come back the day after, during the week, or next weekend. The car was nice and clean, but It was not perfect. I am very detailed and it could have been more thoroughly cleaned. It was brand new so it wasn't a big deal. I also got the financing I wanted and the whole process was fairly smooth and typical from my past experiences. I was thanked for my business probably hundreds of times. It has been a week and I am loving my 2nd Subaru. I am so glad I found a dealership closer to home!! The only thing that would have made my experience better is if the dealership offered free maintenance like some other dealerships. I have to say there was not too much pressure. The finance process was also smooth and seamless and I was helped by a nice finance manager. Some of the numbers were off a little from what I remembered, but everything seemed to work out on the bottom line. Highly recommended. I would recommend to family and friends, but none of them are buying cars right now. read more

We have a 2010 Forester Unfortunately, a stone cracked the windshield while on the highway. The Subaru came with an electrically heated defroster that kept the wiper blades ice free. Since I felt that the best way to insure that we got an exact factory replacement windshield, going to the dealer was the safest bet. Turns out, the only safe bet with these guys is that you will be lied to and cheated! They put in the cheapest windshield they could find, without the heating elements, then told us that it was "a new design". The crook even said he put his hand on the windshield to test it and could feel the heat. Go elsewhere. read more

Bought a outback they begrudgingly agreed to a good deal. But my car was a Lemon. Had tran issue. Axel issues. And tires issues all in one year. They replaced all the stuff except tires and would not consider all were connected and tried to tell me it was my driving and because i had two out of seven repairs done at another Subaru dealership it was out of their control. Basically they are fine to buy car, don't bother with extended warranty and go to some other service center and you will be fine. I.e the do not stand behind their product and attack over advocating for you if a lemon vehicle. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. They overcharge, their "repairs" consistently turn into larger, more expensive problems within 24 hours of leaving their shop. Then they give you another absurd quote to fix what they broke. I'm not referring to minor things, they created major safety issues which they refuse to take responsibility for. I originally got a quote through email from Ali and Tracy after finding the car I wanted on CarGurus. The quote was significantly lower than other quotes I had gotten making me interested in buying from them. For over a week, I was emailing back and forth with them and wanted a clear cut quote as I didn't want to have to drive 1 1/2 hours down there so I asked many questions (what's not included in the quote, do I have to trade in a car, is there any stipulations) and I was told I didn't have to trade in a car, all the things not included in the quote were standard things (doc fees: 484, tax, registration). I spoke to another dealer and gave them the quote and they found that with the price they were quoting me, they'd lose ~$1,200. Again, I called and flat out mentioned what the other dealer said and asked how can they be making money in which they basically said it's just high volume and having to finance through them. I went down there and given a quote which was around $2,000 more than the online quote they gave me. The quote I was given and the online quote includes a recent graduate discount and a military discount which was never mentioned and online it only mentioned that you had to finance through them. The quote included financing for 72 months. If you don't finance through them it's an additional $1,500. When I mentioned that this was never mentioned to me and that I was lied to, Inna stated that the whole point of Tracy and Ali was to get me in which she used to excuse the lying. I was already given a lower quote with a dealership who isn't deceptive with pricing, gave me the exact car I wanted and didn't require I finance through them. Stateline was able to match the pricing but I had to finance 72 months, get a different color than I wanted that was off of the lot. I went in with the intention of buying a car that day and left due to their lies and immediately bought with a dealership I knew I could trust. Be very careful when purchasing a car here. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. A few months ago I got a new drivers belt put in. 1 month later I hear terrible squealing. I asked them if it was the belt, went out and looked at it and said "belt looks perfect sorry". I take it to my normal dealership to get my car detailed and he said oh yeah your drivers belt is cracked and glazed due to incorrect installation. So I got back to Subaru. He is rude and says we will call when we find out the problem. What do you know, it's my drivers belt. I go and pick my car up and not even an hour later, the squealing is terrible! I call aggravated and he said well maybe it was never the belt. So I said" so you changed my drivers belt again for free when it was fine? Did you actually check anything". And once again he said oh your belt needed an adjustment. No apology no nothing. I wanted to buy a car there too. There is no way I will go there again read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Not satisfied in the least. I am in the market for a New Subaru STI. Living in New England and owning a Camaro SS doesn't go together really well so I would like an AWD performance vehicle. 