We came for happy hour this past Friday. No happy hour menu is ever given out so unless you are a previous customer or looked online, you wouldn't even know about it. There are hardly any cocktails on the happy hour menu they took away my favorite blue one & just have a basic Margarita. It would be a better happy hour if all cocktails were $3-4 off the original price. It was 4 PM and 75° and they had all the plastic things closed on the patio. We had to ask them to open them which they had no problem with, but you would think they would've already been open. We always love their kettle chips and asparagus fries. We've frequented this restaurant since we moved into a house not far from it. We used to frequent another restaurant close to our house in John's Creek before we moved. While we've wanted to love this restaurant like the previous one, we've been disappointed every time we've gone. Tonight was the last straw. We are a party of five and a toddler. When we checked in with the hostess and she said it would be a 20 minute wait, which was acceptable. After 20mins went by and a booth that would accommodate us continued to be empty, (it was empty when we arrived) we questioned if we could be seated in it. The hostess said it was being held for an employee and we couldn't be seated. At that point we decided that we would never return to this place. You can't make reservations, but they will hold a table for an employee and turn away a paying customer. We enjoyed a nice dinner at a Japanese steak house around the corner. read more

Highly recommend ordering the Grilled Chicken Tortilla Salad if you are looking for a refreshing, crunchy salad with some protein. The Coriander Lime Dressing is *chef's kiss* and the crispy little tortilla strips are the greatest salad topper to ever exist. It's the perfect portion (especially for lunch if you're a breakfast skipper like me). If I'm really hungry and feeling indulgent, I love to start with their J.T.'s Kettle Chips with melted gorgonzola cheese, bacon, fresh tomato, and scallions. The Black Truffle Parmesan Fries are another delicious starter or side option. Service is always great at this location, and this most recent time on a Sunday afternoon it was quite busy but we were told 15-20 minute and received a text just before the 20 minute mark. It was a fairly cold day, and when the hostess said the table was ready on the patio I was worried, but she ensured us we would be nice and toasty out there with the heaters and she was not wrong. Was looking for a brunch spot to celebrate a birthday- their "brunch menu" consisted of two items: waffles w chicken (????) and a sandwich! I was turned off by the waffles w chicken idea and ask for two waffles instead. The waiter brought one waffle with some syrup. I asked for butter. Several minutes later they brought the second waffle with a dish of liquid butter. I think the rest of the party was dissatisfied with the "brunch menu" and ordered from the standard menu. I didn't hear any complaints about their food but I also didn't hear any raving. Tonight was the last time I'm eating here. I've had some disappointing experiences before, and decided to give them another try after about a year, but it's no better. 1. Food portions are small for the price. Don't come here hungry! 2. I got the Sunflower chicken salad. Not only was it VERY basic (lettuce with a few cranberries and gorgonzola cheese sprinkled on it with two small pieces of chicken), but some of the lettuce was wilted. The chicken was overcooked, and hard to cut with even a knife. I was still hungry after eating it. 3. Water glass sat empty for quite awhile. 4. Food comes quickly, you eat it quickly b/c of the small portions, and then you're done. So it's like fast food but with restaurant prices. 5. Only plus is the nice atmosphere. I ordered a steak salad medium-rare, and the steak was slightly overcooked. Still very good salad. The chef came out five minutes later with a new steak that was cooked perfectly, and apologized for the overcooked steak. I had not even complained. I'm primarily targeting the menu here, and within that, the particular item I ordered, which was the chicken panini. It's a fake panini. That's the short and easy version of my review. Flavor, fair. Experience, mediocre. A panini is a pressed sandwich. Ingredients are stacked, a weighted, heated press condenses the ingredients, gets the cheese melty, helps marry the flavors, etc. They used some ridiculous slices of "panini bread" that featured uniform "press marks" that strangely exactly align with the bread's shape. It was some form of food service pre-pressed nonsense bread product to lazy mode a "panini" and reduce the overhead on cleaning the cooking equipment. It makes for a disrespectful sandwich experience. They assume that I'm either ignorant of what the item I ordered is supposed to be, or that I'm just willing to eat whatever and not complain. They were half right. I was hungry, and as I said, the flavor was generally acceptable. They made no effort, though. It was a regular sandwich. By which I mean: Fake panini slice, sauce, greens, whole grilled chicken portion, thick slices of COLD mozzarella, sauce, fake panini slice. If I were to make a panini on actual focaccia bread, it would have an irregular organic shape, not square. It would include sliced grilled chicken instead of a whole portion. It would have actually been pressed under heat, making it crusty on the outside, melty on the inside. There would be toasty press marks on the outside of the bread, not uniform lines with no hint of contact with hot metal. I had requested bacon and onion as well, because I assumed the sandwich would be actually heat pressed. Since it wasn't, there was cold raw red onion to go with the cold, unmelted mozz. It was a really disappointing meal. If you don't want to make paninis, just don't. Why foist this shamwich upon the customer? read more

