ZERO STARS Lawrenceville Suwannee location First off I want to say that I LOVE Steak and Shake. It is, without a doubt, my favorite hamburger joint. With that said, I will do without, rather than ever return to this restaurant. I went today at 4:10 in the afternoon, a Tuesday, with two of my grandchildren. When we arrived there were only 2-3 other tables sat in the entire store. We were the only ones to arrive when we did and no one else arrived for about 15 more minutes. We were sat in a booth right under the server's station where everyone gathers. We sat, and we sat and we sat. I finally looked at my grandchildren and said in a voice loud enough to be heard by the people right above me, which included what I assumed to be the manager - " I wish I was a secret shopper for steak and shake because then I would be timing how long it is taking for us to just be greeted". We were still ignored. We were passed by every server. After about 15 minutes, a couple of other parties came in and were seated. So I looked at my grandchildren and told them if someone did not come to our table soon, we were leaving - again saying it loud enough to be heard by the employees standing right above me which still included the manager. Still nothing! About 5 more minutes passed, and then I saw a server approach a table that had just been sat! I said, "Come on, let's go." We stood up - right in front of the employees and manager and proceeded to walk out. I turned to look and they were just watching us leave - no apology or anything. We stopped in the entrance and stood there and dialed the customer service number with all of them still looking - nothing! I will never return to this restaurant! read more

The food here is good. The fries are entirely too thin for me, but my burger was moist and hot, so they get a huge plus for that. I received everything that I asked for. The cashier at the drive thru had good customer service, and she gave me ketchup without me having to ask. This was my young daughters first time trying this food, and when she ate the last bite, she gave it a thumbs up. :-) read more

Steak 'n Shake should be ashamed of the service at this location. It's like playing Russian roulette when you go in here. Never know if you're going to get food or not. Don't be surprised if people that come in 20 minutes after you get their food 10 minutes before you. Not going back. read more

Worst location. Worst company. They don't care for customers and for doing the right thing. Your company has been refunding my parents since Jan 31. You've refunded THREE times and still nothing. You refuse to give them cash back. The transaction was done with a debit card. Give the MONEY BACK. Is your company doing that bad that you need their money to keep yourself afloat?!? Our experience today, We are a party of 2 adults and one child. Upon entering, there were 12 empty but still dirty tables, we were made to wait while they cleaned a booth. We weren't asked our seating preference, and the booth seating was left very wet forcing me to sit on the very edge. We waited. After 15 minutes our order was taken. We waited. After 30 minutes 2 of our drinks were brought to the table, we were told the tea for the 3rd drink order was being made ( the table next to us which had just sat down minutes ago had just received their drinks which included tea). We waited. By this time there were now 16 empty tables, yet to be bussed. We waited, the manager came and asked if our order had been taken. We waited. After approximately 45 minutes the food arrived to our table. No silverware, no napkins, we had to ask for each. The food was not worth what it cost. The fries were stale after sitting in the window for 15 or more minutes, the burgers were tasteless , as was our son's chicken strips. The first arriving drinks were in need of refill at food arrival and we had to ask for that, and only 1 was refilled.. Waited 35 minutes after I place my order before getting up to leave. My lunch break was over I need to go back to work hungry or not. I stopped the manager to explain to him that other people were eating that came in 15 minutes after I did.He did not apologize or anything else professional. Zero stars!!!! Walk in order strawberry shake and it never comes. 2 customers come after me and they receive strawberry shake before me. I walk up to the manger and tell them to keep the 1.50 for the shake I paid for. This location sucks!!!!! read more

Had drink spilled on me with no apology or acknowledgement. They did not even clean it up for the entire 30 mins we were there. Just picked up the ice and put a wet floor sign over it with every e walking through it. Food order came quick and two of the orders were totally wrong. Waitress did nothing for 15 mins. The pancakes & hash browns were great.......when they finally arrived. Ridiculously slow. There were 2 other tables when we arrived. One table was already eating, so for some reason it took us 25 minutes to get our food. Very unorganized. I thought that it was funny that the server asked me if I wanted compound on my pancakes. I asked her what she said and she repeated the question again. My server asked me twice if I wanted COMPOUND on my pancakes!! I told her "yes" I would like blueberry compote for my pancakes. walked in the door was seated , choose a corner booth , after that all I seen was a few servers tending to their tables and there was at least 2 just chatting away by the soda fountain stations . waited for 5 minutes while everyone looked at each other , to see who was gonna take my order. A few more minutes passed till the young lady that greeted me and was tending to her customers came by and asked if someone had taken my order ,I responded by saying that it looked like no one wanted to take my order, she said she was sorry that they were under the impression that Will one of the servers was gonna take my order . I placed my order with her and she brought my drink out fast , food was brought out from whom I guess was my server Will . HE WAS IN A BAD MOOD . I still said thank you , and smiled , I finished eating 20 minutes later and had already finished my drink hoping I could get another but no server in sight . And no check also. That's fine I know exactly how much the bill is I go the other location on Pleasant Hill all the time . Walked up to the Manager and gave him the money and told him what I ordered and that I hadn't gotten no check. The server whose was supposed to be taking care of me was sitting .... The drive thru is horrible. It is super slow, today I sat in line for 25 minutes and watched two cars behind me leave. The only reason I didn't leave was because I was trapped in line. This is not the time I've had this happen. Last time I left after 10 minutes of waiting before even getting to place my order. This time I was able to get my order in a relatively quick fashion but once I did the line was stopped for so long I put my car in park so I could take my foot of the break for a minute. I ordered a milkshake, that was it, I saw it next to the window as I was waiting for someone so I could pay and get it. That took another few minutes. If this was a one time thing or they were having an off day I'd understand but this is constantly happening and I am done going to this location until I see improvement. I go to GGC so the location is convenient, I pass by on my way home, that's why I keep giving it a shot. But I'm finished until something is done about this. read more

