Very upset to see this restaurant go so down hill over the years, to start we were seated directly next to the host stand, people were literally leaning on our table and seats while waiting to be seated. When asked for bread we were given only 2 small butt ends of a roll. I ordered a Double Filet Mignon burger, which was dryer than the Sahara desert. I've been ordering burgers here for 5 years, while this restaurant has been on a constant decline over the years, it has never been this bad before. All I can say about this place is WOW. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed some drinks before our food came out. I got a Strawberry Lemonade drink and boy was it good!! After ordering our drinks, we ordered the cream of crab and asparagus soup, Meat and Cheese Board, Pink Lady Sushi, and their Filet Oscar Special. Highly recommend their soup! REALLY REALLY wanted to love this place. It was the only restaurant on this small street that would seat a party of 5 with no wait time. My family & I traveled from Virginia to NJ and since we were in Maryland we decided to get off an exit to visit Woody's Crab House. Unfortunately Woody's had a 40 min wait so we started walking back to the car when we spotted this restaurant. We read all the read flag signs but still went inside. On the inside: the ambiance was warm but the staff we met were as cold as all the signs. The waiter had zero personality & we couldn't ask him questions about anything on the menu cause immediately he would just ask if that's what we wanted. Okay....never mind. Moving forward the food all comes together, appetizers, soup & entrees -- fine. The calamari was smothered in sauce, the fish tacos were just ok. It was tough chewing through all the raw carrot, the crab cakes were just ok.. definitely the best thing we had were the beers. A nice cold Stella & a espresso beer (can't remember the name). I do not recommend this place. It's a really weird vibe from the signs (also in the bathroom) to the people & the food. I have to mention, this place is NOT KID FRIENDLY. Was there tonight with family (6 including a child). Could not pull up a 7th chair to accommodate a booster seat because they have no high chairs! Wasn't allowed to "alter" tables. Had to put grandson on floor in seat like a dog! Sat out on deck. Not busy AT ALL!!! Said family with child left. Put booster on table next to us. Was told to remove it! Paid WELL over $450 to be treated with such disrespect and not one other table had people there! Moral...go to Chesapeake city with great fabulous friendly restaurants with a fabulous view!!! read more

My wife and I took my Mom here for her birthday. Short and sweet, it was a wonderful experience. We ordered a dozen oysters, 6 Mayfield from MA and 6 Local Chesapeake oysters. Both were wonderful, but the Mayfields were incredible. We also split the octopus side. The octopus was tender with a light char and the marinara sauce was a perfect compliment. And finally we also split a single crab cake. Honestly, one of the best I've had. The crab was sweet and buttery. And it was all held together by hopes and dreams, because there was basically no filler at all! We all had the Dry Aged bone in ribeye, ordered rare, and a baked potato. The meat was perfectly cooked. Had just the right kind of "gameyness" for dry aged beef. And was tender and absolutely delicious. Honestly the texture was closer to that of a Filet. Even the potato was delicious. Our server, BrittanyH deserves a special shout out too. She was attentive, not pushy at all. There was no feeling of being rushed out. In fact, we were there during the running of the Preakness, we were just about finished with our meal and got up to watch the race. She put a note on our table stating "Do not bus" I feel it's important to note this only because it's the level of service you simply don't see often anymore. She didn't need to do that, we didn't ask, our plates looked finished. But she did it in case we wanted another bite. It's the kind of thoughtfulness that seems so rare anywhere today, let alone in a restaurant. Overall, this was an amazing experience. I'm going to start with the food because it was all most perfect. The Roasted Duck with the Orange Fig Chutney Sauce was delicious. The skin crispy, meat tender and juicy. The Duck came with Brussels Sprouts and Risotto. Brussels Sprouts good but Risotto not so good. The Filet Tips au Poivre, excellent. The tips were cooked perfectly, medium rare as requested and the sauce was generous and decadent. The mashed potatoes fell short. Would have preferred a creamy potato. The potatoes were too lumpy and tasted a little reheated. The Crème Brûlée Cheesecake outstanding. It was solely the potatoes and risotto why I rated four stars instead of 5. I would really say 4.5 stars. I forgot I had a half dozen Oysters on the Half Shell at the bar pre-dinner that were also outstanding. Sweet, briny and tender. Our dinning service was great. Very nice waiter who provided excellent service. The Hostess and Bartender were also very nice. I liked the bar area. It was crowded for mid week. I felt lucky to get the last two seats. The over all ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. There is a dinning room side that's a little more upscale but very comfortable. There is a casual dinning area near the bar that looks inviting. So we stopped in for dinner with another couple. Our first encounter was with a less than enthusiastic bar tender. She pretty much ignored us at their relatively small bar. Once we did get a drink since there were not enough seats my boyfriend was standing behind me while we waited for our table. We asked if our location was okay since it is a tight place and we got an okay. Another server tripped behind us and spilled a drink and we got a glare like it was our fault. Totally odd first impression. When we were seated in the back room it was a completely different vibe than the main room and just run down looking. The food was good, the timing for the orders were off. One persons entree came out at a time. So we just all waited for everyone to get their food. From the moment we walked into this establishment, we already felt unwelcome because we had 3 kids in our party. It was a huge deal because we had a large party that they gave us the run around about splitting up our party to make it easier