Every day since it's been "I'm so sorry I'm so busy, I can come in tomorrow" despite him telling us the previous day he can for sure come in while providing times that I confirmed would work for me. Fast forward to 8 days of this straight of him telling us "tomorrow" and no follow-through. I ultimately let him know we will not be utilizing his service. I had a great experience with Kuleana AC Services and the owner, David. My pool heat pump stopped…read moreproducing hot water and after some technical discussions with the manufacturer, it seemed like the issue might be a refrigerant leak. I reached out to David and he called back quickly and scheduled a visit for the next day. He arrived right on time and was very knowledgeable about how heat pump systems work. Even though his main focus is AC systems and not pool heaters, he approached the problem methodically. We checked for leaks but could not find any, so we tested the refrigerant pressure and confirmed the system was already properly charged. While restarting the heater, David noticed the compressor was clicking but not starting, which led him to suspect an electrical issue. After opening the electrical panel, we found a lizard had shorted across one of the capacitors. He tested both capacitors with a volt meter and confirmed they had failed. He immediately called a local AC supplier and ordered the replacement parts so I can get everything back up and running the next day. David is a really nice and friendly guy, and clearly knows his craft. I really appreciated the time he took to properly troubleshoot the issue instead of guessing.
