There are few times when I order from Steak N Shake and all of my food is in the bag when I go through the Drive thru. I just bought 4 garlic butter burgers, a 4 for 4 meal, and a shake. However when I got home one of the burgers was wrong, and I never got my chicken fingers from the 4/4 meal. It's honestly terrible when you come home and give everyone their food to find one burger incorrect and one meal completely missing. This isn't the first time this has happened, so usually I check my bag before I leave the parking lot but I was in a rush to get home and hoped they would've at least given me all of my food. read more

INCREDIBLE SERVICE! I had to drive to TWO restaurants, as my brother was craving a Frisco, and the first Steak 'n Shake I went to refused to complete our order as they were 30 min to close and were short staffed. I then found this one on the map. Even though they had just closed, the owner personally allowed me to place an order last minute and the courteous staff accommodated my last minute need. Me and a friend came in around 5:30 on a Sunday so of course it was not busy by any means. It took a while to have our order taken and then another 20 minutes to just get us some water. That's ridiculous. I ordered a chicken melt and the new Cajun fries (for .29 extra which is fine) and once I got my food I realized "Cajun fries" just means that they sprinkled the seasoning that's already on my table on top of the fries. Where do I start? The waitress didn't even come all the way up to the door to greet us. Without a smile we were asked, "how many?" We sat for a solid 5 minutes before being serviced. Fries were cold, chili was like warm, onions were so old they were soggy, table was dirty, tabletops stained, and when cashed out by the manager I wasn't even asked if my meal was okay or if I needed anything else. This review is coming from a former employee of Steak n Shake for 5 years. For those that say it's SnS what do I expect well I can say a whole lot more because I certainly provided much better service and quality than last night back in the day. Corporate needs to read this and get on it. Plenty of other choices in town to choice from. Fix your fundamentals before you lose even more patrons. read more

WORST DRIVE THRU EXPERIENCE EVER! I waited 15 minuets at 3:45pm on a rainy Saturday afternoon for a shake. When I arrived at the window with money in hand ready to pay the "customer service" person was tying to hand my my drink instead. Ok, - I set my money down and the drink is being handed over in such a way that i have to grab near the top. The top is poorly designed and loose and pops off causing the first half in of the shake to go all over my hands and steering wheel. Shake is all over my hands and the wheel and she disappears and returns with a few napkins. I am trying to figure out a way to pay and just GET OUT of there, and I finally maneuvers the mess so that I can exchange the money. A different person now arrives at the window and in a short tone is trying to get my money. No mind, you I have yet to say a word and while I may not have had the most cheerful expression my demeanor in no way was indicative of the frustration I was feeling. I asked for a water (to help clean the mess that a handful of napkins was not going to solve. The testy woman retrieved one and handed to me with a straw as though oblivious to the shake spatter about my shirt and steering wheel. I pull forward and as I deplete my stash of emergency napkins trying to clean up enough to drive away I'm thinking WHY- Why didn't they take my money first, no wonder the drive through took so long. Why didn't they take the cup back and transfer the shake in to a clean container? Why didn't they even apologize? Add, EWWWW -Why is there a dirty piece of cardboard in my water cup. I am so glad that I wasn't drinking it. They did when I ordered and had been waiting forever for no good reason. After about a mile down the road, I decided why not try the $4 mistake and I reached down at the middle of the cup, but before I could get the straw to my lips; the top popped off again and it caused me to hit the center console with the cup which toppled onto the floor mat of the passengers side. I had to stop at a gas station and in the rain scrape the floor mat into a dumpster. With no hose in sight I used the rest of the water rinse my hands and drove to work. I am still going to have to deal with the floor mat sooner or later. I know that my pain might amuse, I know that if I read this and it did not happen to me I would smile. But most importantly I hope it will encourage you to TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. There are literally dozens of places within 2-3 minutes of this location to get nearly anything that they might offer. It is NOT worth it. If you do go and get burned, do not say you were not warned. read more