2 days ago I called the dealership and let them know that I was a serious buyer and had other dealerships giving me offers for STI's but lucky them, they have the only one in the area. Mind you they are over an hour away from me. Now as I talked to them and explained my situation on weighing prices (as well as considering other performance AWD vehicles) I was promised a test drive in their precious STI, against their own Protocol which is not let anyone test drive them. Feeling pretty special i drove my happy butt 1.5 hours to meet the sales team, drive and possibly buy the vehicle if they could match the price of the lowest dealer (which offered $1600 less then what they were offering). When I got there however I realised that I was 100% bold faced lied to over the phone, despite calling 2 days ago and making sure it was good with management as well as yesterday that i would indeed be able to test out the STI. Turns out in order to be an "exception" you have to put a $500 non-refundable deposit..... what? So you are telling me that I can't even test drive a vehicle to see if I like it without throwing hundreds of dollars at it? This isn't a Porshe.. its a Damn Subaru. Either way, I was unimpressed and was ready to walk out the door but was lured back in when my Sales Rep said he could lower the price. Turns out not on that car however, no; I would have to order one and wait 3 months for it to come. "The best they could do" was to match the lowest price... Not lower it for my troubles and being lied to, not waive any fees, just match. I drove over an hour to Drive this car when I could have easily drive 15 Minutes to Holmgren Subaru and have ordered a car with them as they were the best deal on the table... Nope, I went out of my way to these dishonest, bait and switch salesmen. End point being that there are plenty of other Subaru dealers that are willing to work with people interested in buying cars; don't waste your time with them - They don't offer the best price short of you walking out the door, aren't overly friendly (you should feel like family, not a number), they flat out lie which means they are also probably shady in other ways too, and apparently from other reviews they service department is utter crap as well. Do not buy a car from here. I found a car here that I wanted to purchase-I called and put a down payment on it. 3 days later I went down to purchase the car and they had sold it to someone else. Bought the car on a Sunday and it needed to be registered in NY. Stateline would register the car and deliver it to me, which they said it take about two weeks. A week later I called to check in and was assured that the all is well. Having heard nothing I called at the two week mark and spoke to Inna, Who said she would look into it and get back to me. If you hours later having heard nothing I called her again. She did not have an update. About 30 minutes later Josh called and let me know that two days after I had purchased the car, "the girls upstairs" Had to miss handled and lost the paperwork. It wasn't until my call this day that any attempt was made to rectify the situation. They were many excuses And I finally let Josh know that if the car was not at my home by end of business on Friday I would void the sale. The next day I asked for an update. No response. The day after I received a call from the driver stating that he was on the way to my house with the car. I never heard anything from Josh or Inna or anybody else from the dealer. read more

Had Alex as a sales associate, and a very positive experience with him. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the cars on the lot, the new Subarus and the assorted used-inventory as well. The day I arrived, it was raining hard. Alex made sure to have the umbrella ready at all times! I had called ahead for specific cars, and Alex had them ready to roll. Neither fit my interest perfectly, through no fault of the dealership at all. No pressure: he was 100% pro throughout, as were everyone I had occasion to speak with. Just bought a new Forester at Somerset Subaru and it was an excellent experience overall. Test drove four different cars and my salesperson, Josh, was very patient and also very knowledgeable about each of the models and what they had to offer. When I found the perfect car he again very patiently walked me through all the little details of the technology--hadn't bought a new car for fifteen years so a lot of the gadgetry was unfamiliar to me. Carlos, who did the financing, was professional and warm and friendly at the same time. Made me the best possible deal. Felt very happy and satisfied driving off the lot in my new car, and also felt like I had been helped by an excellent team of professionals.
