Well folks,, I came to see the brothers to buy some cheese and you know I'm trying to support the store so I get the store brand of cheese. I made grilled cheese sandwiches, which was no problem today this morning. I go to make some more grilled cheese sandwiches for my mom and what do I see the cheese is already molded so to my surprise I don't know why because the date said May 4 and as we see today, it is April 21, 2025 below you will see pictures of the cheese so they say the least I did not want to exchange for another package of cheese because I was totally grossed out when I spoke to the cashier and explained to her and showed her the cheese. She was understanding and asked me if I had the receipt. Well no I don't have the receipt. I mean you go to your grocery store you're not keeping the receipts to think that you're gonna have a problem and have to bring something back so I said no I didn't have the receipt so she asked if I wanted to go and get something as far as store credit. Well my answer was no why would I want any kind of anything out of the store after seeing what happened to the cheese, so the bottom line is, I didn't want store credit. I wasn't asking for my money back. I primarily wanted them to see what their product did instead of having great customer service. It was like I had just walked in and was trying to get something for nothing so I didn't appreciate the service that I received here at all. Disappointment. read more

I usually enjoy shopping at Stater Bros, but lately I've been disappointed with the level of professionalism at this location. Several employees spend a lot of time socializing and even flirting with each other while checking out customers. It's uncomfortable and makes me feel like my presence as a paying customer isn't valued. Friendly teamwork is great, but customer service should always come first. I really hope management provides some training and reminders about professionalism at the registers, because this store could be so much better with a little more focus on the customers. read more

This highly rated review is for an employee who works at this location. His name is Jimmy. I want this entire location to acknowledge this young man for his honorable act. Last week I went to go fill up my water jugs at the local water shop by the stater bros. I was waiting to use the self serving water station when I noticed a car pull up next to mine. I noticed 2 men sitting inside the car just watching me for a little while. I want to mention my kids were also in the car while I was standing out. Once I noticed these men looking at me and they started to get out of the car while eyeing me, I opened my car door and told my kid to lock to doors and stay inside. By this time the 2 men started to approach me really close and speaking Spanish. This man jimmy noticed this situation and came right over to me right away. The men saw him come near me to help protect me and /or my kids and they kept walking passed us. They started to walk away. Then jimmy stuck near me so I could get my waters from inside the water dispenser and watched me put it away while the men continued to watch me also. Then they started to walk back towards us and jimmy remained close to me and waited for them to continue to leave completely and watched me leave to avoid any further issues. I'm not saying they were targeting me directly or my children or if it was an innocent misunderstanding and they were just there but the facts are jimmy acknowledged this situation and came to my help! He helped saved me and my kids from what could have been a really really bad situation! He deserves all the praise and acknowledgment of this! Thank you sir! I have been coming here for quite some time and I have gotten to know a lot of the workers and they are all really nice. However the last few times I have been in the store I have dealt with this younger lady with Ginger-ish hair color and she is EXTREMELY rude. I'm a nice person so when she was rude to me the first time I thought oh she must've had a bad day. Until the second time I went with my mom and she is slamming our groceries into the bags. I bit my tongue because I was waiting to see if I could talk to a manger first but no luck. She is the only person here I've ever had a problem with and she is not friendly at all. I have smiled and been nice to her everytime I run into her but she gives me the most nasty look ever. I don't know how she got the job but she seriously needs an attitude adjustment. Like I said she is the younger lady with ginger or orangish hair and she has no name tag or else I would've put her name on here. Been a loyal shopper here for years but recently noticed that many of their products have been on the shelf long past their expiration date, like chips, pork rinds, rice puffs, candy, etc. It's probably best for me to not eat that, so maybe having items that expired in 2023 is a... good thing? Idk but feels pretty gross to know there's not someone checking the aisles for expired products. Service from cashiers and baggers is great, feel very comfortable here. Very friendly, easy to talk to front end. Ambiance is chaotic ever since the remodel. I get that they wanna be like Vons but it's been annoying going from knowing where everything was to feeling like I need a map just to go grocery shopping. Next time yall wanna remodel, pls just lower the prices instead It's rough out here. Or make like Vons fr and do rewards cards (free ones duh) read more

