First timer here (10/2/20) and was very pleased with the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. Masks were required and hand sanitizer was provided at the host stand. I was there for a birthday dinner for a friend. It was about 14 of us. Tables were split and not together but we were side by side. I arrived later than most guests but was able to get my food quicker than expected. It was also a weekday and not many people in he restaurant. I ordered the crab & artichoke dip for an appetizer. For the main course I ordered the Stuffed Salmon with mashed potatoes & broccoli instead of the Brussel sprouts it was supposed to come with. Food was great. Drinks were decent nothing to rave about though. Pricing was average. Will return. Be sure to Check In on Yelp, as they offer a discount of 10% off the bill. I forgot to use mine. We came here to celebrate my close Friday birthday! It was very nice and our server Maroun was AMAZING! He took such good care of us and gave us an amazing experience! I rarely write a bad review, but our experience at Station 4 was really pretty terrible and I see so many good reviews. The atmosphere was kind of dark and not cozy, but what was really bad was our waiter was unfriendly and very unknowledgeable about gluten free options. One of the 3 of us has celiac disease and he didn't know about cross contamination and told us some food was gluten free, but clearly was not. He seemed disdainful (and we were very friendly), and distant, almost lost in a fog. Eventually when he left croutons off of the Caesar Salad, it was the wrong person. He actually did apologize and again we were not demanding just trying to make sure our friend didn't get sick. But worst of all, the food was terrible. Two of us ordered lamb chops at $55 for a relatively small portion of the worst lamb chops I've ever had. They were filled with fat, thin, overly chewy and too rare (for medium rare). He didn't bring us steak knives so we tried to cut them with the knives we had to no avail...I asked for steak knives and even then, they were too chewy to cut easily. The mashed potatoes were tasty. Caesar Salad was bland and $15 for just lettuce, a few croutons, and dressing (and I love Caesar salads and have them often). If we weren't heading to theatre, I would have actually asked the waiter to take back the lamb chops as they were really terrible. As we all said, one of the most expensive meals we've had together that was awful (we are all foodies and have always loved the restaurants we picked). And while this place was awful, the food was not inedible, the location is close to the metro, the restaurant was clean, and the food was inexpensive. But that is where the positive comments end. I went to Station 4 before going to a show at Arena Stage. It was me and a close friend, who were starving! We found a seat near the bar so we could enjoy happy hour food and prices. We both ordered water and my friend ordered a beer. Well, I got my water, and she got her beer, and that was it. For 15 minutes we waited to have the server take out order. Interestingly, however, she would pass our table repeatedly, almost trying NOT to make eye contact. I became really annoyed. I wanted to order a salad and add chicken, steak, or fish. My server said she could do that but it would extra. I said that was fine, but asked how much. She said, and I quote "$4, $5, $6, more?" So I said, "You don't know." And she said, "No." I went with the burger instead, not wanting to pay $6, $7, or $8 for chicken. The food was not bad, but not really good. The HH burger cost $7 so I really can complain. But what I will complain about is my water and my side salad. My water tasted terrible-- like it had a splash of Hawaiian Punch. I asked for another water, but it was never brought to table (and neither was the water for my friend). And then my house salad was just plain bad. Who can mess up a salad? Station 4 can mess up a salad. Now comes time to pay. Two happy hour burgers + a happy hour beer = $88?!?!! Yes, that is the bill brought to the table. Are you kidding? Um, excuse me miss server? She didn't seem to understand her mistake, and then was annoyed we asked for a new check. All in all, I will not be coming back. There is no reason to. And I encourage all going to Arena Stage to avoid Station 4 as well. read more

I mean was the chef chopping, cut his finger, put on a Band-aid, start mixing eggs, and "oh no...where did that Band-Aid with my blood on it go? Oh well, moving on to the next plate" I couldn't believe others around us could eat their food. I mean really!!! Who do you think made your pancakes?!! That's right...the guy dripping blood into the batter whom you don't know and who could have HIV. So eat up, ladies. Then get tested. I think one chick in this large group of ladies even had the nerve to say "well stop talking about it" as she's scarfing down her infected meal. Well lady, I think it's safe to say who will be the first victim of food-induced HIV...yes, I'm looking at you curly head girl. My new favorite brunch place. Came here for brunch with my friend. Larbi our server was absolutely amazing and attentive. He kept our mimosas coming. Made our experience even more astonishing. Station 4 looks like the quintessential ideal brunch spot: nice décor inside with a variety of table sizes, chic atmosphere that's not pretentious, and outside seating for those who want to enjoy these nice summer days. Our group enjoyed just about all the food we ordered. A few omelettes about which no one had any complaints, chocolate chip pancakes that the 6-year-old in our party kept on eating, and the French toast which was a favorite. All of our food also came out really quickly. The only issue I really had with the outside seating was that for the areas accommodating bigger parties, there wasn't enough room between the middle table and our seats. We kept having to do a bit of a sideways shimmy any time someone needed to get up. Also, it wasn't clear from the menu that the eggs in the huevos rancheros were sunny side up. While I know many folks love a good yolk that shatters on impact, I'm not a fan. All of the times I've had huevos rancheros, the yolk has been cooked all the way through. Not one to send my dish back especially with the kitchen closing soon, I ate around the yolks and enjoyed my meal nonetheless. Life, lemons, lemonade, and all that. Overall, the experience at Station 4 was a good one. It's a reasonably clean establishment and the service was great. I'll likely return the next time I'm in town. read more

