Unbelievably disappointed with this hotel. And I barely ever write hotel reviews, but this one needs to be said. I spoke to the front desk about it, and she said that the hotel needs a remodel. That doesn't help me at all, so she would have to talk to the manager about how disappointed I am. I thought that I booked the nicest room, which is the two bedroom suite with a king bed, two queens in another room and a sofa bed. Upon arrival, I was happy with how nice it looked, that they had dishes and pots and dish soap. But the carpet is gross, the couches were really dirty, and even the lamp has stains. I didn't want my family to take off their shoes and we even used our own blankets. My son needed another blanket at night and when he went down and got one at around 11pm, the blanket has a huge hole in it. On top of everything else, the blanket wasn't even right. The next thing was the fire alarms going off every little bit around 6am. Apparently someone left the stove on and there was smoke on the third floor. I could forgive this if it was the only thing, but on top of everything-- this was a very upsetting time. The ONLY reason they got any stars at all is because I didn't see any bugs. *Definitely has roaches, they tripped our outlet and then came crawling out when we hit reset. This honestly could have been a nice facility, but, due to the fact that it's so ill kept, I'm knocking stars off my review. Booked our stay because we are military traveling for a PCS and it's a pet friendly hotel (with deposit per pet). However, everything is dirty. Just walking around the hotel, there is stuff all over the carpets (lint, pieces of paper, crumbs, I don't even know), smears on the linoleum (probably from pets or small spills, but you would think a day later they would be cleaned up), and don't get me started on the pool. We took our kids for a swim and someone's yogurt parfait was sitting on the chair and it was oldddd. The hot tub isn't working and the water is stagnant and nasty. Dead bugs in it and looked super cloudy. One guy actually said he asked someone about it and they apparently said they would come "turn it on," but never showed up. Probably for the best. The bathrooms next to the pool are trashed. Toilet paper everywhere. Someone took a huge poop in the women's room and it either didn't go down, or they didn't bother to flush. The outside gazebo looks beautiful though. They have a very nice set up where you can grill and hang out. Maybe the lady at the front desk was having a rough day, but I went to ask for pool towels because, surprise, they weren't stocked, but her demeanor honestly made me feel like a burden for even asking. I didn't even bother mentioning the hot tub like I was going to. The fitness center is... lacking. The treadmill won't even turn on and I had to mess with the elliptical settings to find one that didn't say error. Not sure about the bike, I didn't try it after I got the elliptical to work. They have exactly 11 dumbbells, no water in the jug or wipes in the dispenser, and it's apparent that someone didn't clean up after themselves because there were paper towels and a wadded up regular towel just sitting around. They do offer guest laundry, but it's not free and you can't use your own detergent, it's preloaded. Each load costs $2.50 per washer and dryer. Our room is a decent size. We have a kitchen with a ton of empty cabinets, a handful of dishes, and almost a full sized fridge. I'm happy about those things! But the pull out couch was pretty awful and my poor husband ended up sleeping there with our daughter. There was food in the couch when we opened it up. Our sink had men's leftover beard trimmings and our shower had someone else's hair still. Our room has splatters all over the wall from God knows what abd the carpet is stained. I feel bad letting my toddler walk on it. Don't get me wrong, I've stayed in some sketchy places before, but for $300 for one night? No thank you, it's just not worth the price. read more

This place is disgusting! By far the filthiest hotel I've ever been to! Sleep ANYWHERE but here! When brought to the attention of hotel staff we were told to wait for the maid to clean another room. Then we were told there wasn't another room. Then we told the maid was working on yet another room. We were left waiting for 3 hours before we were finally given another room. Overpriced for the area and absolutely filthy. The remote control for the tv was so covered in pet hair and dust that you would have had to clean it to read the buttons. The room smelled like wet dog, and you could see the pet hair go flying when you sat down on any furniture. there was garbage everywhere along the hallway that wasn't picked up from the day before so the entire floor smelled like rotten pickles. The breakfast area didn't look sanitary at all, for example the juice machine had old food in the drip tray from who knows whenS The coffee was cold and I am pretty sure they just left it there from the day before. Well- equipped room 317 with full size fridge/freezer and even an automatic dishwasher. Dishes and utensils for 4. Coffee maker and tea bags. Cockroaches! Two roach-infested rooms, filthy conditions, food stuck all over broken mattress from a pull out sofa bed, and management specifically Tammy and Julie, lies, threatens, and calls a refund a "courtesy" -- and then offers a free stay at the same hotel -- avoid at all costs. IHG apparently has a policy about this. Google this property and the cockroach and you see all of the reviews that mention the same problem. Tammy will deny it but we all know the truth. Go to best western medical center and report to the local health inspectors so children families will be safe while being dependent on this property for temporary housing. Shame on you IHG and Tammy for supporting these conditions. I want to also mention initially I was only offered $43 back but I argued it and got the full refund. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! They hold your pending amount even after you've checked out and already paid the full amount. Don't bother calling them either. They lied and told me it's up to my bank to release the pending hold which according to my bank and IHG corporate is a lie. IHG corporate won't help you either claiming they don't have the authority. I've stayed at this same location years ago and it's obviously under new management that has let it decline. The tv and hair dryer in my didn't work but I let that slide because the ladies who work at reception are nice. I checked out Wednesday and I'm still waiting on Saturday for them to release the pending hold. Choose ANY hotel except an IHG property for your next stay. read more

