Great place to go for special events! I decided to make reservations for my mom's birthday and the staff was very nice and accommodating for us as we celebrated a special occasion. It was very nice and dim inside the restaurant and we lovedddddd the live jazz music, we could have listened to him play all night. Then the food was so good! I didn't think the bread was all that special, but having a candle of butter melt around it was neat. I ordered the short rib pot roast and it was so delicious, but adding the creme corn brûlée to it (at the recommendation of our waiter) took it to the next level.

My husband and I are still talking about this Caesar salad a month later. Sat at the bar and enjoyed speedy service. The vegetarian entree (quinoa based, so plenty of protein) was hearty, and I had leftovers that reheated well. My husband opted for the filet & mushrooms and loved both. The complimentary bread w beef tallow candle was a fun touch (though I didn't try any of it). Do not skip the salad!

My friend had their birthday party at Steak & Bourbon, two things we both love to eat. The place is very dark but I feel like a lot of steak houses here are. This day they had a live saxophonist I don't know it that's a typical thing. It didn't ruin the conversation we were still able to talk and not have to yell over the music. Also the saxophonist was playing some great tunes! The service was great, myself and my friend's guest arrived before the birthday girl and the rest of the birthday guests but the host seated us and the server was nice enough to still take our drink and appetizer orders and checked on us serval times. I am severely lactose intolerant and I let the server know that when I placed my order as most of the steaks were finished in an herbed butter so I request led mine without it. I ordered the steak and frites without the butter and without the gravy that they had with it. My steak was cooked to a beautiful medium rare and I upon first bite I don't think it would have needed the butter! The steak was buttery feeling in my mouth, tasteful and juicy. I also had chimichurri sauce and steak fries but they weren't overly impressive. Everyone else enjoyed the free biscuits with butter I was advised that they were good. They also spoilt the birthday girl's cake, which was delicious according to those that were able to partake. My only complaint would be that the pricing is expensive for the food and drinks but I also know that the price points for similar restaurants are about the same. Overall it was a great experience for a once a year type thing!

I've been to this location a few times and never disappointed. Perfect vibe and ambiance for date night! The service is always excellent. The food never misses. That scampi is something else and the steaks are always super tasty and moist. Will always go back anytime I can! They tend to always be busy but doesn't affect the flow. Parking is limited so drop your ladies off at the door fellas if you have to park further around the pavilion. Make sure to get a photo op somewhere in the many photogenic spaces depending on where you're seated!

The ambience is very nice, low lighting with rich reds. It has an open kitchen concept. Casual dining. Before I begin, I just went to Jeff Ruby's and that's a high bar to beat or in Steak and Bourbon's case to meet. Beginning with the spinach artichoke dip was mediocre. The bread is served with an "edible" candle made of tallow and garlic. Fun to look at, but the bread absorbs the grease it's sitting in and just drips grease. The steaks are also mediocre. I LOVE a good steak. These were just ok. The mashed potatoes are just ok. The Brussels sprouts are ok. The au poivre sauce is a brown sauce lacking any flavor. The chocolate cake is the star. Unfortunately, they ran out of vanilla ice cream and put coffee ice cream on it. The coffee ice cream is overpowering and competes -not compliments - with the rich flavor of the cake. How can a restaurant run out of the most basic of ice cream flavors? I'm certain there is a grocery store nearby. Improvise. This restaurant needs to step up. Maybe, the burgers are better?

Bread! So good. The candle butter is devine.

If you're in Louisville, don't skip Steak & Bourbon. As busy as it is, it's busy for a reason, this place is top tier. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better steak anywhere. The service was outstanding, and my wife and I had an amazing time. Seriously, make a reservation now. Don't wait. You'll thank me later. SO DAMN GOOD.

Amazing food. A little expensive but totally worth it. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, I have never had a bad server. The music is bit loud when they have a live music but normally it is a cozy spot.

My birthday cake (Vanilla cake with vanilla icing)...Super moist and very good!

This spot I would absolutely rate as 100/10 if I could! From the ambiance (nice shelves with books on Meat and Bourbon), the excellent staff (From the hostess, to our waiter, I couldn't have asked for a better experience); Finally the amazing drinks and extremely delectable food choices were the cherry on top. The music was a perfect mix of jazz, and classic pop that sets the tone. This was my birthday dinner, and I don't think I could have went to another spot and had the great experience I just had!

This spot is such high quality steak and service. We went for my husbands bday and it was our favorite steak in Louisville. They use some sort of garlic butter and it was so savory!

I'm in steak heaven! Wow oh wow. I ordered the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. With scalloped potatoes. Oh and on top of a decadent white cake with a cream cheese frosting for my friend's bday. This is living! And the beef tallow rolls and butter candle- chefs kiss!

Oh my gosh!! I was so thoroughly impressed. The environment is so amazing. It's dark with lights on the table. It makes it even more intimate. The service is great and very fast. The food is absolutely incredible. I ordered the pot roast and it was the best I've ever had. I cannot wait to go back here.

