So me and my friend went to this Steak 'n Shake location off of west Washington & 465 They immediately told us they were out of hot dog buns and all shakes. I really wanted a shake. We ordered 2 frisco melts and a cup of chili We asked for the frisco melts to be made with less butter to relieve some of the greasiness and they did actually do a great job of that. the frisco melts were not to bad. But the cup of chili I received , with no onions as requested, was FULL of grease. So incredibly greasy and SALTY. It was unbearable to eat. Im not sure what happened to the chili but it did not taste like old fashioned Steak 'n Shake chili.

The NEW Prime Steak Burger Looks nothing like the picture not even the knife.

Last time I was here I said I would every go back. Everybody knows how thin steak burgers are mine was rare. I just can't eat rare meat, so I just didn't eat it. This time I thought it would be better, so I seen those new Prime Steakburgers the one with the knife stuck in them. I got that mushroom truffle prime burger my husband got one also but he got o plain prime burger. They made him a patty melt he said that was not what he ordered,so they took it back gave me mine. I cut it in half and it was raw inside just like they put it on the grill little brown then turned it. When she brought my husband back I told her mine was not cooked she said she would get me another one I said no that's ok I don't want anything. When she took it back to the cook he bitched the whole time we were there I cooked that right and I left it on the right amount of time. He just hot would get over it I was trying to. He even told her not to throw it away he got mad because she did. The only reason I give it two stars is because our waitress was nice about it. Buy the way the picture looks nothing like what they serve (look at my picture) now I know why there was no knife didn't need anything to hold that bun on.

Me and my friends came here tonight for a quick bite. Service was really good we only waited 15 mins and our food was out a grilled cheese sandwich and fries is only $1.50 the food was just ok the service was better than the food .

Doesn't look like much but this is good stuff and i always do weird things to my S&S food so i added chicken tenders lol

Im a keep short and simple... I always get good food here can't get enough of the "frisco melt" the service is just below standard it always seems they never have enough staff and the ones that are there usually are horrible waiters. I won't even get into the drive thru is a joke. Will i still get my late fix there??? Of course lol

Dined 12/8/12 Clean, Dinner like design. There are 4 items on the $4 menu board: 1) Triple Burger, 2) Double Cheeseburger, 3) Single Bacon Cheeseburger, 4) Chicken tenders. I ordered the Bacon...Yum, Cheeseburger!!! The first thing I noted was that the meat is cooked on the flattop grill until there is a nice carmelization on the burger. The Bacon... Y U M, was just the way I liked it, chewy crispy and actually tasted like Bacon (Yummers), ya know salty smokey bacon flavor unlike some fast food places where they serve you rubber bacon strips. Usually McDonald's is the standard for shoestring fries, but Steak N Shake's fries are so thin that you could have slid them into the drinking straw. Everything was served on a real plate and delivered to my table. I usually only give fast food chain stores 3 stars unless something was done out of the ordinary... well as I was getting ready to leave, the waitress offered me a refill on my soda (called pop here), when I told her I needed to go she brought me a fresh soda in a TOGO cup....gratice / no charge. This location earned 4-stars in my book.

Supposed to be frisco melt. It's garbage.

We arrived after looking up "Lunch near Airport" and this place popping with good reviews and a high TripAdvisor position. Gayle and I had a very enjoyable Lunch. The inside was bright, clean, well-appointed and spacious. Our wait person was friendly and prompt. I ordered the tomato bisque and grilled cheese special, while Gayle opted for a Patty Melt (with Fries). Both choices were delicious and just the right amount of food for me. Gayle left a fair amount of food on her plate, mostly due to a huge sandwich and lot for fries. I appreciated that this place offered beers that didn't have the word IPA in them, with my Oatmeal Stout being a great choice. Gayle went for her favorite Chardonnay preference. We both nursed our drinks and the fries as we were in no hurry to get the airport. The Library Restaurant and Pub was a solid choice, and one that we would repeat for either Lunch or Dinner.

