This is the BEST Steak n'Shake that I've been too! It was easy to order with the kiosks. The food came out in a timely manner and was exactly what I ordered. Shout out to Asia for excellent customer service! I dined in with a large group and she was super helpful! She even gave the kids a Steak n'Shake car and stickers. OOOPPPSSS! when placing an online order at the end of the completion and I hit the submit button, it said oops, something wrong has happened. I was in the parking lot of steak and shake, so I went ahead and went inside to order from a human being at that point. I seen that the oops transaction I had been charged to my Cash App to the tune of $22 being that I was starved. And my family was sitting home. Waiting for me after I got off work. I went ahead and redid the order after the manager. Assured me that it would be back on my Cash App. The next day well, it wasn't back on my Cash App. And it was completed along with the order that I had ordered inside. I was given a phone number the night of the transaction. It was to the app. That is part of stake and shake, but the manager said they have nothing to do with the app and to call the number and tell them what happened when I call the number. It was a recording saying that number was out of service. I went up there today and was told to come back at 5 and speak to the district manager. And then I was told to come back at 7 and speak to the district manager. He never showed up, but I did get a manager who said that the app has a problem with the oops message. And everyone has it same thing. I heard last night from the other manager. I at least was given a Coke while I waited 45 minutes only for her to come back and tell me is between me and Cash App. Cash app said they can't help me without proof I guess I should have taken a picture of the stake and shake logo on their app.That they have nothing to do with when it said oops, there's been an error. Every time I go to this particular steak in shake, I have a problem whether it's missing a burger or soggy French fries. I like steak and shake food. That's why I've been going to a different location and skipping the Riverview location. Now, I think I will skip steak and shake all together and start frequenting 5 guys. If you want to eat a burger from there, just don't use their app.Because you will be ripped off and they will claim they can't help you in any way shape or form. read more

The restaurant was clean and had an overall good energy. The food was good, and came out quick. We also didn't have to pick it up at the pick up counter--before our names were even called, one of the workers, Lo, brought our food to us. They were incredibly kind, and checked a little later to make sure everything was good. Both Lo and one of the cooks told us thank you and have a good day when we were leaving. This all seems small, but had a big impact on the experience. My sister and I have been going to Steak 'n Shake (in general) for years, and we both agree that this was the best experience we've had since the changes made during covid. read more

I've been here three times in the past couple weeks! My fries were always nice and hot! I did get some potato hash browns on one of the trips that were a bit too oily and undercooked though. Drivethru was always pretty fast too! Prices are reasonable and options comparable to Culver's I would say. I'm just there for the French fries lol! read more

I MISS the old Steak & Shakes. They had servers. You could watch them make the burgers right in front of you by the counter. When they used to say, "In sight it must be right," they weren't kidding. I loved their shakes and also their flavored Cokes like Cherry and Vanilla. Many of the locations were open 24/7 which was a big help to me because I often worked nights. I lived in FL for several years so that's where I patronized them. I moved away in 2010 and there are no S&S in the region I live in. Went back to visit last week and was disappointed at what I found. They no longer have servers. They have gone to a QSR mode, and installed kiosks where you order. They give you a code to scan to get your drinks. ALL they do is call out your number or name, when your order is ready. Basically it's nothing more than a fancier McDonalds. But even McDonald's let's you order and pay at the counter IF you want to. That is not an option here. When we were there, we were ordering at a kiosk. We were the only ones in the line at that moment. Then an impatient man stood behind us, and was upset that we were using the Cash/Credit Card Kiosk instead of the one that was Credit Card Only. He had wanted to pay in cash and was clearly annoyed that we were holding him up. After looking at the menu, I saw that some items were no longer available. I also learned that most (if any) do not stay open 24 hours anymore. The food was OK, nothing special. I didn't bother with a milk shake. The restaurant was clean. I don't care for this new business model and I won't be going back. My new FL go to is Culver's. You order and pay at the counter and the staff are very happy to answer any questions you may have. My wife and I tried this Steak and Shake looking for a nice restaurant style lunch. The kiosk ordering style quickly removed the server from the restaurant experience. The kiosk malfunctioned and wouldn't provide a receipt and the person wouldn't get us one either. We asked for it 3 times. We heard names called for people to get their order, even some who ordered after as. Finally, we get our lunch. The fries bland. The onion rings were greasy with a foul taste. Both double burgers tasted dry and almost burnt. You had a choice of condiments but it's however they choose to put it on. If we'd wanted a fast food experience, we'd have gone to McDonald's. read more