This was the best meal I've had in a while! I tried three bourbons that I've never had and the Weller Special Reserve was my favorite. The bread they brought out was neat, it had a little "candle" in the middle that was actually made of butter and the "wick" was made of soy. We ordered way too much food so we could take home leftovers. I had the filet Oscar style and it was wonderful, my wife also had a filet which she really enjoyed. We split the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Brussels Sprouts which were both good, not great. Our Waiter was awesome and did a great job which only made the experience more enjoyable.

I have only been here a couple of times but may I say each dinning experience was excellent. It starts with fresh bread served with a beef tallow candle as it melted you soak up the flavor. If you are truly hungry do what my grandson did order the cowboy ribeye 28 oz of pure delicious beef. My daughter found the beef short rib pot roast amazing and I gave in to the one pound ribeye. May I say a side dish is served with steak I payed the upcharge for sailor pie which is like a shepherd pie but with lobster as the main ingredient you won't be disappointed.Looking forward to coming back soon.

We stoped in on a random Saturday night and was surprised to be able to grab two seats at the bar however there is always so much going on in Louisville in the summer. The bartender was rather busy but he was very friendly and personable throughout our entire experience. We ordered a couple drinks and the Feta and Hot Honey starter. It came with a generous portion of Feta, drizzled with Hot Honey, fresh sliced Jalapeño, prosciutto, and I believe macadamia nuts (not 100% sure) .... SO GOOD!!! My husband ordered the Cheese Tortellini which is fresh pasta, filled with a blend of Wisconsin cheese and herbs, tossed in a mushroom and spinach cream sauce that is finished with pine nuts and basil pesto. I am extremely picky when it comes to seafood so I do not say that lightly. I also ordered a side of mashed potatoes which I really didn't need and honestly didn't eat much of bc my Salmon was so good. We were too stuffed for dessert but have heard they are pretty famous for their Bourbon's Bread Pudding which is custard soaked bread, bourbon caramel, dried dark cherries soaked in bourbon syrup so I will definitely be trying that next time!

We were very glad to see Kevin Elkins, the GM of Connors there that day. He is a great supporter of Swan Pointe. We sat at the 2 round tables and 6 booths. Our server was Dzenan and he came around to our table and introduced himself and how he would be setting out water at each person's place setting and then he'd go around getting the drink orders and appetizers and bring out our freshly made rolls and butter. We looked over the menu and many decisions were made. Not only did we have our 2 servers checking on us, there were several chefs that came out to see if we were doing ok. The food started appearing around the room and my goodness it smelled delicious. No wait and we were seated immediately in a booth. Service was great the entire visit. Our server Renne was knowledgeable, efficient, and kept things moving. Unfortunelky when we sat, our server let us know they were out of calamari, which was a letdown since it is one of their #1 appetizers. Here's the breakdown: Prickly Pear Margarita $15 This was sweet and smooth without being overly strong. The flavor leaned slightly toward raspberry. Easy to drink and well balanced. I liked it Complimentary bread We were served two warm rolls with a herb style pesto butter. The bread was fresh and soft inside with a light crust. Simple but very good, especially for something complimentary and unlimited. Fried mushrooms $13 Good portion size. The breading was light and crisp but not heavy, so you still got the mushroom flavor through it. The texture was tender, almost soft like cauliflower when cooked right. What really made this dish was the sauce, a spicy chipotle style aioli with a creamy base. That sauce was honestly better than the mushrooms themselves. Lobster bisque Included with the entree. Very creamy, smooth texture, rich color. The flavor was solid but slightly muted. There were very few visible lobster chunks, which was the main downside. It tasted more like a creamy seafood soup than something loaded with lobster. Still, as a free included side it was fine. A bit more salt and actual lobster pieces would improve it a lot. 14 oz Ribeye $43 This was the main event and it was great. Ordered medium rare and it came out exactly medium rare. The steak had a solid charcoal grilled crust on the outside without being overly burnt or bitter.Added some really great flavor. Some places overdo the char and it takes over the meat. Inside was juicy, tender, and a perfect mix of fat and meat. Really solid overall. They also split the steak and plated it for two without charging extra, which included dividing the sides as well. I also like how there was a small portion of chive butter included on the plate. It was simple but added a nice touch to the the steak. Most other toppings or flavored butters were $4 extra so it was nice nice to try one for free. Loaded baked potato side Large size and fully loaded with cheese, bacon, sour cream, and butter. It was soft inside with a proper fluffy texture, not dry or undercooked. Pretty standard steakhouse loaded potato. Strawberry shortcake Complimentary dessert with a candle for the special occasion, which was a nice touch. This was easily the highlight of the entire meal. Perfect balance between cake and strawberry filling. The strawberries tasted fresh and had real sweetness rather than being overly syrupy. Honestly one of the best strawberry shortcakes I've ever had and I grew up eating the ice cream pops. Highly recommended. Overall: Service was great, solid food, fair prices, and the dessert was excellent. The biggest downside was the calamari being unavailable, especially since it is their #1 app. I'll be back to actually try the calamari next time.
