We arrived at 8:07 pm. Well after the dinner rush. I ordered a soda - caffeine free- when the waitress brought the drinks she was unsure of which on was caffeine free. We placed our orders - my burger was not what I ordered. The food arrived 50 minutes after we arrived. The couple that came in ahead of us was seated and had eaten their food, paid and left before we got our food. A couple that came in about 20 minutes after us has already gotten their food and are almost through. I asked for a manager. I calmly explained the situation, the food arrived 50 minutes after arrived. She said she would take care of the ticket. They returned with a new ticket I looked to see "what take care of meant" a three dollar discount. read more

Did not get waited on until 40 minutes after we were seated. Waitress was nice. Got milkshakes 10 minutes after being waited on. Food did not come out for another 20 minutes. Gets 2 stars for good food. read more

Horrible drive thru service, stuck in the line for 15-20 minutes, slow, slow. Menu says breakfast is served from 12am, I requested a breakfast item at 12:15am and was told breakfast wasn't being served yet, something about a change in shift and no one there to cook the breakfast items.....then that's false advertising, take that off your food sign then! read more

This place is terrible. Service is always slow. Not the waitstaff fault they usually only have one person waiting tables with 4 or 5 people standing around in the kitchen. Last time we went I order a large chili cheese fries. When they came out the fries were cold and there was no meat in the chili only beans. I had to flag down someone to get them taken away and off my ticket because of course, our waitress was running her ass off waiting on every table in the place. The manager is the one that actually took the chili cheese fries. I told her I wanted them removed from our check because I wasn't going to eat them. I explained to her about the lack of meat in the chili and them being cold. She didn't say a word or offer an apology or offer to make it right. As she was walking away, my son saw her roll her eyes. When we went to pay the cashier and another employee stood behind the counter flirting with two girls in front of the counter and ignored us. Our waitress walked by and asked if she could help me and I told her I was trying to pay our bill. She got their attention and asked them to check me out and told them our table number. That's when we find out the manager didn't take the fries off of our check. I told them I wasn't paying for them and someone else had to come and show them how to take them off. I was paying in cash and asked for some smaller bills so that I could tip the waitress and the cashier rolled his eyes at me. Service is terrible here. Nobody will welcome you as you come in. You have to wait to be seated which is fine if people would actually seat you. They don't clean up the tables after customers leave so the empty tables are covered in dishes. The manager needs to be fired and get someone who will actually make the crew do their job. read more

This place has the worst customer service of all the locations I visited. Don't let 2 cars be in front of you or you will be stuck waiting for half a hour. Every time they brought a order to me it was the car behind me. After the 5th time it was time to leave. What a waste of my time. The food is ok but will no longer tolerate the terrible service. Waited over 15 minutes for order but as always food was good. I visit here often and enjoy the atmosphere. On 1/21/17, I visited the locayion on Hwy 5 in Douglasville, GA. I was fine with the food even though the wait was extremely long. I just don't like any young man walking around my food and preparing my food with their psnts hanging off their buttox and then trying to cover it with their short because he tefuses to be in working attire and pants on his waiste. This is my third attempt to try this location. Every time I have had poor service. They do not get in a hurry and have no problem making their customers wait. I decided this time to go through the drive through since I have a gift card and there was only 2 cars in the line. It has taken 10 minutes to just get up to the speaker. This is unfortunate. this is just about the last time we try this place ! We were there approx. 15 minutes before ever being greeted by a waitress! then at least another 10 or so before we received drinks! The food well.... it was a bit! we spent close to 2 hours , when we were in a hurry to get to a braves game, which we were late for !! I love steak and shake but this joke of an establishment has ruined it for me. They are consistently the slowest most incompetent and poorly run food place I've ever been. Never have I had hot fries. We were excited when Steak N Shake opened up in Douglasville, we love eating at the other locations. This location was great when they first opened up,but lately the service and food are just poor quality. When we have gone through the drive thru, we sat in line for extended amounts of time to be disappointed when we get home to eat the food due to the food tasting like it sat in a warmer too long or just not fresh ( we live only a short distance from this location), that is if the order is even correct. We decide to go inside to eat and it takes a while to be seated, the tables are not cleaned well. The buns on the burgers were too hard to eat and the manager comped the meal. So we decided to give them another try and this time the meat on the burgers was overcooked so much it was hard and the fries were rubbery. read more