I have never wrote a review but I think this time this place deserves it. Never had a bad experience going to this location since I've been in the area for about 5 years now. But today I can say I had one of the best experiences by far ! Walked in to get what some groceries and as usual the manager of the store walking around making sure everything is fine. The times I have seen him always says hello and makes sure I have found everything as well as the families around . Very kind !!! When I get to the cash register and I was about to pay the cashiers looks at me and said "No you are not paying for your groceries " I look at him a bit confused because I didn't understand what was going on. Then he proceeds to pull out money from his own pocket and paid for my groceries! I don't even know if i said thank you to him because I was so in shocked and couldn't believe what was happening! This review is for the meat Dept. Elva helped me out today and she was amazing. She was super helpful and made my packages special. She separated the chicken breast, filleted them and cut the fat off for me. Finding people without an attitude is hard these days. We were impressed with both the service and the food. Equally surprising was the authentic sushi chefs preparing the rolls, all at very reasonable prices and with good variety and freshness. I'm done shopping at this Stater Bros. I've given them chance after chance for the quality of the food to improve, or the least be less toxic. Recently, I purchased frozen uncooked shrimp. I kept it in my freezer until ready to cook. It had a very strong ammonia odor. It's a good thing we didn't eat any of it. I researched and found when fish is spoiled and has bacteria, it gives off ammonia odor. The manager was very helpful and instructed me to get a refund. But that doesn't fix the problem of selling unsafe food. I've purchased produce that was rotten and popsicles that had melted and refrozen. This store has problems with the refrigeration or lack of staff knowledge to keep food fresh and good quality on the shelves. read more

Worse vegetables and fruits I've bought their, in just a few days they spoil. I've taken them back to store and they ask do I want the same no give me money back. Their fruit is horrible. Today I was getting milk and saw some black ash like stuff on milk cartons. I looked up the rack where I found black molds covered and that's what fell on the milk cartons below. Molds can be dound in every rack. I think staffs need to look and clean those racks. It was pretty disgusting. I will be shopping again here within two weeks and don't want to find those molds there again. read more

First off I'd like to say that Staters is probably one of if not my favorite grocery store to shop at with wonderful atmosphere and employees. However I might have to go somewhere else. After what many would call surviving another hellish summer heat in California where if you walked outside you could feel your skin begin to burn, came to and end finally or so we thought. If you walk into the store now for some reason they have the heater on blast! It's like a heat nightmare, it's almost November and walking into the store had me feeling like summer is back. I could barely manage to get what I needed for dinner before I suffered a heat stroke. I feel bad for the employees who have to wear long sleeve and pants. If they keep the heater on I'll have to only get 3 items top each time I go or go to Ralph's down the street(hopefully not). Also they should change the music selection because I hear the same songs every time I go in. It's kinda depressing and feels like some kind of brainwash tactics. Overall it's one of my favorite stores but please turn off the heater, I'd appreciate it. (Gave rating 5 stars because nothing wrong with store satisfaction just turn heater off) read more

There is one woman in particular that I avoid at all costs because she is the worst when it comes to bagging groceries. I will even switch to a longer line just so she doesn't touch my food. I did wait to speak to speak to the manager but I don't know if it'll do any good, I shop there all the time never have been treated like that, of all times , really! I'm going to give it a 2 star just because I like the place but I had a HORRIBLE experience today. Right when I got to the cashier to pay, the lady that assisted me, was greeted by another co worker who offered to help with whatever she may need. Well let me tell you something, this cashier is by far the WORST co worker I have EVER came across. She treated the other individual as if she were less than a dog. Barking orders and snapping her fingers at her. She was tryin to make it clear that she was an OG at the store and that she knew what she was doing but she degraded the other female. I just think it's funny how God has a way of punishing those that are cruel because a minute after she was rude to her co worker, a bunch of detergent fell on her and even then she couldn't humble herself. She demanded that the co worker clean up after HER MESS. What!? Any way, I thought this was ridiculous and just let you know that you should really have a talk with that lady. I love this Stater Bros! It is well organized, the staff is friendly and is always so clean.

I'm expecting this location to go out of business soon. They spent a lot of money to redo the market and all they did was relocate everything making it impossible to find anything where once I knew for years exactly where everything was. To make it worse, the meat department has horrible food practices. They are not safe with cross contamination at all. I was ordering some sliced meat from the deli which is right next to the raw meat department. The lady was helping me and the phone went off, the guy who was cutting meat asked her if she was going to get it and she asked him if he would, he did not remove his gloves at all, just picked up the phone, the one the deli uses for taking orders. Once he was done, he didn't disinfect it or even wipe it off, just went back t o work and a few minutes later I saw one of the ladies from the deli pick up the phone, instant contamination. I will no longer be getting meat or cheese from the deli. The last few times I went to the meat counter they had new employees up front who haven't been trained. One didn't know what butterflied meant, nor did they know how to cut up meat into one inch cubes. One time I asked one of the butchers to grind a roast for me and he argued with me, saying why don't i just take the hamburger. He said the grinder was clean and he didn't want to have to use it for a special order. I pushed on the fact that I don't use meat that has already been ground up without me doing it myself or seeing it done on my own so he went in back, gone for less then 2 minutes and came back with meat that I could tell was hamburger and not the roast I picked out. I just left it on the counter and decided to go to a place that doesn't have a problem doing what I want with my meat. Another one used her bare hands (they use to wear gloves) to pick up my chicken after she had cut it up roughly. I almost said I wouldn't take it but now I'm just thinking I need to find another market. It's a shame as I've been going to this Stater's for more then 20 years now. Not anymore read more