I absolutely loved this hotel and sad I only stood one night. The staff were extremely nice, they had bellhops for us to use and plenty of parking. I was pleasantly surprised to see that our room had a small kitchen and a sofa. The AC worked wonderfully and everything was extremely clean. I loved the shower, the water pressure was amazing and felt great after driving for so long. I had an amazing experience here, full size fridge and they provided kitchen utensils which worked perfect because I needed a bottle opener and there was one in the room. It felt very safe. My one gripe is the bed was uncomfortable, it was very hard but everything else kind of outweighed that. read more

Front desk bad experience. We're members, reserved 2 months in advance. She could not find our reservation. We offered our confirmation #, showed it on my phone. So I made reservations for this location in February. Before I made the reservations for spring break 4 days I checked to see if the indoor pool was open/working yes was the answer. I called the week before the arrival t make sure - yes they said. At check in I ask again and the front desk says it was closed today for maintenance but will be open at 5. Awful experience. Was charged over $1100 fir 4 nights stay! Tub clogged, shower head trickled water out=no water softeners on property, water had a smell to it. Bathroom light bulb missing, as well as lamps. Stains on walls, doors, and windows were very dirty.Had to fight and make a police report to get $100 cash deposit for incidentals. We are Diamond Elite IHG members which tells you we stay a lot at IHG properties. We will never stay here again! It started with no keys ... We stopped here with our family on our way home from a Colorado vacation. The key card system was not working so they had to come open your door for you every time you need back in. The kids really wanted to swim so we went to the indoor pool area it was so hot in there because the ac was not working you couldn't breath. So we went to the back yard outdoor area ... OMG trash everywhere, tall weeds, cigarette butts everywhere! The tables had not been cleaned in forever the BBQ grills were disgusting! Then let's go in to the room ... let's start with roach in the bathroom, burnt outlets, lamps don't work, and to top it off a pill on the base of the lamp on the nightstand how clean do you think it was? The ac in the room also was not working well. We also called IHG to complain about the condition of this property and spent an hour on the phone just trying to get someone on the phone .... DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I was accused of this even though upon check in no one answered their phones downstairs. But call to wake me up in the middle of the night to ask, and verify what I got at the pantry hours later. Their phones were having a busy signal all night. Couldn't call ahead to verify anything. Like hot breakfast as advertised. Even pricing. They DO NOT have the buffet as advertised. I have a strict diet and couldn't eat what they offered in their "grab bag" I couldn't cancel the room the night at check in or I would have lost my money since it was a non refundable policy. Even though with certain issues. They are not conforming to governments policy from Mr Abbot or their own Mayor of Amarillo for following covid-19 protocol. Employees were not wearing masks. Guests weren't wearing masks. Even though they have a huge sign walking in stating that masks must be worn. They have signage all over the hotel. But my wife and I wore them the whole time. So I followed up the next day with all these issues, and was told the manger would call me the next day when he came on duty at 9:00am. I waited and by 10:00am I called to speak with Dylan the hotel manager. We then were informed that we were charged for missing towels and the sheets with stains. Also nothing was said or an apology. We were accused of all this. The manager had a laugh at us as well while on speaker phone saying it was fecal matter in the bed from us! I even had pictures because the front desk wasn't answering. We asked for the owners number or to escalate this matter, and we were told we couldn't. I would have given negative stars if possible. Avoid this hotel. read more

I was really impressed with this hotel. We rented a 2 bed, 2 bath. One room had two queen beds and the other room had a king bed with a private bathroom, plus the sofa pulled out into a bed. There were three flatscreen tv's and the internet was fast. It was basically like a small apartment. I recommend calling the actual hotel to book this room. I first called through one of those hotel sites and they didn't know what I was talking about when I asked for this room so I called the actual hotel. The room was clean and had plenty of space for all of us. They had two good sized closets. The kitchen had everything we needed (dishwasher, cooktop, fridge, cups, plates, bowls, etc.) and it had a small island with two barstools. All the windows had the blackout curtains. The pool area was clean and kept up. All the staff were friendly and helpful. But the best part was the breakfast every morning. It had just about everything you could want for breakfast. Just make sure you go kind of early or you might encounter a family of 8 making 2 waffles for each person and you might miss getting any waffles. I really enjoyed this hotel. I'm currently planning another trip to Amarillo just to stay here again and get a break from everyday life. read more