We ordered breakfast items and for the price I have to admit I was slightly underwhelmed. I appreciated they did a breakfast bowl, but it seemed small and mostly hash browns. The flavor was ok but needed spices or cheese or something to pump it up. Maybe I don't know what to order but my impression was it was fun to try but not a go to spot. You feel like you're going back in time about 40 years - and that's actually a good thing. The staff are all extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had the steak omelette. I've eaten many steak omelettes and this is the first time I've ever been able to order the steak cooked to my preference. Most places serve them well done. I asked for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It also had cheese and diced green peppers and onions. Nice size and great flavor. Their hash browns were perfect - crispy on the outside but tender inside. The pancakes are large and nicely prepared - not too heavy but not too light! The waffles are also very good - very large and circular - not as thick as Belgian waffles but very good nonetheless. The fried sliced loaded potatoes were excellent. Cheese, bacon, peppers and onions - again, very tasty. Finally, biscuits and sausage gravy were also very good. The gravy had plenty of sausage in it and it was not too runny and not too thick! If we're ever in town again we will definitely be back!

At noon, there were a couple people at the bar watching football and having lunch. We took a booth. Charisse, the bartender and only server was super engaging, attentive and went the extra mile to ensure a positive experience. Not only did she check on us, but the cook also came out and checked on our meals. We had 5 star service. The menu offers pizza, sandwiches and salads. Prices are reasonable. I selected the taco salad with pulled pork. The salad was immense with fresh lettuce, tomato and cheese. The pulled pork was good. The fried shell was a bit greasy. Otherwise, the salad was good and filling. My husband had the Big Western Burger which he raved about (and he can be critical). The burger was specially prepared medium rare for him and it was cooked perfectly. He loved the bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce toppings. He gave the burger a definite 5 stars. The table we selected was a bit cold (it was snowing out). Every time someone came into the building, a blast of cold came in. We probably could have moved but the table was already set. The bar is 21 and over only, so leave the kids home. I'd recommend trying lunch. They have daily lunch specials.

My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The market has a fun selection of local goods, and the whole space feels thoughtfully designed. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The breakfast sandwich came from a warmer, and the croissant had become soft and mushy. The egg was a firm, precooked square, and the bacon was limp. The pepper jam was delicious and easily the best part, but it could not make up for the lack of texture in the rest of the sandwich. The chocolate croissant looked beautiful and had plenty of visible layers, but it was surprisingly dense and breadlike rather than light and flaky. Our cold brew and matcha were both good, although the matcha did not have much flavor despite being freshly whisked. Service was also slow and strangely disengaged, which made ordering feel more awkward than it needed to be. There is a lot to like about the atmosphere and idea behind Borage, but the execution during this visit did not live up to the presentation. Definitely going to have to try a sit down brunch next time.

We started with Tony's Favorite Nachos which consist of steak, chicken, chorizo or pulled pork (we chose steak) sautéed onions, peppers, house made queso, pico de gallo, guacamole, and black beans on top of freshly fried tri-colored chips. The flavors were truly amazing and often places skimp on the 'stuff' and give you a million chips - Dawsons has the perfect proportion so if anything, you have 'stuff' after the chips are gone. We loved these nachos and were from Texas so that says a lot. We also tried the Firecracker Shrimp, which are shrimp tossed in house-made honey sriracha sauce. These were unlike anything I've had. They had a crispy crunchy exterior and the sauce was to die for - I would buy the sauce alone if I could! It had heat but not crazy heat and the flavor was superb. Our table had the Beef Stroganoff. I must say I am not a fan of beef stroganoff - but this actually was prepared very well and had a very good flavor which kind of surprised me! We also tried the TriColored Tortellini with Chicken which had chicken, mushrooms, peas, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto cream sauce. The flavors were amazing together and I could have eaten more of this as well! We also had the Blackened Chicken Quesadilla which was a Cheddar jalapeño tortilla filled with sautéed chicken, black beans, roasted corn, house tomato relish, roasted red peppers, spinach, Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese. It was served with sour cream and Dawson's Cajun ranch. Although this was on the appetizer menu, it was easily an entree. It was stuffed with the ingredients and very flavorful and filling. All of the ingredients blended together very well and offered a mouth full of flavor in every bite! Finally, we tried the Bayou Chicken Salad which comes with Blackened chicken on top of iceberg/romaine mix with black beans jalapenos, roasted corn, fresh guacamole, house tomato relish, Cheddar, and Mozzarella cheese. It's served with tri-colored chips and Dawson's Cajun ranch. I left the chips and corn off. This was a generous salad with superb flavors. The dressing was wonderful - a little heat and a lot of flavor. Again, this was very filling as well. There was nothing I could find 'wrong' with Dawsons. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was just extremely good. I wish I could transport this place back to Texas so I could eat there more often!
