I first got in line around 10am. Shortly after, a line behind me starting forming and I grew quickly by 10:15 am. The people running the restaurant was friendly and generous enough that they gave me a free coke and smoked peanuts since I was the first one in line. As soon as the door opened, I came in and got the platter with brisket, and molasses burnt-ends. For the sides, I got the smoked mac, baked beans, and the jalapeño cornbread pudding. The inside had a retro and industrial feeling which makes sense since it's inside an old fire station. The brisket was so tender to the point that I can barely pick it up with a fork without the meat falling apart. Also, the brisket was comparable and just as good as the brisket that I had back in Texas but without the 5+ hr drive. Why go to Texas when you have this? The only downside was that it was expensive, but the food quality makes it worthwhile. Despite the heat, waiting in line for about an hour was worth it since the line was out the door by the time I was done eating. Overall, it's one of my new favorite places for BBQ and one of my favorite restaurants in Wichita and it blows even BBQ places in KC out of the water. Oh, but it might be the best place for BBQ in my home state of Kansas I've ever eaten even beating Joe's in KC. Even that, it competes with many BBQ joints in Texas. If you want the full experience, make sure to be in line by 10:15 am (by 10am or earlier depending on the day if you want to be the first in line if you want a chance to get some surprises).

Two meat combo- pulled pork, smoked turkey with a side of the special bbq yakisoba, a Texas twinkie, and a jalapeño roll.

First time at Station 8 today and I have no idea why I haven't been here before! Well worth the wait. Minimal seating spaces inside but their set up works- you work your way down a line to order your meal. Staff were friendly and food was incredible!

This place is top notch. I've been to the big spots in Austin, KC, STL, Memphis, and the Carolina's. This place is amazing. Staff was awesome. Inside was clean. And food was crazy good.

Service 5/5 All staff was super nice! Environment 4/5 Very loud and had a long line but lots of cool things to look at why you wait Food 3/5 But food was expensive for a bbq place I had the brisket and had great texture but little to no flavor (You shouldn't have to put barbecue sauce on your meat to get some flavor) sides were good I had the Mac and also the beans. For this supposedly being the best barbecue in Wichita, I was severely disappointed

First visit, but from what I understand, this place is always packed. You begin waiting in a long line outside, and then you meander through the restaurant to order. They have lots of BBQ offerings and sides. I had the brisket and burnt ends. Brisket was good, but not as moist as I prefer; burnt ends were simply ok. The mac & cheese was very good as were the baked beans. My experience this visit concludes that this is a decent place for BBQ, but certainly not my favorite in town. Prices are high and with a long wait time to order, I just would not be a regular.

OMG- life changing BBQ! I came after a meeting with a local friend. He knew we had to be there before they ran out. The line of 16 people ahead of us moved fast. Everyone was polite. The talk in line was how some idiot tried to steal the smoker and social media and the whole city united to get it returned. Loved once the line moved inside. So many cool things to look at. I got the 2-meat combo with Mac and cheese and baked beans. And tasted the corn pudding. All the sides were amazing. The beans stood out because their sweetness was the perfect balance to the meat. And there wasn't a ton of meat in the beans (a frequent fail in my opinion). Although the other two sides were good, I'd probably get double beans next time. And there will be a next time!! Now let's talk meat.... The brisket melted in my mouth and my mouth is watering just writing about it! Wow wow wow! I would get it again every time. The ribs were my second meat and also a total win. I had most of them for lunch the next day. They put some burnt ends on my tray and I ate those too! I got the cheese bread and it was really good but I'd save the room next time for the meat. I also got some white chocolate pumpkin bread which was great with coffee later. This one is a winner! But the locals already know that :)

Best brisket I have ever had. Best burnt ends I've ever had. Very good mac & cheese. This former Wichita resident and current KC resident is damned impressed!! Wow!! My ICT friends were right. Station 8 is the best. God bless y'all.

Wow wow wow, talk about delicious. This place is a go to spot while visiting Wichita. When you first get there the line is pretty long for lunch. You can't go in and reserve a table but as soon as you get close to the front you can get a spot with your party. Either way people basically eat and go, so there's a spot when you're done ordering. We ordered the Yeti with a side of burnt ends. For 5 adults, 2 kids and a toddler this was plenty of food for us. It was about $130 with a tip. That's absolutely a great price being that we had so many leftovers. Everything was great. The chicken was tender enough for my toddler to eat. The burnt ends were perfect wrapped in a sourdough slice of bread. The ribs just fell off the bone. The brisket was tender. I'm not a big fan of baloney but it was already. The sausage was really good. Had a kick of spice to it. Overall def come visit. The service is great. They gave the kids hot wheels to play with while we waited on the food. The staff were so friendly and kind. Absolutely enjoyed our meal here.