First impression was honestly not great. The person that did the check in was the least friendly individual that I've ever encountered at a hotel. She was by herself, seemed stressed out and was extraordinarily curt when I asked a few simple questions. After that, things got better. The complimentary breakfast buffet was very nice. There's ample seating in and around the lobby area. But...turn off Faux "News" for goodness sake. I realize it's Texas, but put something neutral on the TV like the Food Channel. Not all of us watch that real fake news crap. The room was nice and spacious - as most suite-based hotel chains are. This had a separate bedroom from the small living room/kitchen/work area. It was clean, too. Air conditioning was loud and annoying when it switched on and off, but that's a common problem at most properties. Things I guess sure are changing. It's been awhile since I stayed in a hotel, but what lots here that is now no longer, here is what I observed: No literature at all! Nothing about the area and nothing about the hotel, usually we get info on the internet (to be fair they gave this to us at the desk) but no nothing about how to make a call or anything. I just thought that was weird. The place was very minimal. We had a small kitchen area, but we didn't cook or anything. I thought about it, but not enough time really. Was happy they accommodated pets. That is what we really needed for a few days, was just some downtown for the three of us. We headed out Monday and are looking to be back home. Was just very interesting to say the least since the last time I was in a hotel. Staff was friendly.. and the room was clean and did the job. I would stay again if need be. Overall this place was nice. It was clean and offered lots of space. The bed was firm. Although I prefer a soft mattress, this one was comfortable enough (not great, but OK). If you like them firm, you will probably like this bed. The wifi and TV channels were good. The kitchen in the suite was fully stocked with cooking supplies. The free breakfast was typical hotel food, but everyone seemed to like it OK. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are lots of places to stay in Amarillo, but I would consider this hotel again in the future. read more

We were traveling all day and decided to stay at the Staybridge since we still had about 5 hours left till our destination. We were greeted by friendly staff at checkin. We were very pleasantly surprised by our room. It was Spacious clean and just what we needed after a long day in the truck. The bed was comfy and they even have a full fridge and freezer well a kitchenette for anyone wanting to cook while on the road. We also enjoyed the popcorn they left as a snack in the room definitely thoughtful. We absolutely will stay at a Staybridge again. Oh and the breakfast was a very nice arrangement. This was my first time staying at this hotel. I walked in and was instantlly greate by the front desk clerk. I later had a noise complaint and I called the front desk and spoke with a young lady named brittany. She assured me she would get it resolved and within 5 minutes she called me back saying the issue should be dying down soon. I had just driven 13 hours that day. She went above and beyond offering to move me rooms if the noise persisted. She is the reason I will be returning to stay here. This place has the laziest housekeepers I have ever experienced and very poor management. I have had to argue just to get clean towels and sheets changed. I have to remind them to clean the shower..sink and toilet and it still doesn't get cleaned and management is rude about it when asked again. They have us sign a sheet for full cleaning and not once since I've been here for 60 days due to a water leak have they done a full cleaning. It's embarrassing how lazy they are. It takes 20min max to pick up trash...change sheets..set new towels..and clean toilet/sink/shower..we keep it pretty clean. Surely paying over $100 a night would cover this cleaning once a week. Very disappointed in the run down condition of the room, it really needs renovated badly. The price we paid was supposed to be $129 plus $35 pet fee plus taxes and we were up to nearly $200 all in. I complained loudly to the manager who made every attempt to move us or refund our money and when we refused because we were too tired, she discounted the room without us asking by $20. We had just stayed in another Staybridge Suite in another city and it was really great, but this one is a dog, at least as far as the overall condition of our room is concerned. read more

Let me start by saying if you're a business traveler and need wifi, you might as well move on. Although you can connect at a decent speed, actual usability and download speeds are abysmal. Hope you have your own hotspot if you stay here. Upon arrival I was booked into a handicap accessible room which I felt uncomfortable in as soon as I walked through the door. And it didn't smell very appealing either. The front desk attendant did book me into another room right away and with no attitude. Joann was very helpful. The laundry is free for guests as well as is breakfast. Breakfast is the usual hotel fare, eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. but they also have a decent selection of fruit. Rooms are very large and mine had a separate bedroom with king bed and another big screen tv. All in all it was a nice place to stay. read more

Stayed here last night while driving from Albuquerque to Wichita Falls, TX. Nice, new hotel with all suite rooms. Pet friendly too, which is a must for us ($25 non-refundable pet fee). It was me, my husband, our 2 boys and our dog. We had a regular room with a king size bed and pull out couch. The room was very large and spacious. It had a full kitchen, a dishwasher, and a full refrigerator. There was also a pet walk. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast was very nice too. Waffles, fruit, cereal, bagels, eggs, sausage, yogurt, coffee assortment, juices, etc. This is a great value for the money. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because both times I went to the front desk, no one was there and there was no bell to ring (this morning while trying to check out). Also, our bathroom ceiling needed some patching up. Other than those minor details, we had a wonderful stay and we will definitely stay there again! read more
