This place is great every time we go. The only problem is 1 out of 20 of the locals yocals who don't know how to behave themselves and follow the most basic dress code. Steak and main is a bit more upper class, but they still have a bar that you can go to if you don't want to be seated in their "steakhouse dining room." This place can get pretty busy and I recommend calling a day ahead for a table. I generally get the dry aged ribeye but they have plenty of seafood options and pretty darn good burgers. read more

The food and the service is always excellent. The issue I have is that my step father had lung cancer and was going through chemo treatments and was wearing a hat. We were there with a big party of friends and family for dinner and they refused to seat us unless he removed his hat. We explained the situation of what he was going through but it didn't matter. Not many other places we could go to on a Saturday night with a large party. So he reluctantly removed his hat. It still makes me angry. read more

Steak was flavorful and cooked just right. It's a lively place with a big Friday night crowd. We enjoyed sitting on the more casual side even though it was a bit loud. The more formal side was equally full if you want something a little more sedate. The only drawback was charging $10 to share an $85 2 pound steak, which was clearly more than one person should eat. Really?? We spent over $300 and you want to bust us for an extra $10 for a plate. If not for this, I would have rated the place 5 stars. read more

Totally pretentious restaurant that has the atmosphere of ordinary bar. Overpriced food and would not accommodate simple request to add grilled chicken to ceasar salad when we preferred that to the grilled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing on the menu or to substitute a baked potato for French fries. Screwed up our orders (didn't deliver one of the appetizers and forgot one entree) and after we were nice about it they objected son in law's backward baseball cap as we were leaving. They're trying to be an upscale restaurant without offering good service. Good luck! Maybe they should visit a real upscale restaurant to see how it's done. Try worrying more about cleaning the restroom than enforcing their ridiculous dress code. Go to Woody's where the food is good and there is no pretending to be something they're not. read more

Rude. We had reservations and my boyfriend was wearing black headband. Not even in the ten minutes that we were waiting for the table did they mention they don't want him to wear it. It's literally just a plain headband. They mentioned it right as we were about to order a bunch of their higher priced dishes. But because it was so rude we walked our and walked down the street to a less discriminatory restaurant. If the owner sees this you should be ashamed of yourself and I hope your business shuts down on account of how rude because you let people sit in there at the bar with hats and women wearing headbands and we can't have a table? If I'm going to pamper myself or show off North East Md to my visiting friends this is the place. (I'm not an adventurous diner) Hubby said seafood fra diavolo was bland and not spicy at all, but he raved about the oysters appetizer; fresh and flavorful. (He's obsessed with oysters) I had a tomato burrata caprese salad which was a pale tasteless slice of tomato with fresh cheese and balsamic reduction. Thought since you can still get ripe tomatoes at farm markets it would be better. It was such a disappointment! Friends said they enjoyed their dinner but I can't remember what they had. These oenophiles enjoyed the wine and said wine list was intriguing. I enjoyed the carrot cake for dessert. Service was exceptional; it was the best I've ever experienced, even compared to swanky over-priced places. It wasn't busy in the dining room, but bar and patio were mobbed. I was at Steak & Main last week. We were a party of eight. A few of us walked in ahead of time, they were going to seat us when the rest of our group walked in the door. We were all on motorcycles, we were all dressed appropriate for their rules. They just decided they didn't like what they saw. I was very very offended. We all have great jobs, we are all financially well off, we just enjoy riding our Harley Davison's. Let me start out by saying, I'm a chef and restaurant owner for 20 plus years. I have been coming here 2-4 times a month from Baltimore spending between $300-$500 each night. The food is amazing, have never had a bad meal there. They know what they are doing and is always fresh. Tonight was different. They were not busy as usual but good for us as the wait staff was more attentive than they usually are (which is always on point). The problem I had tonight was I got the lobster tail stuffed with crab imperial. When it came out the crab cake( (its not actually crab imperial) just didn't taste right, so I Did not eat it and told our waitress. She took it to the chef and that was the end of it. When the check came they had not removed the $20 charge for the crab and I asked the waitress about it and her response was the chef said it was fine. This is first time in all the years I have been coming to this place that I had to send something back. It is a shame that after all the money I have spent there( regardless of how much you spend if you are not happy with something you shouldn't be paying for it) they didn't bother to try to make it right. Tonight you guys lost about $15 thousand dollars a year from my wallet over a $20 crab cake. I hope it was worth it as I will find somewhere else to take my people to dinner from now on. I have been to Steak & Main multiple times for cast parties. When I called to schedule a funeral lunch, I was told they only do parties for "good friends of the owners" and they wouldn't accommodate more than 8 people. It's a shame that (a) they'll turn down 50 people on a Thursday afternoon when they'd likely be empty anyway and (b) they're willing to alienate their community. read more