Wow! What a place! I had this on my list for Wichita in my yelp collection already. I decided today was the day to go. At the car rental counter, I was recommended as one of the best places to eat in town. It was fate since I was kind of already decided to go there. Well, I pull up, there's cars everywhere in line out the door down the street! For me, this is a sign of wonderful experience. I chatted with a nice couple in front of me who had driven an hour to come here. They recommended the ribs. This is an old fire house, decorated lots of antique stuff. The weight ended up being well worth it! I got ribs and Burnt ends. And for sides got the jalapeño corn, pudding, and mac & cheese. I grabbed a strawberry white chocolate cookie from a local bakery. They were selling and a cheap wine zero sugar. The ribs were some of if not the very best I've ever had in my life! Burns were good too. The mac & cheese was very cheesy and creamy and the corn pudding very good. They had a large selection of bread, but I elected to not get any. The staff there was super nice and very helpful. Everyone seemed very happy to be there. This is one of the better barbecue places I've been to in the country! Yes, you'll wait in line, but it is well worth it.

Biscuits & gravy. Yumm!

We finally made it out for the first time Saturday. Yes, the line was long but it moves really fast. You're not waiting for food to be made, just put on plates. We had the biscuits & gravy. Oh my, so good! My husband had brisket added to his, I didn't & both were amazing. He also had a side of beans that he said were phenomenal! People also eat & move out quickly so finding a seat wasn't an issue. The staff were all really nice but Kris stole the show! She was so sweet & literally was running around, taking care of every single person. We left gushing about how good our meals were & how sweet she was!

Yes, found this on Yelp as we were driving through Wichita. During week at lunch so it was lined up. It was alittle different feel going down line but it moved fast. You tell one person your meat then another your sides and drink at end. Drinks in a cooler you get yourself. I perfer ice , so we just got a bottle of water. Food was good. I had a ham sandwich with really good Jalapeno cornbread Pudding. Service is good with a person walking around giving out to go containers as needed. They are cleaning tables as soon as someone leaves. Not a Huge sitting area but the feel is good. Cute place with the fireman vibe. Definitely will stop again if in area while they are open during lunch.

We showed up at about 15 til closing, the line was to the door. We almost walked away. SO GLAD we stuck it out. The smells were phenomenal. The line moved quickly. We got some of the wagyu brisket, pork belly burnt ends, green beans and Mac and cheese and ribs. We took it home to eat, it was soooo good. The brisket melted in your mouth, the ribs had a delicious and peppery bark on them. I have zero complaints. This is the first time I have ever tried it, the lines have scared me away in the past but never again will I let the lines scare me off after seeing how efficiently they work. Mmmmm!!!

We had a combination of brisket and burnt and I threw in a rib for good measure.

Very good. Was hoping for a cold beer with my bbq but they didn't serve alcohol. Other than that the food was great and large portions.

Do they sell meat by the pound? Like could I get 2 lb of brisket and 2 lb of pulled pork for instance?…

Another year, another restaurant pops up to occupy the doomed little building near 47th and Seneca…read more Everything about Sweet Willy's is heavy-handed, from the menu's cartoon cowboy claiming this to be the best barbecue he's had, to the amount of hickory used in the meat that ensures you're going to smell like the woods before you make it back to the car. Going so over the top doesn't help my old barbecue standbys: the pork was on the way to becoming jerky, the brisket was dry and the fat unrendered, and even the sausage had a casing that was too thick for my liking. The ribs, on the other hand, stood up to the smoke well, producing a caramelized crust that gave way to tender meat that came off the bone cleanly. I'm not normally a ribs guy, but it was one of the saving graces of the meal. What Sweet Willy's lacks in panache it makes up for in gusto. The menu is peppered with all sorts of non-traditional applications of barbecue, from poutine to chicken lollipops to tacos, though the most surprisingly enjoyable thing may be the burnt ends, which are tossed in a honey and garlic sauce that is not only more subtle than the KC-style sauces served with everything else, but surprisingly works well with the sugars in the meat in a way that doesn't overwhelm. There's clearly a lot of effort put into Sweet Willy's, but not a lot of confidence, no matter how many "yums" are on the menu. There's some good to be found in places you wouldn't expect, but the brisket and pork are serve as the foundation upon which the rest of the menu is built, so improving them should be the first priority.

Amazing BBQ hole in the wall place! We tried the family pack with 3 meats, 3 sides, rolls and…read moresauce. The garlic slaw isn't too sweet, the sweet potato salad is a surprisingly delicious change from traditional, and the baked beans are the perfect mix of sweet smoky and a kick. Pork, brisket, and turkey are all moist and top notch! The mild sauce is very sweet and the hot sauce has a nice vinegar flavored kick. You need to try this place out for some good Kansas BBQ.