The only person who seems to care is the manager. I feel sorry for him. He is a hard worker and very nice. unfortunately the rest of the team doesn't care Last night we had to wait to be seated more than ten minutes (We were the only ones waiting to be seated and the restaurant was 3/4 empty). After seating, we waited 10 more minutes for the server to come to our table (The manager told him to). He took our drinks order an said he would be right back to take the food order. He was serving 2 more tables with two people on each one..Ten more minutes passed and we didn't even had water on our table and not food order taken. We all were looking at him. He walked very slowly, decided to clean tables and do other things. We waited 5 more minutes and decided to leave. I complaint to the manager and he apologized. My personal opinion in regards to this particular server is that: either he thought we would not tip him good because 3 of us (we were 6) ordered water to drink. Or he is racist because we are proud latin/American citizens. I don't care that's his problem. We ended up going to the Mall of Georgia location. Had the best server ever. Spent 40 bucks and left him a $20 tip. read more

This review is for breakfast only. This is the second week my fiancé and I have gone to this location. Last week, we went for the first time for breakfast. At the time, the only servers working were a husband and wife team. After being seated, The lady got our drinks and took our order. We decided to share a skillet breakfast, because of its size, while my fiancé ordered all you can eat pancakes. After waiting for a while, we received our food. Our skillet breakfast came to us divided onto two plates. We didn't ask for this, but whatever. The food was good, but when we needed a refill, we had to flag down the waitress, because at that time, a larger party had come in, so at this point, we didn't exist. Once we were able to get our coffee refills, we had to flag down her husband to get coffee creamer. We finished our food, left a tip, and left. Which brings us to today, we decided to give it another try. We walked in this morning, and the same husband and wife team were working. The man sat us in his section, and immediately took our drink orders. Then we decided on breakfast... I ordered the skillet breakfast, while my fiancé decided on all you can eat pancakes, with a side of hashbrowns. Our server was very nice, and polite, and stayed on top of refilling our drinks. The problem came when our food did. The lady from last week was the one to bring our food out. Everything looked great, but when we asked for another plate.. it was immediately followed with a "you aren't planning on sharing the all you can eats are you?" I said to her no, we were sharing the skillet breakfast. Her response to me was " Because I got in trouble for doing that last week, my boss yelled at me, and I don't want to get yelled at again.. Its not like we both went in there trying to share a $4 breakfast. We both ordered entrees, and my fiancé ordered a side of hashbrowns. Well after a good 3 minutes or so of hearing her argue with my fiancé, we decided to get up and leave. I work in the food industry, and I have never seen or heard anyone treat a customer the way she did to us. We most definitely will not be going back, and someone needs to be educated on dealing with customers with a little more class. read more

Literally THE WORST experience I have EVER had at a restaurant in my life. I came in last night.. About midnight.. Took 20 minutes just to get seated. I will give them the benefit that they were a little busy but not nearly busy enough for what I experienced here. I've been on the industry for about 7 years so I know how things go and there was no excuse for the service here. We waiting almost AN HOUR just to get greeted at our table. We watched other tables get taken care of that came in way after us!! I had to go up to a manager to finally get someone to come over to us.. This was ridiculous. So we ordered and it took over an hour just to receive our food. We watched four tables walk out between this time... Which we almost did. We did not receive our milkshakes EVER but we watched plenty of other people get theirs. I asked for honey mustard when I got my food and no one ever came back to our table even once.. Our server only came to take our order, some other girl dropped off the food and we never got checked on after that.. We watched other tables get sat and wait about 30 min while the employees are just chopping it up with each other, like this was a good time to goof around.... I could not fathom this experience we had last night... Literally the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant... Will never return to this place again.
