Within a strip mall, there's parking readily available. It's fast casual, meaning you'll order at the counter and then take a number where your food is quickly delivered to your table. They have breakfast until 10:30 AM, then there's a 30 min transition to lunch which starts at 11. I arrived at noon- the place is busy, they have so many options for meals that it was difficult to choose. I went with an Italian sub and a Diet Coke, I figured how can you go wrong with their number one item on the menu? Delicious, and with the banana peppers it made for a great sandwich! Service is so wonderful. And they have a bakery and bar in house....dangerous all around! Family friendly and for me, having a casual lunch meeting was no problem! Support small owned businesses!

I was greeted LIKE I was wanted! So thank you to the wonderful young lady behind the register taking orders. I was scanning the menu as it was my first time visiting. After learning this information she quickly ran me through some of her favorite options, and answered all questions(knowledgeably I might add) I had myself about the menu. I chose the Marshal as well as a slice of the Heat of the Week. Because....why not. And by the way, the Marshall is not shown. My belly would not allow me to reach for my camera after first visualization. The pizza was heaven at first bite. Perfect undercarriage while fresh ingredients cooked to perfection on top. Then......the Marshal. Ooooohhhhhh the Marshal. Their version of a hot Italian beef. And what a phenomenal version at that. Wonderful spice and the right about of heat. Tender juicy beef. No regrets. I was introduced to Miss Marie and talk about a blessing on Earth. Talked to me like an old friend of the family. Even checked on me herself after receiving my food to go. Can not wait to go back!! 10 outta 10!

Five Boroughs Pizza Tavern has an incredible steampunk motif. The environment is the perfect modern rustic setting. In terms of environment and ambiance alone, this would be a 5-star place. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive. I sat at the bar with my musician friend's entourage. After perusing the menu and listening to recommendations, my eyes landed on one item: calamari. I am a very big fan of calamari, and I haven't had it for a long time. What could go wrong? Sadly, I'd rate the calamari a 2-stars out of 5. I considered sending it back multiple times and swapping to something like their legendary meatballs, but I genuinely hate sending food back unless it's genuinely bad. The calamari lacked the flavors I typically find at Italian restaurants. While I appreciate the light batter and lighter frying from a health standpoint, a staggering amount of the calamari was soft and soggy. Their presentation style frankly made it so this shouldn't be the case, but it's a natural byproduct of light batter, light frying. Overall, Five Boroughs Pizza Tavern is probably beloved by locals, and for good reason. My friend's group certainly likes the place. I'm sure I'll eventually be back. I'm sure the meatballs will elevate this place for me to 4 stars or maybe even 5. Til then, I walk away deeply disappointed because of the calamari.