The workers don't listen and act stupid. We came by after a long busy day and were hungry. We ordered a #7 with a large cheese fry and a Dr Pepper and then #8 with a large cheese fry and Dr Pepper. We got both drinks. We got home and there was only one burger, a small fry and a large fry and one cheese sauce. My husband went back up there and they were looking at him all stupid. My husband and I came here for lunch yesterday and had a great lunch. We both ordered the single cheeseburger combo with fries. Although the burger was not large it was cooked perfectly and the toppings we chose were all there, including grilled onions. The fries were thin and crispy. This restaurant was recently sold to the former GM and she had made wonderful changes for the better. Location. The location is clean and I do still enjoy the old dinner atmosphere. The tables were clean when I was there and the staff were very friendly. The food was decent. Nothing was wrong. But yet nothing was great. Stake n shake as a whole: It's just another fast food joint now. The self serve pick up order is great if everyone was a Highschool kid looking for a place to hang. But other than that it's just a lame system. The memories I have coming to stake n shake with my friends and siblings and talking and laughing with the servers feel distant and now with the new system it feels like a little part of life is now gone that I won't be able to share with my younger sibling. Ordered a simple chocolate shake and fries with cheese sauce. The milk shake was SO gritty, like it had powder in it. And they gave me enough cheese for like 5 fries. You could see the bottom of the cup through the small amount of cheese (that they charge you extra for). So when I was in high school my friends and I went to steak and shake all the time as there was one across the street from my school. I hadn't been in years but tonight we were at Home Depot and decided to stop by for some dinner. We ordered chicken fingers for myself and my kids, ages 1.5 and 6. They came out minutes after we ordered...when we started tearing the strips up to give our toddler my husband saw the chicken was completely raw in the middle so glad we realized before we gave it to our baby girl. The manager came out to our table and admitted it wasn't right that we were served this food and stated their fryers are on a timer so the cook must have made a mistake. EXTREMELY slow service. It took 30 minutes before even getting my milkshake. I have no idea how this streak and shake can even have a drive through at this slow pace. When we sat down about half of the tables were full so they were not packed. All of the staff seemed to be working inefficiently with no sense of urgency to wait in their customers. I watched as they stood in the corner over and over talking to each other. A dinner for 5 taking and hour and a half is ridiculous when it is at a steak and shake. We came for a quick dinner after shopping but instead we sat hungry and waiting. I wish I could say the food made up for the wait when it finally arrived but sadly it did not. This is the worst restaurant I have ever been too. The server was rude and rushing us to order place the order. The table was dirty that they set us at. The milk shake was warm. My husband said that one of the employees went to the bathroom and came out without washing their hands. My husband got food poisoning from that restaurant and the best part was the bathrooma were disgusting and I saw two cockroaches in the lady's bathroom. Two stars because the food is consistently good across all stores in the area, but this branch has some unique challenges. The drive-thru workers always have an attitude like they're annoyed that a customer pulled up to the speaker. Without fail, my order is always repeated back to me incorrectly. Correcting that mistake leads to more attitude and apparently confusion since the order I receive is usually wrong as well. It's a shame because this branch location is more convenient for me, but I'll be going out of my way to another one from now on. Hopefully the existing staff can work out the issues. read more