Ok I love me some Steak & Shake. I even worked there for a few months when I was 17 years old(32 now) Highway 5 ohhh man, you guys are going to RUIN This great brand. This is the third time I have went to this location & last. I walked in with my family, MESSS, tables dirty, waiting 8 mins before being seated. Kept looking around noticing the workers walking around, some outside smoking, on side and in front of the location. NOT COOL. After we where seated, we waiting for 15min. NOBODY came to our table, The girl who was supposed to be working the table, kept walking away. after that time, I sent my family to the car, Went to the cashier, waiting in front of to girls for 2 mins, Did say high, didnt say a word, then finally looked up. I then told them they should get it together, to let the manager know this place is a dump. The girl with big eye brows and weirdo hair rolled her eyes and didn't event say a word. I went through the drive thru today to get my kids and I lunch and couldn't believe how rude the person on the other end of the speaker was to me. When she first came on, she was talking to another employee and I had to sit and wait until they finished their conversation, while listening to their gibberish on the other end for about 30 seconds. She then asked me what I wants and each item, she asked sarcastic questions and had an attitude when I replied back to her with answers. After the third item on my order and having to answer to her rude sarcasm, I finally said I wanted to cancel my order because of her attitude. I guess she either did not care or she was amused, because she said to another employee "she wants to cancel because of my attitude".... Instead of apologizing, she thought her actions were cute. I then told her that she was unbelievable and she told me to just keep driving. I stopped at the window to maybe speak to her manager, but the girl was standing there and did not open the window. This is a huge disappointment and she is a problem. She needs a lesson in not only customer service but also a life lesson in that having an attitude like this, she will only be a cashier at Steak and Shake for the rest of her life or maybe if you are smart, you will even write her up or fire her. I would say that I cannot believe how I was treated, but that would be a lie. I will never recommend going to this Steak and Shake because of this one employee. If you have one like this, you probably have more. I don't want a coupon or a free meal out of this. I want her to know that she did something wrong and her to be held accountable. read more

This is the worst Steak n' Shake I have ever been to. I've lived in Douglasville for a long time and this is the worst service in the entire county. I can't believe they are still open. I have probably gone to this restaurant over 15 times since it opened and I will never go back. The last time we went a few months ago the service was the absolute worst. The waitress didn't care about our meal, her job, or getting anything right. My brother got the wrong drink, didn't get a replacement drink until after we got our food. I ordered the chili as an appetizer and didn't get it until the food came out (45 minutes after we sit down in a slow restaurant) and it did not have the onions and cheese that I ordered and it was cold. We asked for napkins three times and never got any at all. When I addressed that I did not want the chili since it was wrong the waitress shrugged and walked off. The food is only ever mediocre and the drive thru wait is always horrendous. This restaurant either needs an entire new manager or it needs to shut down. It's never clean or timely and everyone always has an attitude. Out of all the times I've been there I've had good service twice. I will never go back. read more

I am very disturbed about the service that I received at this location. It took 10 mins for anyone to come to our table to get our drink order. The floor was so slippery and greasy, all the tables were dirty with left over dishes from people that had left prior to our arrival. Our shakes took forever to come out, as a matter of fact, we got our food before we got our drinks which were ordered 25 mins prior. As we were starting to eat, I noticed a waitress who started cleaning off tables. All of a sudden, she started wiping down the middle pole of the table and then took the wash cloth and wiped the floor underneath the table! YES, THE FLOOR!! After she wiped the floor, she dipped the wash cloth back into the water pale that she was using to wipe the tables, wrung it out, and then proceeded to wipe the other tables with THE SAME CLOTH USED TO WIPE THE FLOOR! I am totally disgusted and will never return. I wondered why the ketchup bottle and the table were all slippery and gross feeling! Probably because the same cloth used to wipe the nasty floor cleaned those also! So disgusting! Beware, eating here may make you sick!!!! read more