We cane to Marlow's Tavern as we were doing some shopping in the plaza it was in with free ample parking. Upon walking in, we did wait more than 5 mins before being seated and gave up and asked the bar if we were supposed to just sit anywhere or be seated. PS they were supposed to seat us. Luckily, the head chef there was so attentive and just sat us down and expressed apologies. We got sat outside in their covered, heated patio. We were most definitely forgotten out here as a server didn't come back for a BIT and we walked up to the bar to inquire. The head chef came back to get our orders and say sorry again and that he would find our server. From then on, the server was way more attentive! The chef brought out an order of kettle chips on the house and they were soooo good! Definitely a nice treat and so thoughtful! I ordered the burger and always love me a Marlow's burger. This is a pretty standard location of the Marlow's chain. They don't rotate the menu that much, so while the options are fun, they're not necessarily food items that I crave to come back for. Service: I can't speak for all the staff, but our waitress loves talking about food. She was honest when explaining some dishes as standard or comparable to familiar dishes, and she lit up when suggesting some of her favorite menu items. Though it probably wasn't necessary for her to mention certain dishes as ones she didn't prefer simply because of her own taste/pickiness, it did help to hear about the particular ingredients that contributed to some dishes being her favorites. Food: It's pretty standard for most Marlow's locations. The food is tasty and enjoyable, though I always find one aspect of it slightly off. For this recent visit, it was the fact that the salmon was undercooked for the "medium" that I ordered, which is interesting given that was the suggestion. Most items are on the saltier end. They're well plated and fit the tavern feel. Drinks: These are pretty average, and I don't them a bit underwhelming at Marlow's. My mule was on the sweeter end with little carbonation. Though they messed up my request for no ice so I understand I may be biased, I found the drink to be quite watery. Overall, you get what you expect here. The place gets busy around dinner, but the seating arrangement works well. I'll likely return, but I also acknowledge that there are other food options in the very immediate proximity, even though they have fewer drink options. read more

This Marlow's Tavern is located inside The Collections. My family and I bought tickets to a movie at AMC right across from Marlow's, so we decided to get dinner here beforehand. Marlow's was pretty busy, but they were able to seat us right away. Our server was warm, pleasant and attentive. We weren't in a terrible rush, but we did let our server know that we had a movie to catch in about an hour. We ordered the following: Truffled parmesan fries $6 Asparagus fries $6.8 Shrimp & grits $17 Asian ahi tuna (salad) $16 Black and blue steak (salad) $16 One thing I love Marlow's is its consistency. I've ordered these same items from other Marlow's before and they taste just as good here. The portions are also great and the prices reasonable. I finished my Asian ahi tuna salad, but hubs and my son didn't finish their black and blue steak salad and shrimp & grits and took part of them to go. Marlow's Tavern is certainly popular with the bar crowd. I presume it's a great spot for happy hour. I've dined in several times for lunch and dinner. They offer lots of traditional American fare--burgers, salads, steaks, salmon, etc. On my most recent visit, I ordered the salmon entree on a bed of greens and couscous with a port wine glaze. It was OK, the flavor profile just wasn't satisfying to me. I think a garlic mash would elevate the dish and eliminate the couscous. If I had to think of my favorite thing here it would probably be the truffled parmesan fries. I just simply haven't found many crave-worthy menu items for me. read more

Amazing food! I've had the fish tacos, asparagus fries, and on another occasion I had the poke bowl with salmon. All of these were really great choices. I also had the small Caesar salad which, you might think, how can that be original? But it was. I think they might have put Gruyère cheese on there In addition to the Parmesan. Sneaky, but so good. So, every restaurant has hiccups in service but it's really how it's managed that counts. I was eating alone and my server may* have been assigned to an 18-top which had him running. I mean, break-a-sweat-running. I never saw him after the Caesar salad, and I started questioning things. It had been a while since I placed my order with him. I wasn't in a hurry but gosh I was hungry. So, I may have put in some well placed queries, and the staff was ON IT. They rallied. And, by "rallied", I mean the ground shook with staff members covering for their co-worker who stopped by once dinner had arrived. You can tell they cared. They wanted to deliver excellent service and this was an oversight. Totally. I had one experience where the service was slow, but the manager was incredibly kind and I never complained about it.