We used to love it here but had two bad experiences this past week. We have an 8 month old so decided to do takeout since taking a baby that young isn't practical there. We called and went to order the specials and we're told that Tony didn't feel like doing specials to go that day then we went to order sushi and was told the same thing. We decided to try it again two days later and dine in instead this time without our baby. The service was absolutely horrible! It took us an hour to get just our drinks and appetizer ( an order of jalapeño poppers). The server never told us the specials, did not ask if we needed refills and just went missing for long periods of time. The food was ok, far from what you'd expect for what you're paying for it. Overall, not impressed with our experiences last week and it will be a long time until we even think about giving it another shot! read more

Our party of 3 had dinner there. It's the best sushi I've ever had. The filet tips were very tender and delicious. Mashed potatoes were creamy. The crème brûlée was delicious but there were no vanilla beans in the bottom. If they used vanilla extract it tasted authentically pure and did not change the texture. The portions are fair size (sometimes enough for 2 meals depending on your appetite). On this latest occasion, leftovers didn't stand a chance. So delicious. Everyone raved about this but unfortunately it was a huge miss. When my group arrived we were sat and handed one menu. We looked through it and the table next to us had a burger that looked great but we couldn't find it so when we asked the waitress she said "oh let me get the burger menu" and then we wanted a beer and the same thing "let me get the beer menu". I feel like that's a whole lot more work for their waiters. Then when our food arrived my dish was bland and so was another plate. When we tried to send it back immediately after we tasted it. We had probably had one bite but we were informed that "it could be packed up but unfortunately we wouldn't be able to take it of your bill. You'd still have to pay for it." That's ridiculous to me but not the waiters fault so we packed it up and didn't purchase anything else. Won't be coming again. read more

Main dish, ham and cheese omelette came with cheddar I asked for American. It came out with literally no melted cheese at all. Only 12 pieces of diced ham... It fit in a tablespoon. I enjoyed the Crab cakes Benedict more than words can say. Perfect porched egg on top of a still hot English muffin with a mini crab cake topped with a homemade hollandaise sauce. Did I mention they serve you TWO of these with a perfect side of lyonnaise potatoes. The plate was beautiful with a garnish of pink grapefruit, fresh strawberry and orange. All for 16.00!! Mimosas and Bloody Marys are offered for $5.00. Service was spot on. Don't miss this .. many other options including homemade waffles with chicken fritters, freshly prepared omelettes, and more!! Note: there is a dress code and no backwards hats. While seated at the entrance, we did see the hostess request guests to turn their hats around... and no sleeveless shirts for men. For a high end restaurant, extremely disappointed. Only waited 15 minutes to be seated which was great for a Saturday night but waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. We also had to ask for the bread that every other table received upon being seated. The steaks were not cooked properly, flavorless, and overall not impressive. The mignonette (tastes like a pickled onion?) was an extra $1 and not included during happy hour, but a buck was fine by me. Great experience at this place. Who would think you could find great sushi in a tiny town (at a place known for steak) near the Delaware line? Everything we tried was great, from the crab dip (loved!), an artisan pizza special, calamari to the various sushi. I've been here before for the steak and it was pretty good, but eating this sushi outside on a covered porch with my besties in the rain was pretty much perfection. And the bloody Marys were pretty tasty too. I went hiking at Elk Neck State Park and worked up an appetite, so I decided to get carry out on the way out. I had visited this establishment once before for a lovely Sunday brunch with a Bloody Mary bar. Today, I called and ordered 2 sandwiches...lobster salad and a Gorgonzola and beef sandwiches. The food was ready when I was told and the hostess was super friendly. The lobster salad was good but not great....just a little bland and expensive for the portion $24 and came with chips, not fries. Now, the beef sandwich was outstanding! The beef was tender and flavorful, the Gorgonzola dressing made the sandwich special...gave it a nice bite and paired up so well with the meat. This sandwich was well worth the $15 and came with really good seasoned steak fries. Love how they branded their rolls with their logo. Such a nice added touch. I probably wouldn't get the lobster roll next time, but I'll most definitely be back. read more
