Management in this place seems to be non-existent We have been coming here for a number of years and must say the service can be quite un-even. Most of the managers we have encountered are defensive, rude and could not care less what your problem was. Read several reviews below and see what I mean. Don't even try to use the coupons corporate sends out. The employees don't know how to properly compute them...and could not care less if they were ever taught properly. Last time in I had to call the 800 # on one of the female managers. She was rude, nasty, and reported her to her regional and operational peeps. She is not suited for retail food management. We were in tonite and did not see her....hope she got transferred out-of-state somewhere. Our food and service was good. Absolutely terrible! We stood at the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign for a good 10 minutes without a single acknowledgement. If someone had said, "We'll be with you in a minute," or even "Hello," we might have stayed, but absolutely nothing. There were 2 servers out in the restaurant, one of whom disappeared after a few minutes, and the other one just ignored us - and the restaurant was nearly empty. Several employees were behind the bar at the cashier and cooking area, yet no one even said hi to us. Glad we left and went to the Steak n Shake in Brookwood, they are MUCH better. read more

I understand it was very busy when I arrived to pick up my phone app order but they are HORRIBLY unorganized. I stood at the carry out counter (which was filthy, by the way) for 10 minutes before they even acknowledged me. Then they asked me what I had ordered because they had no idea. Handed me my order 20 minutes after the promised time but did give me an extra order of fries as compensation bc of how long it took. read more

This is the worst service ive ever had i waited 20 minutes in drive thru(which i couldnt leave bc parking spots block it) because the cashier was on a long smoke break (i watched her lean on a random car smoking then walk back in to give me my poorly put together soggy food)and was extremely slow getting my order even ready i was in a time crunch and am never going back to this location again i do NOT recommend this location at all!!! read more

Yum!!! I went through the drive thru and as always there was 8 cars ahead of me, but the wait wasn't that bad. Nine minutes. The girl at the drive thru was very pleasant and cheerful and appreciative. The burgers and fries were hot and delicious. The sweet tea is as good as Chick-fil-a's!!!!! If it was a choice to give this store a 0 star, I would. I recieved HORRIBLE service tonight at this location in Cumming. I am an elementary school teacher, and for teacher appreciation week, I got a gift card from a student to Steak N Shake. I looked online at my available balance and it said 25.00. I even called the 1888 number just to make double sure it had that money on my card. After eating there tonight, we went to pay and used the gift card. The STORE MANAGER said it was an invalid card. He was rude and accused me of stealing it. I told him there was money on there if he wanted to see the balance online or hear the phone call. He refused both methods. He ran it through the card machine and said it was a bad card. He was very rude and unprofessional. He suggested that I go and ask the parent who gave me the card where they got the gift card, and tell them it didn't work. Why would anybody ever do that?? We will never be eating at this location again. I have contacted customer service, but even if we recieve another gift card, I will never be going here again. read more

The past two times we tried the drive thru, we have had horrible service. Very slow. I actually left today trying 10 minutes to place an order that I repeated 3 times. Whoever was on the other end was not attentive and couldn't even take my order that only had 2 burgers on it, so we left and took our business to the McDonalds up the street. Slow service, if you can handle it. The food is actually decent if you can get it. They really need to work on customer service and maybe a sense of urgency. The slowest drive-through ever in the world of fast food! Not to mention that even after ordering the same exact item, made the same exact way, several times a week, they NEVER got it right. I had to go back every time I ordered from there and after being forgotten waiting out front for my order to be fixed on several occasions, I finally gave up on this place. I think the worst part of this experience is that after all these repeated mistakes, the manager didn't seem to care and actually treated us as if we were the problem, completely unprofessional. While my expectations for places like this are not incredibly high, they can't even manage to make the most basic of amends for rude employees, foiled orders and in most cases inedible food. More attention to employee training with an emphasis on customer relations and quality control would go a long way in making this place an option for a quick lunch or breakfast on the go. We eat at this location often and love the burgers and shakes but today when we were there I happen to notice the restaurant report card was no where to be seen I have always checked it there and everywhere I eat. I finally seen it setting down on the counter behind some junk. I ask the lady checking me out why they had a 78-C and she said she didn't know she had not seen it. We went over to look at it and couldn't make out most of the writing so I said if I had seen that when I came in we would not have eaten there. As we were leaving anothe women came up which I think is the manager and was asking about what wwe were looking at then I heard her say "WELL IT IS WHAT IT IS". I thought that was pretty bad for someone in charge to say so I guess we will not return to this location. read more

