Today was my first time ever shopping at Stater Brothers. The store was well stocked. The Produce Department looked very fresh and the Meat Department was well stocked as well. I did ask a employee passing by me where the soft drinks were located. and i was told where they were. I found what I was looking for and was pleasantly surprised to see the prices were alot lower then I've seen at other markets. When I was in line to check out a second cashier opened up another register. The cashier I had was very polite and greeted me when I was next in line. Over all I was happy with my first shopping experience. Will definitely make this Stater Brothers my choice to shop for groceries. The store was clean and the aisles were clear. read more

Customer service? What customer service? The meat department employee, Devan, was openly rude, argumentative, and seemed personally offended when I wanted to make my own selection. Apparently, customers are expected to accept his choices without question. If you disagree or ask for something different, be prepared for him to raise his voice and challenge you. God forbid a paying customer wants to choose her own steak! What is even more disappointing is management's apparent unwillingness to address this behavior. Poor service is one thing; tolerating an employee who speaks to customers this way is another. There are plenty of better options in the neighborhood where customers can purchase quality meat while being treated with basic dignity and respect. No one should have to settle for subpar products, rude service, and employees who appear to lack both proper training and professionalism. read more

"It's our meats that made us famous "???? Really???? Picked up a package of boneless pork ribs. Got home and opened it to a really bad smell and then noticed it was past the "sell-by" date. This is an older store don't have all the newer stuff like bakery or fresh cut fruit. The produce is always well stocked . Most of the employees nice but the meat department people can be so rude sometimes. The are supposed to be customer service orientated very much lacked at the store. read more

Shannon in the meat department was super helpful. She selected the perfect looking steaks and seasoned them for me. She even recommended her favorite seasoning, the Malibu one. Whenever Shannon and the young guy, I forgot his name, are working it always seems to be pretty well stocked and fresh. I'm excited to grill these steaks later! Today I went to the del and was greeted by one of the guys in meat department that told me she was on call she will be right with me and literally waited a long while till finally a young girl with long dark hair came out from the back with attitude when I said I will take half pound and see if that's enough before I choose a pound, when I said I will go with pound of potato wedges she literally seemed upset dumping my potatoes from bag to box. Not sure what her problem was but to get that type of service was just uncalled for when I can definitely shop somewhere else. read more

I've been shopping at this store for 20years. Good store overall, with generally helpful and congenial employees. However, I've never seen anyone ruder than one of the meat department guys. He's been wearing on my nerves or months now, but I've run out of tolerance for his behavior. I shopped today, January 7th at noon for my weekly $220 grocery order. Don't know his name, but he's the fat guy that's been ruining my mornings. Walks up and stares , no comment. I tell him my order, he throws it on the counter and walks away. The San Dimas Staters is our favorite shopping location, even though we actually live much closer to other supermarkets (and even the La Verne Stater Brothers). Their prices can't be beat, and the store is always well-stocked and cleanly. I usually shop early in the day and always find it pleasantly refreshing to be greeted by staff working throughout the store as I make my rounds. Similarly, the checkout staff (both service clerks and assistants) are friendly and efficient. Although most recognize me, this is courtesy I see extended to all customers. The meat counter is equally accommodating. Hey (as we know), "It's their meat that made them famous!" Service is quick and any special requests are executed with expertise (i.e. cutting an order of ribs a particular way, recommending preparation for a particular cut of meat, or simply trimming a cut from the counter display case). This is an older (smaller) location, so it lacks the size and services some of the newer locations include (such as an expanded bakery and food service counter). I've been told that some of these are on the way. Regardless, San Dimas Stater Brothers - even as an "oldie but goodie" - is a keeper! read more

I used to go to this stater bros weekly although I now frequent the one on Grand. I went last night Friday 2/20/26 at around 7pm. I walked up to 15 items or less said hello, cashier (kamryn or camryn) was very dry and muttered when asking if i needed a bag i said yes. I noticed one of the items was more in price than i expected i asked her if she could remove it and i also apologized. She in turn sighed looked to the side annoyed and i said "I'm sorry my fault" she said nothing clearly in a sour mood or maybe this is just them/her. I'm a nurse i work with people daily and if working with people isn't a good fit for you, you shouldn't be doing it. I left feeling embarrassed as there were customers behind me and cashier was clearly not happy. It isn't the first time this has happened here i just don't remember previous cashiers name as it's been months, female tall young blonde who was exceptionally rude. I live by you don't know what people are going through and any little joy you give can make a huge difference. read more