Horrible service this morning. I was the only person there and had called in a to go order. They hadn't even started it when I arrived 15 minutes later when they had told me it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. There was trash littering the dining area and there was a large pile of trash in the kitchen area that they were just stepping over. Three employees working, empty restaurant, and yet it looked like that! They messed up the order a few times. I asked for no pico and no bread and yet, they wanted to give both. Then the cook tried to give me the CALIFORNIA skillet without avocado. No one spoke when I entered and there was no real apology for all the mistakes either. Nasty! The condiment bottles were slick with oil. Ketchup bottles were awful. Burger was decent but fries were cooked twice so they were overcooked. Grill cook kept burgers holding without orders. Attendant on speaker said they did not make kid size shakes, only one size. I asked since when since I ordered one two days ago on the app for my elderly mother. She said as of TONIGHT the store owner had discontinued kids shakes, but I could get one if I ordered a kids meal and upgraded the drink. I opened my app and was able to add to cart so asked if I should pull around, order on the app to get it. She said even if I paid they would REFUSE TO MAKE IT. What in the world?! She is obviously lying and the kitchen is just being lazy. This location has gone really down hill since the new owner took over maybe two years ago. Pre-COVID my elderly mother sent her chili back because it was obviously watered down, we've been eating that for years and know it's texture. He refused to take it off the check even though she didn't eat a bite. We order for week here every once and awhile and our order is always messed up. Last time we had no fries on our four meals when we got the bags back to work. Don't go to this location. The absolute worst experience I have ever had. When I pulled up to order after a little wait, we were reading the menu. The lady comes on the speaker and speaks really fast and I couldn't understand her. I simply said, "Give us a second please". About 15 seconds goes by and she comes back and says "you need to hurry up and order before we close". I looked at my wife and said "okay, then I'll have 2 number 17s. She then tries to rush me before I could explain our order. I said "slow down so I can tell you how I'd like our order". She does and we order. This is at 12:38am March 11th. We talked as we waited another 10 mins about how we didn't like to be spoken too that way, but oh well. We get our food and we don't have our cookies and coleslaw x 2. I ask for the missing food and she tells me I didn't ask for a pick 4 order...which is at the top of the menu as a number 17...which we ordered. I said its on the menu and part of the number 17 deal. She the. Tells me other people don't order that. I said I'm not other people and I want what I paid for. She says they don't have cookies and zero willingness to help or anything. I asked for my money back and she snarled at us. I asked for a manager and she said she was the manager. I replied theirs no way you're a manger treating people like this. Then she says "give me the food" with a horrible attitude and extremely mean body language. This woman needs to be relieved of her customer service position ASAP. She could have offered a small fry, a discount, or any compensation for the missing items and we would have taken it. She could have explained if their was an issue and we would have understood. We are reasonable people that were dealing with an unreasonable person. This is unacceptable service, not to mention advertisement fraud. We'll be making a phone call during appropriate hours. But just like the last 2 times, after driving 15 minutes away with someone "confirming" our order, my wife was told "there is no to go order." I went thru the drive thru and ordered 4 burgers. Pulled over and waited 20 mins. They brought out 3 burgers. Went back in and said I was short a burger, the cook yelled out I put everything in the bag. Looked at Richard, the manager, and said that "I'm not making it up". He looks at the receipt and said there are only 3 burgers on it and tosses it back on the counter. I said ok I'll run to my car and get my wallet. Came back in and said which one are you missing, after I had previously told him what my order was. I said I don't know I didn't open them. So I pick up the receipt trying to read them then say I don't have my glasses... he just stands there, so I say I will just take a refund, mind you I already was there for 20 minutes. Then Robert says we don't do cash refunds, company policy. And I said I just paid, he repeated sorry company policy. so I just walked out and left the food. Then I walked back in to get the receipt so I would have the information. I paid $17.45 for a kit kat shake. Can't even put in words the disappointment! ZERO STARS Lawrenceville Suwannee location First off I want to say that I LOVE Steak and Shake. It is, without a doubt, my favorite hamburger joint. With that said, I will do without, rather than ever return to this restaurant. I went today at 4:10 in the afternoon, a Tuesday, with two of my grandchildren. When we arrived there were only 2-3 other tables sat in the entire store. We were the only ones to arrive when we did and no one else arrived for about 15 more minutes. We were sat in a booth right under the server's station where everyone gathers. We sat, and we sat and we sat. I finally looked at my grandchildren and said in a voice loud enough to be heard by the people right above me, which included what I assumed to be the manager - " I wish I was a secret shopper for steak and shake because then I would be timing how long it is taking for us to just be greeted". We were still ignored. We were passed by every server. After about 15 minutes, a couple of other parties came in and were seated. So I looked at my grandchildren and told them if someone did not come to our table soon, we were leaving - again saying it loud enough to be heard by the employees standing right above me which still included the manager. Still nothing! About 5 more minutes passed, and then I saw a server approach a table that had just been sat! I said, "Come on, let's go." We stood up - right in front of the employees and manager and proceeded to walk out. I turned to look and they were just watching us leave - no apology or anything.