Awesome brunch experience at Station 4! Grabbed a table outside under a shady umbrella on their ultra cool patio on the most gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Ordered the $30 brunch deal of bottomless Bloody Marys + 1 brunch entree. Surprisingly, the Bloodys were really good! Good spice, 2 olives, lots of black pepper, and fairly strong. Hey, the more you order, the stronger they'll seem! Really enjoyed the House Cured Salmon Benedict. Just the right amount of cream cheese on the bagel, good portion of salmon, and even comes with a small salad. My only small complaint is that I wish they offered a variety of bagels. Solid brunch dish overall. Our server was great - friendly, attentive, and allowed me and my girlfriends to hang around our table for awhile sipping our Bloodys. Bagel with a bit of cream cheese, deliciously fresh smoked salmon, and perfectly poached eggs. It was served with soft and flavorful greens. Yum. Others at my table ordered the breakfast pizza, the Mardi Gras omelet, and the French toast. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. Review for happy hour only. Good to see another restaurant/bar in this area. This place has a good decor without being too loud at HH. They also have outdoor seating. The bar area is smallish but we were able to get a table at the couch area. They have good HH beer specials and the $5 house bourbon isn't too bad. The pork kabobs are just okay, basically just small pieces of pork which are VERY heavily seasoned (lay off the thyme a little, guys). On the other hand the pepperoni pizza is very good and I would recommend it for a HH snack. Service was a little slow but very friendly, even when we had questions about the menu. Best restaurant in the SW neighborhood. Kyle, Maryna, Karim, Drew, Tim and Eddie are the best! Chef Orlando keeps the menu fresh, original, and consistently delicious. For bar food, the duck fat fries, pepperoni pizza (ask for well done), and burger are fantastic. Great selection of wine and spirits, good tap beer list, and creative cocktails. My first experience was for a large group for brunch. They wait stuff was attentive and the food was good. My second outing was not that great. I ordered the duck fat fries. There was nothing 'duck fat' about them. They were not good and barely warm. Awful. My entrée was the margarita pizza. The pizza had barely any sauce and was extremely dry. There was not taste/ flavor. So disappointed. My bloody Mary was very good. Overall I won't try this place again; the food is not what it used to be. Hostess was nice and very accommodating. I really enjoyed BRUNCH at Station 4! A much better Brunch choice than some of the other Sunday "Buffet-Style" options. I like that you can chose an entree of your choice with unlimited mimosas for a decent price $30! Be very careful with those mimosas! They sneak up on you after your second or third glass! :) Also... the mimosas are bottomless for 2 hours only, so make sure that you get your $$'s worth! I live a couple blocks away and never really see a lot of people flooding the restaurant so I did not know if it was bad or just an undiscovered gem. It was the second. My friend had the biscuits and gravy and had to pause after the first bite to explain to me that the flavor that just hit her taste buds was amazing. I had the smoked salmon benedict; lox and cram cheese with poached eggs. This was phenomenal! Bagel was not too hard, just enough cream cheese and even the side salad accompanying it was devoured with a smile on my face. We also got a side of duck fat fries because.....well the name says it all. We did not do the unlimited mimosas because we ordered one and it took us an hour to drink, as it was in a wine glass. Station 4 wants to be in your theater plans. They offer a four course meal for $35 which includes FREE valet parking. You can have dinner there, swing over to the Arena Stage for a play/musical and come back get some dessert and pick up your vehicle. You can also get 10% off your entire order if you present your ticket stub. The atmosphere is classy. They technically serve American food, but don't come looking for burgers and fries. Steak, salmon, orza and the like are what you will find. Moderately good wine selection. I had the best chef salad I've ever had with finely chopped lettuce, bleu cheese crumbles, bacon, avocado, egg and a nice hot and tender breast of chicken on the bottom. Perfectly satisfying portion although not considered one of the menu's "Principal" selections. Make reservations. Popping up in the SW neighborhood, Station 4 has a great happy hour! The main issue, however, is that the specials are only offered at the small/crowded bar area in the front. It's just too bad that one has to pay full price to enjoy the food/drink in the fabulous outdoor area. The food offered during happy hour was substantial and well priced: $7-9 for a huge pizza or $6 for chicken wings. The drinks on HH are also reasonable too, with specials running $4-7. It gets crowded in the bar for these specials, though! The atmosphere is beautiful and very trendy. The staff are ok - we waited quite a while for the waiter came to the table each time. That said, the quality of the dinner food is good and the prices reflect that. Great spot for a romantic date night! read more

