Was looking for a brunch spot that had bottomless mimosas that also allowed kids. Found this place thanks to Yelp and made reservations within 2 hours of my seating! They have a nice variety menu for brunch and I ended up getting a Benedict and potatoes brunch. Overall, I thought the food was just OKAY. However, they had pretty strong mimosas which made up for it! They have a 90 minute period for mimosas and their glasses are big and filled to the top. Also, the place has an extremely nice ambiance! Very understanding of the pandemic but we didn't have the best experience here. The start of the decline was the restaurant had 0 heat on on a freezing day. The steak and eggs were over cooked and the 2nd version was raw, the seasonal fruit was stale and literally was bruised and dried. The service was ok but the best thing about the place was the drinks. I always see this place on OpenTable and it looks pretty cute but the prices and quality of the meal don't match up. This place was classy and cute at a reasonable price point. Honestly, I didn't love my meal - you can enjoy crab, brie and omelettes individually, but mixing the three together actually results in something pretty unpleasant. If I was basing my rating solely on my food, it would be a three, but they made an A+ bloody Mary and the service/ambiance was nice. I am leaving this review after being denied service on 7/30/2021. The website says they are open till midnight on Friday, but I walked in at 11:15 pm and a group of employees from the back yelled "We're closed", as if I was wrong for walking through the unlocked doors and attempting to give them business on a Friday night. I asked the bartender what time they closed, and he said "ehhhh, the website says twelve, but we closed at eleven tonight because the place is empty." I'll admit, the place was empty, but what benefit do you get out of closing 1 hour early? What if you just sent a few of the guys that are hanging out in the back home, to reduce labor costs for that last hour? There is a chance that you'll get someone (like me) hoping to grab some food and/or a drink before midnight. This business lists one of its specialties on Yelp as "late night". That needs to be removed. I have lived within walking distance of Station 4 for three years now and have been a frequent customer strictly out of convenience. They have missed the mark on multiple occasions, but my expectations were never that high. If you're in the area of the Wharf, and don't want to pay the high prices for brunch or dinner, then Station 4 is a decent option. Just know that you'll still be over charged by a place with a weird restroom setup, constant gnats in the bar area, and a great view of Safeway and the Waterfront Metro. From what I've seen, Station 4 does have a consistent group of customers who know the staff and each other by name, and seem to enjoy their service, food and company. But for me, the atmosphere is just way off. I'm no business man, but I believe this place would do much better if it marketed itself as a hole in the wall, neighborhood bar. I believe the business already operates itself as such, and it would be a good contrast from whats available a block away at the Wharf. They can still do bottomless mimosas, and other brunchy things on Sundays, but I wouldn't be upset if my neighborhood bar closed early on a Friday night. That's something to be expected. read more

Food was very good but there were hitches with the service. Only one drink menu for 6 people. At the beginning, one of our party said she wanted a separate check. At that point, we realized we all did except for me and my husband, who were happy with one. We were told by the waitress that they could only accept 4 credit cards for our party, so 2 of our party said they could split a check. Then the end of the meal and only one check arrived. The waitress said we we would have to look at it and calculate how much each party owed. Time consuming and irritating after we had asked for the charges to be split. Then after we had determined the cost of each party and given the waitress our four cards, there was an additional wait of approximately 15 minutes for the cards and checks to come back. They should step up and fix this bad service. read more

I've been to Station 4 a few times now, and each time have found it to be overwhelmingly mediocre at best. One night after going to a theater show, for instance, we walked in after leaving the theatre and noted the "please wait to be seated" sign. So we waited. And we looked around at all the people at the bar, and the few occupied tables in the dining room, and we went to find someone to seat us. And we waited. And when we were walking over to the hostess, she was rushing off to the back. And we waited longer, and we were eventually were seated without much ado, and eventually had our chicken and salad brought out (I've also had the margherita pizza, which was ehh). Overall, there just wasn't a lot of flavor in anything, and the service is typically glacial, even if there are only 3 other people in the entire restaurant. I've been here for happy hour as well, and each time I have been here, I've been left wanting in terms of service and food, unfortunately. It's essentially the only thing open after a late show, though, so at least it was there on this particularly rainy night. But all in all, my feelings about Station 4 range from "meh" to "nah." read more

