For lunch my family and I were hungry after moving storage all day so we decided to go to steak n shake. "I love steak n shake" Today was different. Today I ordered the White Truffle Burger as I always do. (For people who don't know what that is it is a mushroom swiss burger which is a plain burger with mushrooms and swiss cheese with mayonnaise. We waited a little less than 27 minutes which is good for steak n shake. Immediately I noticed our waitress was a little nervous. Maybe she was new or she was afraid about the food being wrong had just woken up. (I don't blame her at all.) Anyways we get our food and immediately I go in for the fries with cheese. The fries were warm but not burning my soul which I like food to burn my soul. The cheese was cold. My White Truffle Burger had onions and barley any mushrooms and my burger was cold. (I think there were like 4 mushrooms.) My food was wrong but because I didn't want to hurt this poor ladies feelings I pick off the onions. I ate maybe 3/4 of the burger and like half of the fries. I did ask for fresh cheese sauce tho. So I ate the fries with HOT cheese sauce. Overall what I take out of this is steak n shake needs more staff cause they were understaffed big time and what little staff there was needs to write what the food is down. I ordered to go and it took almost 30 minutes. That was the average time for the other diners. Additionally, almost every order I saw was returned for being wrong. I ordered 2 burgers and a medium fries, and they missed one burger. When they "fixed" the order I had both burgers, a cold medium fries, and a fresh small fries. I felt bad for the girl working the counter and delivering orders. Even with all of the angry customers she was apologetic, friendly, respectful, and really hustling. Oh, I'm so glad this location still provides actual service! The restaurant still has the diner feel with a twist of modern industrial added. There are no kiosks at this location so you'll have a waiter/waitress (which I LOVE). Restaurant was very clean and the service was fast. The food was very fresh and so tasty. The last couple times we went since the new management, the burger flavors we wanted were not available and on the most recent visit, half the burger menu was not available (literally crossed out with black tape). We gave it another try few days ago, however, brought more disappointment. They did not give me a receipt so had to inquire to redeem my points. Don't do it. I've tried countless times because it's on the conveniently located on the edge of town, but I'm an idiot because it never improves. Sometimes they are open and others there may be a single car in the lot with no one at the window. Are they open or??? If you do manage to find them on an open day, be prepared to wait and then wait some more. The service will be a joke, and you will want to punch yourself in the face. However, you will have probably already waited so long that you feel invested enough to stick it out hoping the food will be hot. On 11/24/2019 at approx. 12:00 PM My wife and I visited the Steaknshake in Carrollton, Ga. I had loaded $20.00 on their app in order to pay for our meal. I went to pay the check with the app. The bill came to $12.48 plus a $3.00 tip for a total of $15.48. The Assistant Manager could not get the register to take the money from the app so I had to pay the $15.48 from my debit card. All total my lunch ended up costing me $35.48. I have called the Steaknshake main number at 1-877-785-6745 twice to get my 20.00 I loaded to the app refunded since I couldn't use the app to pay for my meal. I have met with nagative results both times. They gave me a reference number regarding the incident (#1520624). This is really just a glorified McDonald's. The waitress was incredibly rude, never smiled once. We ordered two shakes and two cokes. The shakes took 15 minutes and then literally weren't even mixed. Seriously, it was just vanilla icecream with toppings on top. When the food came out five minutes later, I was given the wrong order. She dropped off our food and check and then never check on us again. No ketchup at the table, had to stop someone else to ask for silverware, and we never got one refill. Very slow seating as most tables and booths were still loaded with dirty dishes. Waitress cleared a booth for us and wiped the table with a dirty, soaked towel that left the table very wet. If it weren't for my wife I would never go here. She likes the food so I try and accommodate. First I will say this: I'm surprised if they get my order right the first time. I've learned to not leave the drive thru without checking my bag first. Too many times have I gotten home and realized I didn't have what I paid for. Tonight when I visited, the