Small regional grocery/specialty store chain that originated in the San Gabriel Valley. I've only been to the Upland location, so just describe my experience here. But I suspect that the other locations are similar. The space itself is not super large, but they have a great variety of imported Italian goods. I think the main draw is their deli counter which they have a menu of different Italian sandwiches. The service from the deli counter and the checkout counter was great. They have the usual take a number system and the people that are very friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering a Great Grandpa Joe, which is their traditional sandwich staple. Lots of delicious Italian meat, some cheese, and a little bit of sliced pepperoncini and oil dressing. Delicious. I really only came in for the sandwich, but I couldn't help myself and ended up buying some sauces, some pastas, and a few other treats and items I can use later in the week. I think they also make some products in house like sausages and pizzas.

Love this spot! Here's why: 1. Super fresh made to order deli sandwiches 2. Great selection of imported pastas, sauces & snacks 3. Friendly staff who know their stuff. Everyone talks to you! 4. Clean, old-school market vibe 5. Perfect for stocking up on unique grocery items. It's always a fun trip!

Mama mia! What an amazing deli! I hadn't been to Claro's in years. This place is so cute, has amazing products and I always enjoy when I come in here to shop. Staff is also friendly and helpful. While in the area, I decided to give their deli sandwiches a try. I had been eyeing them for a while and finally decided to go for it. I decided to go with the Great Grandpa Joe, size small. It comes with capocollo, mortadella, dry salame, provolone cheese, lettuce tomato, sliced pepperoncini and oil dressing. The small is a pretty good size, and it is NOT small on flavor. This may be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life! The bread was soft, but held together well and didn't fall apart. Everything was so fresh and the pepperoncinis took the sandwich over the top! They sell their sandwich oil and that may need to be a purchase I make soon. Great place to shop, and a great place to grab lunch!

Everything you need for Sunday red sauce and more! The meatballs are an amazing. We always have them in our freezer. Recently tried the meatball raviolis and loved it. Warning, the cookie counter is dangerous....dangerously delicious.

After two employees responded in a rude way , I walked two door Down and got a great sandwich and great service.

Rude staff and poor business practices. I was super excited to be a return customer But being that I do a mobile service.I obviously wanted to wash my hands before eating a sandwich.I asked if I could use a bathroom and was told they don't have a public restroom. Any restaurant that serves food should have a restaurant or somewhere for people to wash their hands. I stepped back , walked up to the counter , grabbed a number and was standing at the glass , treating the menu and set my stanley cup on the counter. One of the employees said to me kind of rudely. Can you move your cup? And said , we put deli meats there. I don't think that's up to code to set raw jelly beans on the counter top.And I think he was honestly more put off than I was standing at the glass rather than standing back like the other customers so I can read the menu. It's not a matter of what you ask. It's how you ask is by that point.I was fed up , I walked out and went to the pizza place and got a delicious ball sub with fast friendly service and used the bathroom to wash my hands.. I've been to the Corona location a few times I won't hold this against them, because they do have a bathroom and their staff has always been friendly about the people at this establishment need to work on their people, skills and realize they serve food.People need to use a restroom and wash their hands.

The uncle Bob. The pastrami was awesome

I would highly recommend. This is a great little market. The food is very fresh, and they have the best salami in So Cal.

Do you have italian rum cake?

As I was buying my sausages. soft pretzels, and potato salad, the lady said very little to me and the gentleman, nothing at all. When I tried speaking German, the lady said she didn't remember much of the language anymore. This blunt, "tell it like it is" way of interacting is pretty much how my family used to be, so I found it familiar -- even comforting. But it's easy to see how this can rub people the wrong way, especially if they're used to American (or even modern German) - style customer service. Everyone who found this rude is making reasonable statements. But to me this is more a case of people who have been doing the same thing for a long time without making updates. Decor-wise, place also seems to recreating the Germany that someone remembers from decades ago. The blue and white bunting, the beer steins, the picture of the Pope and other memorabilia make the place feel distinctly Bavarian, in a touristy way. A lot of places in Germany, even in the more traditional south have moved on. But my hope is that this place does continue until the proprietors retire with dignity or sell the business to some German-Americans with a passion for prepping and selling this type of food.

A most near second is the braised short rib, served with a delectable and cloud-soft heap of mashed potatoes. Of lesser note were the wagyu tacos, pigs in a blanket, and the maple pecan butter cake, which proved but ordinary in their savor. Why gave I it four? - Forsooth, the service remaineth most excellent, the choices ample, and the fare overall commendable. Know thou, many of the draughts afore-mentioned were priced for happy hour as a small note. Of those dishes deemed but middling, the wagyu tacos and pigs in a blanket lacked that wondrous spark upon the tongue. Lastly, the dry-aged ribeye, though served with seasoning apart, did taste somewhat over-salted to mine palate. Yet, these faults did not greatly diminish mine experience for I retain my favored dishes and shall return anon.