Sadly, it's right across the street from where I live and in this desert of food options, I'm often stuck here. The ambiance is great and that's what one of the stars is for. But the service is usually slow to nonexistent, even when it is not crowded. My hubs like the calamari as an appetizer but the remaining food itself is just meh. Every.time. I get the veggie or white cheese pizza and have even asked for it to be not covered in grease... to no avail. The taste is good, but have had better. The one time I got the side of spinach, it came drenched in a pool of olive oil. Same for other sides. The one time we've had brunch there my hub said the coffee sucked but he like his egg dish. Came here for dinner one night after a client meeting. Atmosphere is really nice and so is the service. The bathrooms are kind of a weird setup, but also it's sorta neat (have to see for yourself). We got right in just fine and got a nice booth without reservations on a Wednesday evening. The food was a bit pricey for the portions, even in D.C. Some of the appetizers were pretty good, especially the shrimp and spinach flatbread. Nothing bad to say, nothing out of the ordinary to say. Station 4 has to be one of the most elegantly-designed restaurants I have been to. The ambiance is quite romantic and great for a date. The lighting is dimmed and they have the most beautiful chandeliers and a faux fireplace on the wall. I ordered the pork shank, which was super tender. The marinade was tangy since the shank was cooked with raisins and either pear or apple. While I can eat fresh fruit all day, I'm not a big fan of cooked fruit especially with meats, but I cannot deny that it was a very delicious and creative dish. My friend ordered the fish and chips, which is what I should have ordered. I am a BIG fan of fried foods and the crispy texture of the fried batter combined with the oh-so tender and flaky fish was undeniably amazing! This is what I will order the next time that I am there. We ordered cream puffs for dessert, which were absolutely delicious! It wasn't too sweet, the texture of the cream was on point and it was drizzled with chocolate. I inhaled those cream puffs! Our waiter was quite accommodating, considering that I went there for a bachelorette dinner party. We probably tortured the heck out of him by asking that he take a million pictures, but he was a good sport about it. I would recommend this place for a nice dinner outing. read more

They earned 2.5 stars for brunch-- 1 for decor, 1 for location, .5 for the food itself, and -1 stars for service. Horrible service! We had a reservation and we sat so quickly that I was positive other reviewers complaining about wait times were just unlucky. A waiter came and brought our water and then our drinks, but then we didn't see him for about 25 minutes. I honestly blame management more that the waiter because he had a huge section all to himself and appeared to be drowning in it. Finally we flagged him down and placed our orders: one lackluster pepperoni pizza and one Station 4 pizza. The Station 4 pizza was OK, I appreciated the effort but I've had better craft pizza at a number of places, for much less money. After finishing half of our respective pizzas, we decided that we wanted to split the duck fat fries, have another drink leave. Again, we had to basically shout across the restaurant to get our guy's attention 30 minutes after he dropped off the pizzas since he never checked on us. He came back and took our new orders, WHICH TOOK ANOTHER 30 MINUTES TO ARRIVE. We waited so long that I cancelled my drink order. The fries weren't worth the wait. read more

Honestly, my food was good but a lot of things turned me off in the experience of this restaurant. Firstly, once I arrived my waitress interrupted the conversation at the table to announce the soup of the day without saying excuse me & without introducing herself. Not to mention she "forgot" to take our drink orders so she took our food orders first and then when we called her back about drinks she said "Oh I didn't know you wanted drinks". My next issue is that I asked for a lemonade & received a drink that was more like lemon water. I took a few sips & decided to order a sprite instead. For my meal, I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. When the food came it looked good except for the large amount of mayonnaise gushing down the side. The bacon wasn't cooked well so it was a bit oily & flimsy. The bun was also extremely oily which was a bit off-putting but it was soft so I still enjoyed it. The flavor of the burger was delicious & I truly enjoyed it after I scraped off the excess mayo & took off the flimsy bits of bacon. The fries were also very delicious I wish I had more of those with my meal. Off the strength of the food still being good, I would visit again. Maybe I just came at a bad time. read more

Oh so we arrived right before the earthquake today and the hostess was away from the front . We eventually got seats and the bartender and mgr were sharing duties...I'ma break it down Appearance; if I was to rate station4 solely on looks then it would pass with flying colors ..it was very posh and modern. Svc; the staff needs to be evened out b/c it tool forever for anyone to ask us if we needed anything. finally when the mgr and or bartender came he left to run to do something else. Also I asked for my steak well done but it was medium rare...I was very disappointed w/ that. Food; they have a nice lunch special 3 for $18 but the items were not that appealing so I had the steak which wasn't cooked like I requested. my friend had the crab cake and he indicated that it wasn't good @ all Then on our way out the earthquake happened...lol..I wouldn't recommend eating here b/c the food is lacking i would suggest this spot as a nice happy hour as the drinks are strong read more