kid working the window was very rude to me because I checked the bag after he handed it to me. He told me if I wanted to check it then I should pull into a parking space and not hold up the line. There wasn't anyone behind me. I told him that I didn't receive the BBQ sauce I requested. Absolutely horrible!!!! I haven't had Steak 'n Shake in years. While out Christmas shopping, my bf and I thought we'd stop by for a late lunch/early dinner. Our server only showed up to take our order and bring our food. It took almost an hour to get our food and they weren't busy. I requested cherry coke. I was charged for it but only got regular coke. Whatever, no big deal. But when they brought our food to us, I seriously thought they gave us someone else's order! I ordered a Butter Steakburger, bf ordered a Triple Garlic Steakburger. My burger was DRY!! Bun was mashed, toasted extremely well. Fries were COLD! His Bun on his burger was extremely greasy. His fries were also cold. When she brought our food I told her that was wrong (assuming it was someone else's). She brought it back saying "no, that's the butter Steakburger." We also ordered 2 Cookie Dough Milkshakes. There was only 2 pieces of cookie dough in mine, same as my bf. It was watery and runny by the time they brought it to us. Not thick at all. I know what you order never looks like the pic on the menu but come on! This looked ABSOLUTELY nothing like the pic. I'm just super disappointed and in shock by how much Steak 'n Shake has gone down hill. I will NEVER go back to another one. I came out to order a milkshake and I ordered an Oreo milkshake. Once I got a little over a fourth done, I had tasted some peanut butter. I was upset because even though I don't mind PB, it allowed me to be upset about 2 things. 1. I could have been deadly allergic to PB which would have ended very badly. And 2. This restaurant doesn't care about cross contaminating customers food. Either they don't properly clean their milkshake machines, or just don't care about cross contamination. When I went back to the restaurant, the manager acted like it wasn't important and showed little remorse. Highly doubt the mgr will even speak to the employees about it. Worst Steak & Shake I have ever been to! After the fourth consecutive time of getting our order wrong not only in the drive thru but sitting down I am fed up. The service is slow and while taking our order the last time not a single thing was right. The fries were also half filled and the food was cold (see pictures). Absolutely unacceptable. When we called to tell them, the manager politely offered to give us a refund or remake the order but we do not live nearby and we were not going to drive back up there. Here's the story of how Steak'n'Shake lost a customer. The last time we went here was 2 years ago, and we've never been back. Our son and I took my husband to this Steak'n'Shake for Father's Day 2014 (we have rather plebeian tastes). We're all aware that the much-vaunted "steakburger" takes for freakin' ever to cook, so a 30 min wait to have our meal isn't a big deal. What WAS a big deal was how our orders weren't right when we got them, they were stone cold (the cheese on our son's burger was congealed already), had the wrong toppings, and were sloppily made. My son and his father had ordered shakes, and we're still waiting for them -- they never came. When I asked "Where are our shakes?" all we got was a shrug and an "I'll go check" from the waiter, who promptly disappeared and hasn't been seen since. Maybe other Steak'n'Shakes are still good. I don't know, there aren't any out here. But this is one to avoid at all costs. read more

The food was good but the service was horrible. I dined at this location during the late night shift; it was the first time doing so and it will definitely be the last. We arrived and had to wait more than five minutes to be seated. Employees looked at us several times, acknowledging that we were there, but not once did they approach us until we waved for someone's attention. We eventually sat ourselves. Our server was prompt and she took our orders without any issues, but throughout our dinner, our server never returned to ask how our meal was or to offer refills. She passed by our table several times, ignoring us while training another staff member. We sat at a table that was close to the counter. Several of the other employees were gathered behind it, talking to each other. We even overheard one of them say "That's not my table, so I don't have to worry about it" while motioning to our table where we already had empty plates and glasses. This Steak and Shake is in a great location, but its service does not even come close to its surrounding eateries. I doubt I'll ever return. read more
