I keep thinking "maybe this time it will be better" but it never is. The last burger I got was sooooo greasy, it was the double n cheese. I didn't finish it by worry of gagging and threw the rest away. I tried something new by getting the parmesan garlic fries, but they were dry and didn't have much flavor. The milkshakes I have gotten from this location have been pretty good, with the exception of the glob of chocolate syrup or caramel on the bottom. This time I tried the new s'mores milkshake. It was surprisingly good and tasted like s'mores. It even had little chunks of graham cracker that were the right size to fit through the straw without a problem. Zach (I assume he is a manager and if he isn't then that's a very poor decision on this Steak N' Shake's management team) was extremely professional, courteous and funny. All this occurred during a drive through food order. Yeah...Drive through, the least opportune time to make an impression on your customers and Zach made one hell of an impression. I have been to steak and shake too many times to count and tonight I decided to use their drive-through. I figured it would be a long wait like they're usually is inside of which there was, and I asked for a triple steak burger with all the toppings that come on it and onion rings. I got the onion rings and a steak burger but there was literally nothing on the burger. Steak and Shake is always reliable for us. It's your basic diner fare--burgers, shakes and the like. they always have new menu items and innovative twists on old favorites. For example, I recently had a fried egg burger here. Great chili as well--try it deluxe with cheese and raw onion, mmm. Service is really good at this location, especially at night. The server is the cashier, shake maker and buser, so do appreciate and be patient. sometimes it gets backed up! For two people we usually spend $20 for 2 meals with fries, chili, drinks and the tip. It's not gourmet but it isn't bad either. Sometimes you just want a grease burger. read more

This Steak N Shake is right by our house so conscience is the main reason we go here. Reminds me of a 50's style diner. Clean, bright, friendly staff, and service is fast and good. The food is good, it's greasy; which is really my only complaint about it. All the food is made fresh to order so no heat lamp burgers. My favorite is the vanilla coke, extra vanilla!'n. YUM! They serve shoe-strong fries which are sooooo good. We always get cheese sauce on the side. Again YUM! The specialty shakes of the month are super good and the regular flavors of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate are good too. The breakfast they serve are surprisingly tasty. I alway question burger/lunch/dinner places who decide to add breakfast to their menus. However, they have done a good job, still too greasy but for a once in a while treat it's worth it. This place is honestly hit or miss on food and service. If you got a good server and chef, everything will come out fresh and happy. Most of the time though you get servers who ignore you or leave your food sitting there because they are too busy chatting with other people. Or most of the time your cook will give you frozen chili or stale fries even cooking with no gloves on. Stay away if possible. read more

Steak N Shake. To be honest, from the outside it may look like a low rent cheap place, but it's so simple, very low priced, and most of all delicious. Fresco Melt= YUM YUM! Let me tell you, I have been to steak n shakes all across the state of Florida and I always know what to expect.. a long wait, a great happy hour shake, a semi-awesome burger, and nasty tasteless fries (that I still devour). The service was good. I went to the bathroom, came out, & my food was waiting on me this time. The team was friendly and efficient. I made a few modifications to my simple burger so when I got to the car I made sure everything was to my liking. While I sat there I figured, what the heck! ... I may as well devour these nasty fries now. But NO! They were crispy and fresh with potatoes in the middle finally lol. I snuck a bite of my burger while I was at it before I hit the road too. I kept telling myself just this last bite until all I had left was ketchup on my skirt. Needless to say, I was ashamed of myself. I had zero control! Such a classless act! I come for the cheap meal, I've only ever had one good server. It takes about 30 minutes to get your food. They are very understaffed. I see the staff as I'm eating and they are literally sitting around or taking NAPS instead of cleaning and making their business better. read more

I used to love Steak and Shake for the old timey- diner atmosphere and their good food. this particular restaurant is not worth visiting at all. I recently went with my girlfriend for a quick bite and a shake after. Walking in we noticed that there were four tables with customers at them, three clean tables, and the rest were covered in garbage. the servers were all young women, grouped behind the cash register laughing. We finally were seated and we ordered our food. It was disgusting, just burnt buttery mess. My girlfriend ordered a salad of some sort which was revolting to say the least. We decided to just get our shakes. however, nobody came to ask us if we needed anything and by the time they did we asked for the check and promptly went across the street for Dairy Queen. I would recommend DQ over anything you could buy from this restaurant. If they would discipline their staff, or maybe hire people with more experience or work ethnic, this place could be better. right now I don't even want to think about their greasy food or watery milkshakes read more

I give this particular location less than 5 stars for two reasons... I ordered a cherry limeade, and got the drink with sticky cherry syrup all over the side of the glass, and our table had no ketchup and the one we "borrowed" from another table was pretty much empty. It's sad. I first visited a Steak & Shake when visiting Grapevine in Texas and LOVED IT. Great service, great food and you guessed it...the best shakes. However, the service at this location was the worst I have ever experienced at a Steak & Shake. My partner asked for a little more chili on his pasta because it literally was just a bowl of pasta with enough sauce to give it color. Seriously, when he stirred it there was no sauce in the bowl. It just made a sticky nasty kinda sound. When the waitress asked the cook for more chili he took a spoon and dug around for a pebble of meat and put it in a bowl she asked him to put it in. When she asked him to be serious he argued the plate had chili on it. He finally gave in and gave her a small spoonful and told her to charge us for a side of chili. When we went to check out they overcharged us but not on the chili, something else. When I asked the manager to correct she rolled her eyes like a child. That's OK. Prices are very reasonable and to my surprise the food wasn't that bad. The cleanliness of this establishment is what prompted this review. Our waitress wiped of our table with a dry napkin, pushing anything from the table onto the seats. When we asked if she could wipe down the table, she came back with a wet napkin that spread the dried ketchup around even more, but never actually cleaned the table. Usually come in late at night anywhere between 11pm-2am with coworkers when we all get off. Staff is always very friendly and talkative, and food is really great. Milkshakes are the best thing about this place since it's open 24/7 you can always come here and grab a shake when you are in the mood. read more