Let me start by saying I absolutely love this market. I am there EVERYDAY and have been, for, well literally, YEARS. The vast majority of the people that work here are some of the absolute BEST, and they are the reason I come back day after day. Sharisse, Ally and Joe are WONDERFUL (to name just a few) in the front. They are warm, welcoming and their customer service is beyond reproach. My issue and the reason for my , rather than the five stars I want to give is in the deli. Again, the majority of the people in the deli are WONDERFUL. Alex, Lexie, Kaitlynn, David, Maria - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. The unfortunate weak link here, and it is a real problem, stems from incredibly poor deli management. A manager is a leader, they should do just that. They should lead by example diving in to ALL tasks and taking customer experiences and service seriously. That is not what we have at this store, to say the least. I again, am a customer there every single day to pick up a regular daily order. The current deli manager cannot order the items necessary to have my order and actively encourages staff to make other foods that MAY be sold, instead of my own that actually WILL be sold. Time after time I arrive to pick up my order only to find it isn't ready or cannot even be made because those items were not properly ordered by deli management. In the past, my order was never a problem and my orders were always easily fulfilled. The issues my family have been having only started a few months ago when deli management was changed. I truly wish that this issue can be taken seriously and addressed, I do not wish to change stores but am starting to feel I have no other option. read more

Today I was at Staters and was reminded why I keep coming back here. I ran in to John P. and asked him about a product without realizing he was on his lunch break. He was as helpful as always, pointed me in the right direction, and didn't seem to mind he was on his own time. To me, this showed great customer service and a good work ethic. I'm in this store at least once a week and have had several interactions with John P. He has always been professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. (To my understanding they have a sheet that they usually scan whenever they need to get the code on certain products. This is the last time I will ever go back to this Stater Bros location. The minute you walked in the store you remember why you don't shop there on a regular basis. The employees seem to try to do everything they could not help you to get to just leave. I went to the meat department and checked the case for a sale item. Of course there was none because they always seem to be out of stock in the meat case. I then went to the meat counter and I asked the clerk if he had more about the sales item. He told me what ever is case is what they have . I told him I didn't see any in the case and he said then go check the front case. I picked up a few more items and then went to the front case. Well what do you know, it was empty. That is so frustrating and a waste of time. I left my basket at the front of the store filled with the items and walked out. I knew I shouldn't even thought that they were gonna have anything because I've been in there before and of course the meat department does not wanna help you whatsoever.. same thing happens at the meat counter a while back, I asked a female clerk if she could help me find a particular cut and she told me whatever is in the case of what they have turned around . I normally shop at the one On Grand or Azusa because they're the department counter service is so much better. I guess that's what happened because I was trying to save time. read more

Yesterday I had to pick up some groceries from Stater's after a long day of work. After about an hour, I forgot to pick up some sliced meat and cheese from the deli. As soon as I approached the window area, I was greeted by a kind and professional young man by the name of Johnny. He was quite thorough, his multi-tasking abilities were also appreciated, along with his time managerial skills. I hope Johnny can be recognized for his job well done in the deli department. The older gentleman cashier John is not very nice. I have been through his line many times and I always leave wondering if I did something wrong and why this random man hates me so much. He never says hello, he acts like I'm inconveniencing him somehow. My husband feels the same way, so I know I'm not crazy. I literally rather wait in a long line to avoid this man. He needs some serious customer service training or to be placed way in the back of the store stocking eggs or something. I am a regular customer at this location. I love all the employees here and they are all very helpful and nice and have the best customer service. However the passed 2 weeks i have encountered an issue that really bothered me. Not one but 2 of your cashiers treated me very badly, on different days. The first was a girl named Blanca, from the second i got in line she had a very bad attitude, no smile on her face, no hello how are you today .. nothing. Very rude and unfriendly. She rollled her eyes at me when i asked for my meat to be in a separate bag, and completely ignored me when i asked her how her day was going.. when she handed me my receipt she walked away without even finishing bagging my stuff and didn't say have a good day or thank you or anything. The second was a girl named cierra. She was rushing me the entire time i was checking out and had absolutely no personality. When she bagged my groceries she wouldn't put them in my cart, when i asked her to she just stared at me with a blank stare on her face like i didn't say anything. i had to get up and put them in myself. I was using an electric cart this day as i have back and knee problems. Needless to say, both of these girls acted like they hate their job and didn't want to be there or help me and have good customer service. Luckily this has never happened before and i hope they get talked to by supervision because this attitude and type of behavior is unacceptable in my opinion. I am a very friendly and understanding man and understand people have bad days sometimes. But this was uncalled for and i wasn't happy. read more