The establishment is directly across the street from the Waterfront Metro Station (green line) and about a block or two away from The Wharf in SW Washington, D.C. Station 4 prefers for reservations (large parties) to call ahead two days earlier and that only four credit/debit cards be used to pay the parties tab, however, everyone else can pay with cash. The waitress that was assigned to my party (Olga/Helga) was phenomenal and she accolades the party as applicable. The came out quick, our cups stayed full. Customer service was definitely on point. My issues were more so with the restrooms, climate, and food quality. The restrooms are open and unisex without the option of offering privacy to people while using the restroom. I understand the concept and respect the idea, but at least put a door up or a curtain. The seafood tasted old. Out of a party of thirteen, no one liked the food. Unfortunately, I did not taste any food at this establishment due to the absolute disgusting service from the waiter my partner and I encountered. After making a late night reservation on OpenTable due to having a busy day, I wanted an enjoyable meal. The food reviews were pretty good. The location was easy to get to and parking wasn't bad, we parked in the Safeway garage across the street from the restaurant. After quickly being seated, we were greeted by a waiter (whose name I did not obtain due to him not offering this information), that stated something ending with "it had been a long day". I understand it was after 10pm, but professionally it should not be directly expressed to customers that you are flustered and ready to leave work. This sort of passive-aggressive attitude continued from him when I changed my mind about a French 75 cocktail due to the champagne being flat (visibly no bubbles at all). I asked to replace the drink with a glass of wine. My partner ordered a Cabernet and asked for this to be replaced as well with another glass due to not liking the taste. Simple requests. We asked what wine was in the glass that we were given so that we could order something else and the gentleman waiting our table could not tell us. He tactlessly suggested we get a whole bottle (after 10pm we only wanted one glass not four). He then stated he has 'Josh' brand wine and he will get that. Once we received the replacements of wine, he looked at me and asked if I own a wine cellar, if I have traveled to Italy and visited all of the winery's there since I'm a wine connoisseur. This was completely out of line and unwarranted. I would not recommend visiting based on the crassness of this person! The audacity. Pretty average place with a large price tag. I came here at an odd hour on a Saturday and could only get the limited bar menu. The prices were on the higher end and you couldn't make any changes to the entrees. The food was good, but $18 for a personal pizza is a bit steep. We ordered the crab and artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was tasty, but served with only three pieces of bread. This made it hard to share with a group. Station 4 is conveniently across the street from the Waterfront metro. I think if I'm going to pay the prices I did for that area I'd rather go down to the waterfront for more variety. read more

This restaurant was great location to the waterfront, The Wharf, Arena Stage located in SW DC. I rated it a four because of the food and service. When we first walked in the young lady hostess spoke and seated us however the other lady at the front desk didn't open her mouth to great us. The bathroom is unisex and in a awkward setup near the corner with one share small sink. The place looks much larger on the website even from the outside. We ordered the pork ribs and fish and chips my daughter enjoyed the ribs, the broccolini was tasty but I didn't care for the potatoes. I ordered the fish and chips the fries were cooked like fries nothing spectacular and the fish let's just say I've had better fish sticks. If I we decide to visit again I will try something else. I was only here for the late night hours so I can only review that time. My friends and I came around 10:30-11pm-ish and stayed for at least an hour. We were celebrating my friends bday and got a few drinks! My coworker was working with Corbin Bleu at a play and he came to this bar as well! The server was attentive and the drinks are good. After last night, I probably wouldn't be quick to visit Station 4 again. I called on March 26th to make a reservation for a party of 14 for my birthday dinner that would be happening on April 20th. I called the day before to confirm that my reservation was in on the 19th and was told it wasn't. I don't know who I initially spoke to but apparently they didn't book the reservation. Fortunately, Station 4 still accepted my reservation for the next day so all was well. I arrived at 8:20 for an 8:30 reservation and was told to wait at the bar until half my party showed and then we'd be seated at 8:30. When half my party showed the hostess changed said "my manager said the whole party has to be here then we'll sit you" contradictory to what she had JUST told me. The table was set for nine people so I think they were just waiting for more tables to finish so that they could finish setting up my table - which was fine if they had communicated that. Finally we get seated a little after 8:45. Our waiter comes and introduced him selves and says he'll be back to take drink orders. Some time goes by and I have to ask a hostess to send a waiter back so that we can get our drink orders in. This is pretty much how the rest of the night went with getting food and drinks to the table. Have to ask or remind the wait staff about things that were ordered but missing. Our waiter was clearly overwhelmed and I definitely don't fault that because it was a table of 14, but there were things that definitely could've been avoided including forgotten drinks, things on the receipt that weren't ordered, entrees rang in differently than ordered that made clearing the bill a little difficult at the end (14 people and they do not split checks). I only docked two stars because the food and drinks were still good and our server Omar let us know that he was new and I understood that. I would definitely shy away from Station 4 for a group event. read more

Not sure why because, there are certainly a lot of other bars and restaurants in the vicinity, particularly at the Wharf. Call it user error, I suppose. It's nice inside, trendy looking, but nothing really stood out for me in terms of decor. It looked like every other trendy restaurant. Bland, in my opinion. In fact, I am struggling with this review because there was nothing extraordinary-good or bad-in terms of atmosphere or food. Actually, that's not entirely accurate. My pumpkin soup was quite good. We sat at a high table in the bar. Our server was kind of a jerk. Looked at me like I had five heads when questioned about menu items. I get it, he was busy, but c'mon. It's your job, dude! Anyway, nothing egregious enough to file a formal complaint, but we did only one drink and appetizers and went elsewhere for dinner. So bottom line, nothing really wrong with Station 4, just nothing really right either, hence middle of the road rating. We won't go back again, but you may want to give it a try. read more

Not sure why this place is only 3 stars. I came here for a Saturday brunch and thought the food and service were great. We had a deal that was $35 for two people, which included two entrees and the bottomless drink option. Side note - the bottomless drink option only applies to the classic mimosa or bloody marry. There are additional drinks on the menu that are $1 each if you decide to try them. Both of the entrees that we ordered, the nationals and the huevos rancheros, were delicious. I enjoyed the buttery flakey croissant that the Nationals entree came with and the sauce on the huevos ranchers had a nice smokey flavor to it. We ended up trying the bimosa our first round, which had some St. Germaine in it, but the drink was a little too pulpy for me. I stuck with the classic mimosa after that.