on them... we had no issue at all splitting to make our party smaller. Then, we were rudely told about our 7 month olds stroller and how "there are signs everywhere saying you cannot have this here".. sorry but I did not see this sign. They would not let me collapse the stroller and leave it up front because of others possibly waiting up front.. ok I can understand that. My husband then goes and walks it out to the car. We were seated and then rudely told that I could not have the water bottle in my son's diaper bag for his formula because they "cannot have outside food & beverages" in the restaurant. I said this is literally for a baby! I use this to make his formula. They said I'm sorry but you cannot have this in here. We just felt like from the jump it was nothing but a problem with our family walking in with kids. Note to self, if you plan on dining here, DO NOT BRING KIDS! Yesterday, we wanted to dine there; however was turned away because we had to bring my son his own meal because he has celiac disease. Although, they did offer gluten free foods; we couldn't take that chance because of cross contamination that can send him to the hospital. We left (all 6 of us) and enjoyed our time at Woody's Crab House (practically next door). They were so accommodating, friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. Food: My partner and I both got some Oysters to try which we both enjoyed very much. Then they got the crab and asparagus soup (second best option after the Oysters they got). My Oysters and pitbeef sandwhich were also very good and I have nothing to complain about any of it. It didn't take long for the Oysters to come out and then our main food was maybe five to ten minutes behind the Oysters. Plenty of food to eat. Service: Our waitress was very nice and attentive of our needs. No need to call out for help, she showed up on a regular bases to take care of our needs, but not showing up so much that she was bothering us. Very pleased with the staff. Atmosphere: It's very comfortable and feels a bit like home. Very upscale restaurant in the heart of a quaint little town, North East MD. We went on a Tuesday night about 5 PM, and got seated right away. There is on street parking, no meters. There are multiple dining areas, including plenty of outdoor seating under cupboard porches. Very elegant decor inside. Our server, Kaitlin L was wonderful. My husband got the crabcakes, which comes à la cart. I ordered him a side of the string beans, which are delicious. I got the beef tips, which come with creamy mashed potatoes and string beans. The beef is in a delicious creamy peppercorn sauce. My husband also got the cream of crab soup with asparagus, which he said was delicious. They do bring fresh hot bread with cinnamon butter, and regular butter out to the table. Portions are small, and prices are a little higher than typical for the area I would say, but the quality is definitely there. For an appetizer you're probably going to spend $12-$15, and entrées are in the 30 to 40+ dollar range but again elegant atmosphere and it's in a great little town.a great place to take a date, or a family, or a group of friends. read more

Calamari: not crispy, more like *very* lightly breaded and baked. Ok taste, but the chewy, soft texture was off-putting. The tomato-based sauce it came in was good. Sushi: We got the Dragon Roll and Amazing Roll. Both were very tasty and filling. Best part of the meal by far. Fish tacos: Underwhelming and flavorless across the board, from the fish to the fixings inside. Just blah. Wouldn't recommend. Oyster sandwich: Also flavorless, except for the bun which was tasty and had a good texture. Brussels sprouts: Over-fried, giving more of a burnt taste than anything else. The service was awful, there was barely any heat in the dining room and I was told "NO"by the owner for a child's meal for my ten year old niece. The dining room menu has no options for children. I asked if she could have a burger from the bar area and was told "No, the owner has rules. Won't allow food from the bar menu in the dining room." Christmas Eve dinner and the owner behaved like Ebenezer Scrooge. What kind of a person denies a child a dinner option. There were no child friendly options on their dining room menu or a kids menu. Really great experience! The server was so gracious and understanding of our little kids' needs, even though they don't cater to kids at all (no high chairs or kids menu here!). Our littles enjoyed the ravioli appetizer in lieu of a kids' menu. My tenderloin was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the creamed spinach and sautéed mushrooms were so good. Unfortunate we had such a terrible evening for our first time here. We made a reservation for two guests at 6pm. We were seated in the dining room where a table of three were seated, appeared they had received their food, realizing service was moving along since we had only seen one server. There were actually two, boy did we lose out! After being seated Angelina approached our table, rudely asking if we wanted a drink other than water!!! I mean really..I've been in the business for over 30 years, never was I greeted or trained servers with such jargon. I specifically asked her name to possibly establish a repor, if you will. You know I'm not going to nitpick, so bottom line she was condescending not to mention unprofessional. She never once asked if we needed anything, we had to have someone track her down. We both had one cocktail followed with a $75 bottle of red wine, celebrating my husband's 82nd Birthday. The wine was priced fairly for Stag Leap, however The wine was being stored in a refrigerator, not in a temperature controlled vessel of sorts, to maintain @ 55 degrees. It was cold!!! We never divulged this info, only looking for a great place to dine with great food and service for his birthda. The only thing decent out of the meal was the appetizer of fried oysters, so good my husband ordered two portions. He wanted to order more but was given attitude. Trust me, money was no object, elderly people cannot eat as much as they use to!! Unfortunately I do not eat. I ordered scallops wrapped with bacon (a frozen product not even made in house). Bacon was not cooked. Also ordered cheese ravioli with a Bolognese Sauce as an app, which was served ice cold!! It would have been awesome had