Absolutely awful. The quality of the food is pretty standard with other locations I've been too, but I was floored by 1) the fact my food came out before my drinks 2) that the kitchen had "ran out of glasses" so my watery milkshake came out in a to-go cup and 3) that getting any attention from the wait staff is practically impossible. The food is good, not great but good. My wife and I have been there twice since they opened. Each time we order food and tell the waitress that we will order shakes once we finish our meal. Each time they brought our check before we ordered our shakes. Well after ordering the shake this is where the 'fun' begins. How long will it take to receive our order? The first time the girl forgot our order. Really?!? It's not hard but we chalked it up to the place just opening up. After 20 minutes and multiple times asking when we would get our shakes they showed up. Needless to say I complained and the manager comped the shakes. The second time we went in there we had the same problem. I guess either we order the shakes in the first place or just not worry about them. Really for a $4 glass of ice cream it's just not worth it. Needless to say I really feel the wait staff needs better training. Unfortunately I do not think we will be going back there again. For the money I spent we could have gone to The Olive Garden and enjoyed a much quieter place and better for for about the same money. It's sad because we always enjoyed going to the Steak n Shake over in Smyrna and was excited they opened on here in Douglasville. Maybe one day, after all the hype has wore off, we might give them one more chance. But for now, sorry, I am spending my money somewhere else. Longest drive thru wait EVER! Choose from one of the other fast food/burger places around. Food isn't even worth the wait

Took the family here (2 adults, 2kids) for lunch - nothing spectacular to say about the food. The shakes were tasty, but I had to send my back to be remade because it was chocolate...with some "pink goo" in my glass. The shakes are almost as expensive as the meals, doubling each person's cost. $50 for a family of 4 for a mediocre lunch after an hour wait - not my cup of tea. Came here this afternoon for half price shakes and a snack. This Steak and Shake location is right next to Popeyes on the busy highway 5. This place is pretty busy for a weekday afternoon but probably because of the half price shakes. The shakes are usually 3 dollars but you can get them for a dollar fifty during happy hour.(2-4pm weekdays) The ordering guy or girl was nice. He or she gave us time to chooses what we wanted and he or she was polite. We got to vanilla shakes and a chicken tender 4$ meal. Something that makes steak and shake stand out is their variety of fries. They have multiple varieties but I settled for the Parmesan fries. The food was decent. The shakes were harder to eat then other shakes I've had but once you could actually taste it it was pretty good. The chicken tenders were a little better than the generic kind but still not really great. The fries were pretty thin in cut and were sprinkled with herbs and Parmesan powder. For French fries I have to say pretty good.the meal only came with three measly little chicken tenders so it's more a snack then a meal We had a some chicken tenders, fries and two shakes for around seven dollars. I will never eat at this Steak and Shake again. It was the worst service ever and the staff couldn't have been more rude. We waited for close to 30 minutes for our food because our waitress disappeared to the restroom and left our food sitting on the counter, she never asked to refill our drinks, and we couldn't get needed condiments because she never came to check on us. We also never received our milkshakes that we went to the counter and asked for 30 minutes before we left. The restaurant was not busy and they had adequate staff behind the counter. There is really no excuse for terrible service...eye rolling and rude attitudes are completely unacceptable. read more

I love steak and shake. I'm new to this area and was hoping to make this location a regular thing. The first time was horrible. I decided to give it one more chance and was let down once again. Both visits they were out of vegetable soup. Anyone that frequents S&S knows that the soup is a MUST. The whole time I sat and waited for the shakes we ordered after our lunch, our dirty plates we on the table. MULTIPLE times the staff walked by without attempting to pre bus the table. I even neatly stacked all the plates for them. I look and see the manager texting at the counter. I'll just have to wait to go back to the Alpharetta location to go again. read more

Only had 3 milk shake flavors. Gave me a dirty cup with a coffe lid and said we are out of those too. Then the double steak burger was full of mayo. And hot dog was missing 1/2 bun. Sorry service! Had to ask for chili twice. The waitress never returned after we received the food. We ran out of drink and had to go to the cashier to ask for a to go box. Then we used coupons from Red Plum and even the manager entered them incorrectly and ended up upcharging our receipt. My husband had to tell them how much it was supposed to be. Lastly, we received the most pathetic servings of fries. They were tiny and all crunchy crumbs. The Hiram location is worth the drive to not deal with this location! read more

Horrible service. It took 15 mins before anyone came to ask us if we had been helped. After sitting in the restaurant for 20 mins we have water. No one came in after us and everyone in the restaurant had ordered so why. But 7 out of the 8 workers were in the kitchen and half of them were talk to each other. Will not come back! The wait in the drive through was 20 minutes for two cars. I just ordered two large shakes.

I will never go to this location again. No matter which location I go to, there's always 10-15 min wait to get my order. So I decided to order online thinking that would speed up the process, nope! I still had to wait 15 minutes due to short staffing. While waiting I was disgusted to see none of the cooks wearing hair nets and two of them had shoulder length dreads. Then my food was awful! My hamburgers buns were so hard, Fries were very cold, the my tomatoes on my salad were extremely soggy and my croutons were stale. Great service by all of the employees including general manager Derek and our server Jamal. ordered the country skillet which was a good amount that I had to take half of it home because I couldn't finish it all. Went thru drive thru. They had a sign on speaker saying let them know when you are ready. Server asked me to wait. I waited an appropriate amount of time. Then I said I'm ready again. Still asked me to wait. I finally just drove around to wait for the two cars ahead of me to get their orders. When I told server I got tired of waiting he then advised me computer was down. I was the second person at the drive thru and I waited almost 15 minutes. When I passed the windows to the restaurant, it was 3/4 empty due to the fact that it was pouring rain outside. I ordered onion rings instead of fries and that seemed to be a major crisis for the take out guy in the window. Then to totally blow their minds I tried to pay with the app on my phone. The guy in the window apologized and said he was new. Maybe the 5-6 servers I saw standing around taking in the restaurant could have been helping. I went there because I wanted to go there sort of nostalgic for the ones from my youth in tampa. shake was great, just like I remembered. got it at the restaurant so it was just like the old days. got a garlic burger that was great, a new invention. it didn't run like a machine but it didn't 40 years ago either. Like most steak and shakes this will let you down. One of the burgers we ordered came without any of the ordered toppings. Easily fixed. When we went to pay, the store could not figure out how to work gift cards. I called to ensure we had money on the card and each time the card declined. Forget it - ordered 2 sausage egg biscuits and hash browns asked to pull up no one behind me waited 10 more minutes finally asked for my money back and I was told sorry we had to cook hash browns and they were frozen. Well duh I would hope they were frozen but it doesn't take hash brown patties that long to cook. Won't be trying you again. This location continues to lower the bar. I've had slow service in the past here and tonight beat that. We were met at the door and informed that there was a 2 hour wait for food. They claimed it was due to staffing but I saw 4 people on the grills, a couple of waitresses, and 3 people around the register plus the poor girl having to tell people the problem. To start off I would like to say it there was a ZERO rating they would of received it. I went to this establishment and ordered what I usually get. This time when the food arrived it was placed and the server just left. I found out why. Instead of having silver wars K was given just a small plastic fork (have you ever tried to eat chili with a fork, not a sport but a fork). When she finally came back I said something and the excuse was "all of them are in the washer". She could of said something to begin with and then bring silver out when it was ready. If this establishment is so short on silverware maybe they might want to buy some more. If I had wanted to eat with plastic K would of ordered my meal to go.
