We were looking for a local tavern for lunch and we happened upon Westside Pub. The Pub is an interesting neighborhood sports bar and pool hall near Avon. They have a rather large stage, so they probably have bands or entertainment at night. There are a number of signs warning of restrictions and it appears that they do a security search at night to restrict weapons and drugs. At noon, there were a couple people at the bar watching football and having lunch. We took a booth. Charisse, the bartender and only server was super engaging, attentive and went the extra mile to ensure a positive experience. Not only did she check on us, but the cook also came out and checked on our meals. We had 5 star service. The menu offers pizza, sandwiches and salads. Prices are reasonable. I selected the taco salad with pulled pork. The salad was immense with fresh lettuce, tomato and cheese. The pulled pork was good. The fried shell was a bit greasy. Otherwise, the salad was good and filling. My husband had the Big Western Burger which he raved about (and he can be critical). The burger was specially prepared medium rare for him and it was cooked perfectly. He loved the bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce toppings. He gave the burger a definite 5 stars. The table we selected was a bit cold (it was snowing out). Every time someone came into the building, a blast of cold came in. We probably could have moved but the table was already set. The bar is 21 and over only, so leave the kids home. I'd recommend trying lunch. They have daily lunch specials. read more

This is a cool dive bar near the airport. Very diverse crowd and everyone seems very chill. Age range from 25 to 65. It looks like they have a little stage for live music and dancing on weekends. There are several pool tables and I think they host APA pool leagues here. There are also about half a dozen electronic dartboard. They sell flights too. read more

After visiting this establishment's website, the menu looked inviting hadn't been here since it was Claude and Annie's many years ago. Thought we would check it out. There were two couples place was not crowded. Took a little while for the waitress to come. She was pleasant. Menu turned out not to be what expected much shorter limited choices. But what I had was good. Everybody seemed to enjoy their meal. But what was surprising that I wasn't expecting was an automatic 20% gratuity add-on. Nothing was said no notes on the menu about it but both of us, our tab and the second couples tab both had a 20% add-on. We met a group of old friends who used to work together here after work on Friday evening. If you've been here in the past when it was Claude & Annie's (early 80s), the layout hasn't changed. There is a large bar as soon as you enter, tall-top tables to the left end with several pool tables, dart boards, and a jukebox. Only one person was behind the bar, and no one was handling the floor. We ordered our drinks and appetizers at the bar. The bartender was exceptional handling not only the very large bar top, which was full but the orders from those sitting on the floor. The bar is a good spot to play pool or darts. Long ago, we used to play darts and pool here weekly. The jukebox covers many types of music, and patrons keep the music playing. The menu has your typical bar food, and the appetizers we ordered were tasty. I'm not sure why they didn't have a server to cover the floor, but servers are hard to come by now. Super close to my house so I thought, why not check it out?? First of all, the drinks are super affordable (and strong) I recommend getting whatever is the special of the day (usually like $3) and you will enjoy your night for cheap and be able to get your moneys worth of drinks. Second, the food menu for this being a little bar is insane. There are SO many food options and like real dinner options instead of the basic "bar food". I ended up getting loaded Nachos (they were amazing!) but had a hard time choosing between their Manhattan or country fried steak. (Right, extensive menu for a hole in the wall bar!) overall, The ambience of this place is nice with good food, good drinks, good music, and plenty of things to do! My husband and I have been eagerly waiting for something to fill this spot again since Sully's closed it's doors. Well, it was worth the wait. The new owners did a great job cleaning up the place and making it more appealing. The water issues are gone. They've added a back smoker's patio so that people are not congregated at the front door. The removal of the overhead storage and cubby holes is great and it's been replaced with a LOT of televisions. If there is an important game, hopefully, they turn off the jukebox. That was one downside that I noticed. We'd be listening to the playoff game and then someone would play a song and the game sound would go away. We were there on a Sunday and the beer special was $6 pitchers of Bud Light. Not only do they chill there mugs, but also the pitchers so the beer is nice and cold. The menu is great. I can't wait to go back and try more things. We ordered the Cheese Logs as an appetizer and they were huge! They are homemade and the breading was great. I could only eat one. For dinner, we split the Chopped Steak. It as well was a very large portion. The steak was thick and incredible. Lots of gravy for both the steak and the mashed potatoes. Be sure to specify if you want onions. I thought that they were automatically included, but we did not receive any. It may have been because we ordered the mushrooms on the side. In summary, try this place out. Rob and Courtney were great behind the bar and the food is top notch. Enjoy! read more

My daughter ordered a burger and it was huge, she ate half and was full. My husband got the tenderloin and it did not disappoint either. We have been coming here since before COVID but we ate actual meals for the first time yesterday. And it was so reasonably priced with great flavors. This is literally the worst pub in all Indy. The service is shitty the food took 45 minutes to come out. When they brought my food they gave me someone else's food me and my friend ate off the plate and they gave it to the right customer. We have visited Westside Pub four times now. Every time has given a different opinion. Earlier bar staff is friendly and accomadating, night shift not so much. Drinks vary from not cold and not well made. Food that we have purchased has been Tenderloins that were excellent and pizza that I would rate some of the worse I've ever had.