Came here one night with my sister through drive thru. I ordered two number fours. I got both drinks, but only one burger and fries. I called to see if next time I come in I could just get the burger they forgot. They guy I was talking to was no help at all. I explained my situation, and asked if next time I come in I could just get the burger they forgot. He claimed I wanted a free burger and that was not allowed. First of all its not free if I paid for it, but didn't get it. I asked to speak to the manager and her/she refused to come to phone for whatever reason. I work in the service industry, and when a costumer asks to speak to the manager and they don't come to the phone is definitely disrespectful. In the end he took my name down, and said I would get the burger I paid for but didn't get next time I go in. I'm not sure he took my name down correctly on the count of he mispronounced it several times. I have never experienced such rude service before. This is not how you handle this type of situation. I wasn't even upset. I just wanted to make sure I would get what I paid for. read more

I've been there at least 3 times in the past 4 months at various times of the day. The service is always lousy. Seems like the servers are always standing around looking for something to do (how about cleaning). Had lunch there today with my daughter and her friend. The waiter (Ricardo) was VERY RUDE and slow. When we ask for honey mustard for the chicken nuggets he came back and threw them on the table. He was not left a tip due to the service we received. He chased the us out the door and flicked us off and made lude gestures to his privates. I will NEVER visit this restaurant again. read more

You can tell that they work very hard to satisfy the public and to make the restaurant industry what it is supposed to be friendly, quick, and delicious. My boyfriend and I decided to get something to eat after we got off work. It was around 11 pm when we got there. There were only two tables that had people at them so it was not busy at all. The "Please wait to be seated" sign was out so we stood up front and waited. There were probably about six employees standing behind the bar, including a manager, who were all standing around talking. All of them kept looking up at us but no one came over to seat us. We stood there for what seemed liked forever. After between five and ten minutes of waiting, we decided to seat ourselves. We sat down and the employees were still standing around talking. A few even made eye contact with me and didn't even budge. Close to ten minutes later, a waiter finally brought us menus and asked for our drink order. We both ordered waters and those came out right away. Then, he came back to get our food orders. I ordered bacon cheese fries and an M&M milkshake and my boyfriend ordered a steakhouse burger. The food took a while to come out. There was hardly anyone in the store so it should not have taken that long. When the server brought us our food he asked if I got my milkshake yet. I told him I had not and he said he would go check on it. At that time, my boyfriend had also asked for a root beer float. My fries were very disappointing. It looked like they took a piece of cheese, put it on top of the fries, and microwaved it for 15 seconds. And then there was one piece of flimsy bacon that they had broken into 3 pieces and thrown on top. My boyfriend said his burger was very dry. We would have complained, but it had taken so long for us to get food that we just sucked it up and ate it. We had both completely finished our food and it had been about 30 minutes since I ordered my shake. We sat and waited for a few more minutes and decided we've had enough. The server had already dropped off our check--with the milkshakes added to the total--so we brought it to the front to pay. There was a girl in line in front of us and the manager was ringing her up. The manager told the girl, very unpleasantly, that the computers were down and she'd have to wait. This just pissed me off even more. Finally, it was our turn to pay and we look over and what do we see in the window? Our milkshakes--45 minutes later. We told the manager that we never got them and we wanted them off our check. She apologized and only charged us for the food. I have never experienced horrible service like that. I would not recommend coming here. If you really want Steak and Shake, go to the one in Johns Creek. I've been there plenty times and have never had one complaint. read more
