DO NOT COME HERE. I HAD TO HAVE MY PIERCING SURGICALLY REMOVED. it was EXPENSIVE and VERY PAINFUL!! For backstory, I got my cartilage pierced and it was constantly irritated from day 1. I had a similar issue with a nose stud I got done but thought it got infected because an apprentice did it. I have 7 piercings and I have never had problems UNLESS they're done at stay true. The bar was so short on my cartilage that it became embedded into my ear and my skin grew OVER the back of the piercing. It was very sensitive and you couldn't even see the backing anymore because the skin closed over it. I went to Urgent Care but even with lidocaine it was so painful that i passed out 3x. They said I need to go to the ER to get it removed but it HAS to come out ASAP! I went to the ER and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I almost passed out there as well but they had to inject Lidocaine directly into where the backing was supposed to be, give opioids, and it was STILL painful. On top of all of that, I had to pay for the piercing, the urgent care visit, and the ER visit when I could've just gotten it done somewhere else. Moral of the story: DO NOT GET ANY PIERCING FROM STAY TRUE TATTOO!!! read more

Went a couple months ago to get my VCH pierced. Kyndal was professional and clean. Unfortunately, a vessel was hit that required stitches. That is the risk I took getting such a sensitive piercing however, I didn't like how I was told multiple times to just wait for the bleeding to stop when I explicitly stated the severity of it. All three doctors I saw were shocked that I had waited as long as I did. I will give this place two stars because I did get a tattoo the same day by Teresa and she was wonderful. The tattoo has healed amazing and the fine lines still look incredible. Overall I would come back for another tattoo but probably skip on a piercing. read more

My friend and I came for a belly piercing 8 months ago, we walked in and expected to receive a professional and informed piercer, but when we tried asking about the different types of jewelry she was no help. They made us pay and tip before we got the service done(RED FLAG) We waited forever to be called back into some dirty and unsanitary room behind a curtain. We were both a little nervous and she barely spoke and was not the friendliest piercer, she did not use a clamp and did not center the piercing well. After the service she did not give us enough information on the aftercare and just left us with some aftercare paper that was not very helpful. Not even an hour later my friends piercing started bleeding, and when we tried to call, she sent us to voicemail and never called back. 8 months later we are still having issues with our piercings, which includes irritation, scars, infections, and dullness in the jewelry. I recently booked an appointment for a memorial tattoo for my little brother who passed. I was given a date that later got rescheduled due to a family emergency with my artist. No big deal, things happen. But when I came in for my rescheduled time, they asked me to come back in an hour and a half. So, I come back at 6:30pm and didnt even sit in the chair until after 9pm and I didn't leave the shop until around 11:30pm. Scheduling needs some serious improvement thats for sure, but my artist did an amazing job and I am so happy with how my tattoo came out. I would consider going back as long as I don't have to jump through so many hoops just to be seen again. So, my friend and I went to get piercings last night. Brenna did her septum piercing as well as my nostril piercing. And WOW! She was so good! Super quick with minimal pain!!! Sure, there was a bit of a bite of pressure when she put the needle through, but honestly that was it and before I knew it she already had the jewelry in and was done. My friend had the same experience with her septum. The nostril piercing is my 11th piercing and honestly it was the easiest one to get done so far. I thank Brenna for that! I will definitely see if I can ask for her in particular the next time I go get a piercing She also walked us through the after care process and helped us feel very informed on how to take care of the piercing. She was a rockstar Also, the piercings were fairly priced in my opinion. It was $95 for both of us to get our piercings (one septum and one nostril). And I bought the saline cleaning solution for myself and it was only $7. So really not bad. Especially for the quality of care. I also haven't been to the shop since Mike did one of my tattoos back in 2018 (which I STILL get complements on and people ask if it's new). They have expanded the inside since and it looks fantastic! It's very clean and sharp looking inside. Very professional feeling. Not to mention even the ladies at the front desk are super friendly and helpful. Love this shop and I'm definitely planning on returning. read more