we had bread to go with the cold frozen pasta. We got through it only being rushed!! We told the server we were not in any hurry, actually asked if she was???? After reading many reviews on line, we rolled the dice after learning the service was the pits more than it was praised. Also read that whatever you do, do not complain or it's over!! Almost like a Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi! We wanted a great steak!! I ordered a $75 steak medium rare, could have walked off the plate. I then asked to have it cooked more. BIG MISTAKE!!! The sushi was great I just wish the amazing roll wasn't cut the way it was. Great presentation but not ideal to use with chop sticks. The atmosphere was great but my date was a bit disappointed in the haircot verts and mostly the mushrooms. The mushrooms were swimming in liquid which from what I tasted was wine. I think next time if I visit hopefully the mushrooms are roasted and it's a mix variety and not just button mushrooms. I have been coming to steak and Main for 17 years and I have never been treated like I was treated last night. 10-5-24 8pm What's funny is that it was one individual that was so . Unfortunately she showed her immaturity as she teamed up with her brother at the bar which I thought was absolutely the most unprofessional atmosphere. I'm not used to that at this restaurant, maybe I should be. It seemed you had to know someone to be able to get service. I went into the restaurant around 8 o'clock on October 5 Saturday night. There was a young lady with brunette hair at the hostess stand. That couldn't have been any nicer with excellent customer service skills. She said she wasn't sure if I could sit at the table that was empty so she would check for me. This is when I met the young lady with the red hair. She told me that I was welcome to wait for a seat to open up the bar and I could get a drink and sit in the window seat. I asked her if there was a table that I could sit at and if I may sit at the table that was empty? She replied that I could, but I'd have to wait 15 minutes. So I asked if I may have a table outside? She replied yes but you'll still have to wait 15 minutes. I said OK that sounds great. May I have the table inside right here? She said yes. I went back to the seat in the window and sat down as I waited. Now a young couple came in asking for a table. They did not have a reservation, and they were immediately taken outside to a table. So I continue to sit waiting for my table Then I see her coming to wipe the table off and then the couple that had went outside that just came in were seated at that table that I was told that I could have in 15 minutes . It was really interesting that they didn't have to wait 15 minutes. So I approached the hostess stand again asking her what had happened? She never apologized. She just said oh well they didn't want to sit outside. And I said, but you told me I was waiting for that table, I was here waiting before they arrived and they were seated without waiting 15 minutes. I then asked did I do something wrong ? She never apologized. Told me I may sit outside at one of the tables if I like. So I sat down at the table outside And waited, And I waited without anyone coming to take my order. Now, please take note to the fact that the couple that came in after me, and that were given the table I had been waiting for they've already been given their drinks and they've placed their order for food. *** the young brunette girl at the hostess Stand when I first arrived, came out to my table and she apologized. She then told me that she understood and that they are busy, but that she sure someone would be with me soon. So I start walking back towards the two of them, she looks at me and walks away quickly he, of course, is sitting on his barstool. So I say oh, so you do know who I was talking about? And he proceeds to say yes that's my Sister!!! And I say OK so your sister is rude, you lie and play games with paying Customers? Really? What kind of games are you playing with customers here? Told our steak was "cooked properly- its red under the blue light in the kitchen" (made our waitress come back out and tell us that exactly) when we told the waitress we wanted it bloody red/completely rare- the steak was hardly red and cooked almost all the way through, she agreed 100%- a $60 steak. When we got our dessert- we took a bite of the cannoli and there was a LONG thick string in it... nothing was done or said. Booooo to the owner, amazing waitresses!! read more

We went in there and we had a reservation for seven of us and the reason why we went there was because they had half-price Oysters and other items. Clearly on their specials That is just above the bar it says half price Oysters. There is absolutely no indication as to what type of oysters but it clearly states half price. She proceeds to tell us that it's only the Harris oysters that are half price. Keep in mind there is absolutely no place in the restaurant that states that and she absolutely did not tell us that when we all sat down and asked what the specials were she clearly stated oysters are half priced and that's Raw or baked. We explain to her that the price is wrong then again she tries to reiterate that it's only for the Harris Oysters but she will call a manager over. After a little bit of time she comes back and says I called the owner (His name is Tony) And once again said it's only those particular types of oysters and "it is what it is deal with it". Sadly because of that answer she lost out on a lot of money on over Tipping and we will never go back there again. This is a restaurant that again does have good food but God for bid if you have a child or a younger kid that needs a highchair or anything because he doesn't want kids in his restaurant either and as a father I find that very offensive any clearly states outside no strollers and if you need a highchair good luck because he does not have them. It's sad because it's a very nice place but when you have an owner they could care less about customers unless of course you're a regular and spending a fortune all the time. Maybe people just need to stop going there and hit him where accounts and that's in the wallet. You had a group of seven people that we're gonna start going there every Sunday and today we spent around $250 take that times 52 weeks.
