Once I came in looking for Cornish hens there were no more in the freezer where I had first seen them a few days prior Johny noticed I was looking around and asked if he could help me find something I asked about the Cornish hens he rushed to the back and after some searching came back with the Cornish hens. He even grew an attitude with me when I called & tried to request information to speak to a supervisor above him so I can make a report about his behavior. Man I love this store. I've been coming here for over 20 years. Since a little kid. This Stater bros location has been serving this small community for years. And I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff there. The butchers there are so knowledgeable in their cuts. Some OGs have been butchers with over 20+ years of experience. They just had an amazing renovation with a new sushi bar, fruit bar, and ready to eat food. The floors and walls have been redone. You can definitely see the love that staters has put into this store. Even that classic sign got redone. Security there is top notch. Shout out to the homie Brian for always showing love and staying on his toes. A+ employee right there. The staff is cool. Honestly if you want to experience bad customer service this specifically is the store to go to the meat department doesn't greet you or pay attention to you but would rather talk to their coworkers, wont bother to open a restroom for you when they have no customers and will have you wait for them to WANT to serve you instead of doing a JOB that they signed up for. Sign up for a warehouse job if you can't stand dealing with people. I didn't even bother to wait any longer and left without getting what i came for. I couldn't get the name of the man back there as he purposely had his name tag flipped so you couldn't see his name so that leads me to believe he knows he is doing something wrong. Upfront is another review worth noting that my cashier was playing around and would rather put effort in to making dad jokes than to put the effort into swiping a simple item across a scanning board wasting everyone else's time behind me. But a piece of advice and you could take it from me and the other reviews left on this specific store can speak for me. I usually shop at the Limonite store, which is actually not as good as it used to be, but still far better than this one. There was only one line open and I had to wait much longer than I ever do at Limonite or other Staters. I feel like they are not very accommodating because of their location/clientele, however that is no reason to lower their standards. Also, while this long line was growing, there were literally three staff (2 checkers and one box person) all chatting at the register about the box boy's girl problems. We traveled from Northern CA to put on a 90th birthday party for our Dad. We brought a lot of food along, but had to shop for many fresh items after we arrived. We found what we needed at great prices. The highlight was the birthday cake we ordered. I had tried 4 bakeries and no one was available. I was hesitant to order a grocery store cake, not having experienced a great product in the past. But left with no options, I ordered. Marie was so pleasant, efficient and helpful on the phone. The cake was beautifully decorated -- just perfect and I'd given very little direction regarding this aspect other than the writing. And the cake itself was EXCELLENT! I could not have asked for more -- other than if I'd saved myself a lot of time and concern and just started with the bakery at Stater Bros! read more

I have been coming here for years at least once a week, every week. And the last few times I have seen an employee by the name of "Ruby", I hadn't seen her here before. The last few times I have been there she is the bagger and is the most rudest employee I have encountered at stater brothers. All the other employees are friendly and smiling but she is very unfriendly and rude. Last time I went she made a rude comment to her co worker because a customer wanted to swap out his milk since his was leaking. The reason I go to Stater Bros is to get cash back vs me driving to my Chase bank to get money out like i said I am a local customer and most of the time I go in the morning walking and of course i do purchase a item to get cash out. ( i grew up in riverside move to West Covina and I am back to Riverside for temporary) This is my first yelp complain because I am shock of Freddie E. Yesterday, Wednesday February 7, 2018 at 7:36 a.m. come to the store to get cash back so I purchase a trident white bubble gum for $1.49. and request cash back for $100.00. I told Freddie E. Can i have all 20 bills he ignore me and i notice he was getting only 4 of 20 dollar bills 1 of 10 dollar bill, 1 of 5 dollar bills and 5 of 1 dollar bills... I mention to him "I do know you have more 20 dollar bills on your cash register"... he reply back saying " I know but I don't want to give it away" I was like what? with his response and coming here for many years never ever experience an employee like that or in other super market. That morning wasn't busy at all to get extra bills. Stater Bros. is a good fit for the neighborhood (Rubidoux), I have shopped at Stater Bros. in the High Desert for 20 years and have usually had a positive experience shopping there. They have hit the sweet spot of good selection, competitive pricing and prompt service. You will not find a lot of hard to find items though, but they have a real butcher counter and very knowledgeable and helpful butchers. Some of the stores (Apple Valley) have their own bakeries and have fresh bread and pastries daily, also the sour dough baguettes are to die for. read more

I have been here about 100 times. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATES BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CHECK. I've purchased expired items at least 3 times in one month there. That's ridiculous. The staff are generally nice but they tend to grab random people to ring up instead of taking the next person in line. The gentleman there seem to be more kind then the women not sure why. I only come here because it's close to going home otherwise I would never shop here. The gentleman in the meat department are patient and kind and the baggers are usually sweet. Maybe the staff reflect the location the store is in, its kind of located in a run down dirty area so maybe the customers they usually see don't care about customer service or products that are not out of date. I was on my way home from visiting a friend and stopped at this store knowing it was in a rougher neighborhood than my usual grocery store but it was more convenient. Apparently the management is aware as well and feels quality isn't as important because there was no pride in their fruit and veggie selections. This store is unpleasantly terrible! I remember coming here with my parents when I was younger. I don't quite remember how the service was back in the day, but I know how much it sucks now! I went to the meat department yesterday and asked for 10 pounds of chuck roast, before entering the cashiers lane my parents called me to tell me that they had already bought some and for me not to buy it anymore because it would go to waste. So I politely told the cashier I wasn't going to take it. She proceeded to charge me for the rest of my groceries and midway through the butcher comes to me and says what's wrong with the meat? With the meanest look of discrimination and hate on his face! Mind you I still got over $200 in groceries! I told him what happened and he walked away slurring nonsense under his breath. He made me feel so disrespected and stupid because he asked in a loud tone in front of everybody!