Visited the shop get piercings with my friend. Upon entering I was happy to see that their were a good 2-3 other people in the lobby area, but because the room isn't very big it was hard to move around. Also I was upset that they were low on their jewelry options since that lead me to not getting my nose pierced. Additionally, the women up front did not seem knowledgeable about her job and was not very welcoming or made you feel comfortable. This is very unsettling because she was the first interaction we had and if the piercer, Vega, didn't come out to talk to us we probably would have walked out. However, Vega is awesome! She answered all our questions and really thought about the future of our piercings. My friend is from Houston and Vega gave her her card and told her if she needed anything or had any questions to contact her. She was fun, professional, and caring. I'm glad I followed through and got Vega to do my piercing. Also you do pay first, which I was a little worried about after the initial interaction as well as when my friend was concerned she wasn't going to be able to do what she wanted but she already paid. I stopped in to get a daith piercing. Before I paid or anything Vega came to look at my ears. She told me because of my anatomy, the daith piercing would stick out to far and be more likely to be rejected. Since I had my mind set on a piercing I asked her what else I could do. She told me I had a great rook. So I decided to get that piercing instead. I got there at about 2:40 and was the first customer. She when and got everything ready and then came and took me upstairs, I could bring one person with me. She told me everything to expect and exactly what she was doing. She showed me everything was sterile as well. She was very fast and made the whole experience great. I'm not from Lubbock, I live several hours away, but she told me to message her and she would help me with finding jewelry when I'm ready to change my ring from my piercer. I cannot say enough good things about Vanessa so I'll try and summarize into one quick review... I went on a Monday around 6PM. There was no wait and parking was readily available. (Side note: iPhone maps is kinda crazy in terms of finding the shop so keep your eyes peeled for the designs on the windows!) It was $40 for a rook piercing. Vanessa sat me down as we made natural small talk pre-needle penetration. As to be expected, I was nervous but she really has a knack for making you feel comfortable or even like a friend throughout the experience. She gave good tips and sent me on my merry way. My friend and I both immediately agreed as soon as we were in my car that she, along with everyone we met, were some of the nicest shop employees we'd ever met. THERE IS MORE So come to find out this piercing has been quite the troublemaker. My ear experienced crazy swelling, intense discoloration, and literally felt as if it was pounding. I've had 7 piercings before and had never had this happen before - especially with how religious I am about cleaning new piercings. I knew it wasn't Vanessa or myself so I immediately found her on Facebook and messaged her my concerns. Once again - literally the NICEST piercer you will ever meet. I'm telling y'all: go to her!!!! She messaged me back immediately giving advice. Whenever it reached the point that my ear was not getting better, she offered for me to come in so she could clean it plus change it to a bigger piece of jewelry for my specific issue. She is so informative about these things. Furthermore, she did this all for free simply because she "felt bad for me". *cries* My piercing is now healing properly with the help of Vanessa. Went in to get my nose stud repierced-originally had it pierced for Mother's Day, took it out last night and forgot to put it back in, so the inside was closed (or so I thought). Ericka told me the hole was likely still there, just too small, so she stuck a giant needle in (it was uncomfortable, but didn't hurt) and kept it in for a few minutes, then put my stud in. She also answered all of my questions, gave me an "after-care" sheet, and made sure I knew everything I needed to know before I left (which the original piercer didn't bother with). Went back 2 years later to get another one and had an awful experience. The lady who did my second one was on Facebook Live paying no attention to my friend and I and somehow tattooing us while working her second job on Facebook. The outcome was absolutely terrible. I had a very painful experience with an inexperienced piercer (Allie) this was the 3rd time I've gotten my nose done. The piercing got stuck in the taper because it was improperly prepped. Allie continuously pulled on it despite me expressing discomfort and there was an extreme amount of blood. After sitting there for 10 minutes and with her pulling on it, she went and got another piercer. The other piercer gave me attitude when I asked why it was bleeding and swelling (like I said I've gotten it done twice before from other shops and nothing like this has ever happened). When I finally had enough and my nose was so swollen and they could not get the jewelry anymore I went to the front to get my refund. They tried to keep the tip despite me leaving with a hole in my nose, and no piercing. I can't speak for the other staff, but Allie was unprofessional and highly inexperienced. The staff was friendly and down-to-earth, which is nice compared to some shops where the artists have massive chips on their shoulders. The price was reasonable for the size of my cover-up, the timeframe was good, and so far I'm very pleased with the quality (it's still fresh). A tattoo is a leap of faith. You're trusting someone to put permanent art on your body. in my humble opinion, Stay True Tattoo is well worth a look. They told me to send an email of the picture, and I waited in the lobby to make sure it went through. It did. I was told I would be contacted when it was ready. A week later, I sent a follow up email and never heard back. I even checked my junk folders. I didn't pursue any further as it didn't seem they were eager for my business. This is my sister's experience here, which I was also present for. I was also disappointed in her piercer who didn't even offer me a place to sit during the piercing: Before getting four ear piercings at this place, I had five piercings on my body that I did at three different piercing places. My experience at this place was by far the worst ever in terms of price and quality. The employees were completely unprofessional and my piercer was inexperienced and incompetent. The employees were sitting around and chatting while customers were waiting, and my piercer didn't even have anything set up when she knew I was coming in at a specific time to do specific piercings. They made me pay and tip before I had the service. This made things difficult because I had also wanted to buy two septum rings, but they were so expensive that I told them I only wanted the simpler one I had asked them to put in. They charged me for the more expensive one and then when I noticed that my piercer had brought that one to put in I told her I had wanted the other one and they wouldn't refund me but gave me store credit instead. They also did not have fixed prices and seemed to be charging based on bias; I wanted to buy a bottle of cleaning mist to clean my piercings and the lady asked another lady how much she wanted to charge me for it and it was much more expensive than I'd paid for a bottle of the same size before. The piercing experience was horrible. I explained what I wanted to my piercer and showed her photos. I wanted two hoops on one ear that were higher up on my lobe and asymmetrical to the triple piercing I wanted on the other ear. She drew the dots several times and I told her that I wanted them higher up and closer together. She said okay and drew/erased them a few more times on. I finally believed that she had moved them up and said okay because I thought she understood my request. She pierced them exactly as a normal triple piercing instead of how I had wanted them and then refused to take one out and re-pierce it. I had to take it out myself when I got home. She also was unable to close either of the hoops she put in but messed with them for about 10 minutes while pulling them and pulling my hair. It was very painful and she kept telling me not to move as if it was my fault she couldn't do a simple piercing. Because she wasn't able to close the hoops, they kept getting caught in my hair and twisting to come out of the holes. I basically had to re-pierce one of the hoops that came out because it wasn't closed when I got home. I had to try to close it more myself, but I still can't get it to close all the way without the tools she has. She also messed with putting the backs on the earrings on the other side which was painful. I think even Claire's in the mall could do a better job with ear piercings than she did. The piercings and jewelry were over-priced for a low quality place but I had trusted them and wanted the simple piercings, so I didn't have a problem with it before she did the piercings. I also generously tipped her before the piercings, which I regret. I paid $195 for four ear piercings, a septum ring, and a bottle of cleaner. I would not recommend this place for piercings to anyone. The overall experience was awful. read more