He was very impatient with the elderly lady in front of us who was having a difficult time with her debit card and it was pretty obvious that he wasn't very happy with the way we placed our groceries on the conveyor belt. I would give this Stater's 5 stars if only they kept the produce section up. Green beans are generally brown spotted and the strawberries could be less blemished and soft. However, the meat counter and deli area are always helpful. You are serviced politely and quickly. The Kruse' bacon behind the counter is excellent because it's thick and evenly sliced. The fried chicken is usually recently made. ( hot and crispy). Try also the bacon ends that they package for the meat self serve shelf. I like that they will bag my groceries in my own bags since they have resumed "bring your own bag " despite the COVID-19 issue. I know the state has stopped mandating that restriction; other grocery stores will not bag for you if you bring a bag in, but this Stater's will. read more

Decent grocery store, but won't be coming back because of what happened the other day. This has been a tough and trying times for a lot of people. My worry lies mostly with the elderly (really, this should be yours too). As we were putting our groceries on the belt, there was an elderly lady in front of us (maybe 75). She had gloves on, which was a safe choice on her behalf. She had 6 frozen dinners and the cashier said there's a 2 item limit on them and she can only pick two. My friend then told the lady she would buy two of them and gift them to her in which the cashier scolded her and said "that defeats the purpose, you cannot do that!" And didn't allow her to purchase them for the lady. I'm sorry, but any intelligent person would know from what we are seeing with Italy and China is that the ELDERLY are being the ones hit hard with this. They are the ones dying. I do not see how it was wrong for my friend to want to help out someone who is at HIGH risk. It is not defeating the purpose of the limit because the elderly lady was NOT buying them for herself. So because paying it forward was not allowed here, this lady will have to make another trip to the store where she is surrounded by possible asymptomatic people (people who are carriers with no symptoms) and risk her life just so she can feed herself. What if she can't cook either? And now we are torn having to think about what could happen to this lady in the future all because good deeds aren't allowed in this establishment. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: intelligent people learn from the mistakes of others. If we don't protect our elderly, then people will start losing those they care about. I'd understand if something like this happened at a Costco or a larger chain, but smaller establishments should be the ones with people in mind more so than others. read more

Dangerous! LAZY. On Sat March 21 around 2pm I went to Stater Bros. San Dimas. ASSUMING they were monitoring the # of people, cleaning with employees and being cautious. I quickly realized the store was PACKED, no monitoring of the high volume of people shopping. I saw not one employee cleaning as I opened a freezer door, etc. Getting out quickly, I see the employees at the register were not even wearing gloves. No masks. I asked to speak w/ a manager - the lady tells me - oh, we're counting. No they weren't, no employee was at the door monitoring - I told her that, too. She didn't appreciate that. When I asked why the employees weren't wearing gloves, even the employees were looking at her like 'why not'? NOT ACCOMMODATING public guidelines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My husband and I were at the meat counter being helped by John P. We had a few questions about chuck steaks and he was very helpful. Then we ordered a pound of bacon and instead of passing it over the counter, John walked around to bring it to us personally. Along with the bacon, John handed me a $25 Stater Bros gift certificate and said this was his good deed for the day. i was so surprised and thanked him and asked if I could hug him. Since that day I have seen John P in the dairy section and at the check-out. He must be a Jack of all trades and definitely an asset to Stater Bros. I went to stater bros for a prime rib went to 3 other grocery stores no one had one finally at stater bros on arrow I went and met Joseph D he was great help first was busy in back stopped what was doing helped me and my wife we did not know the size we needed he was patient showed us the difference size and which would be best to cut most meat he then cut suggested seasoning and seasoned it and even suggested and explained tie and wrap process might be better for us last I got one from another store they just cut it said once I cut it it's yours.
