I enjoy steak and shake, but this location is a bit lacking. It took a while to be acknowledged when we came in and the place wasn't busy. Our order was wrong and food was cold. The condiment containers were sticky and dirty as well. The sink in the women's bathroom only has one temperature HOT!!! I'm unsure what the root problem was. Unbelievable experience - waitress took the order and immediately quit her job and walked out the door. The poor manager had to take all table orders and handle the management of the restaurant. The name of the (ex)waitress was Jan. The food wasn't bad for a quick food restaurant. My compliments to the woman manager who handled the situation with grace and courtesy. The poor manager stated that around tax time some of the staff feel on receiving tax refunds feel like they're millionaires and immediately quit their positions. Terrible service. I have been going to Steak N' Shake after work for about 4-5yrs with no problems, until recently. The new dinner/evening staff they have working drive thru is awful. The past few weeks I have not once had an order right. I have had my order repeated back to me and still received the wrong order. I would no longer recommend Steak N' Shake to a friend. Very sad. This bitch claims to be 24 hours but I went there twice at 12 am in one week and "their dining room was closed" when they had at least 4 tables already inside. Very slow with to go orders.. Waited 20+ minutes for a three different people to ask what I was waiting on, the a worker finally asked me what the order was that was placed to go before making an effort to get the food out. I had to read off everything ordered to them again for a DoorDash order too after waiting some time. Then, they still forgot two orders of fries that I had to wait additional time for. Also, it was at a time when it was not busy in this location and there were plenty of people behind the area working. Shakes are about he best thing to get. Burgers are average at best. Fries not bad. Ordered the seasoned fries (Parm cheese and herbs), obsoletely horrible. Okay so the food here is what it is nothing special just okay sit down dining. Today was no exception. The food was average as it usually is. What made today especially bad was the cleanliness of the restrooms. The men's room was especially disgusting. I won't go into the detail but after visiting it I could hardly eat my meal. Bad food, under staffed, and lack of management. Went here with the family for a late lunch on Saturday. The restaurant was packed and many tables had not received their food. The waitress was motivated and attentive, but clearly she needed help. My wife commented on how she had to bounce around the entire restaurant assisting tables. There were numerous staff members in the back, but they were not helping the poor waitress at the front. More and more patrons came in and were told to wait when clearly they were not going to be seated anytime soon. Our food took 45 min and was over cooked and tasteless. I would avoid this joint at all costs until they get someone in there that can run it efficiently. read more

I waited 15minutes at the microphone to order because the young man asked me to hang on. I finally called inside and the "manager" asked me to pull up to the window. Said he was sorry, gave me a discount, I proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for the worst food I have ever had. The fries were stone cold, the Oreo milkshake was melted and mostly whipped cream. And the burgers were lukewarm at best! What were they doing while I was waiting all that time. I did love Steak and Shake. Did being the operative word. Sadly, I won't be returning to this location. I love the shakes and the food, but the service at this location is a shame. This is the second time I have waited at the drive thru, to actually walk in the restaurant, to leaving before my order was taken. The drive thru had three cars in front of me before I walked inside, the line never moved...someone drove off. So we went inside and waited 9 more minutes for someone to take our order. There were 4 tables with people sitting at them. Ridiculous. I can't imagine a franchise that can stay in business with this level of service. I hope they can figure out their issues. read more

This place needs a lot of tweaking within the business. First off, many of the employees have the worst attitude. Second, they take forever to put some of the most simple orders together. And lastly, they have a cleanliness issue which is what has led me to writing this review. Last night my husband and I decided to get milkshakes and we wanted to check this restaurant out. We sat at the drive through menu for about 5 minutes before they took our order. The lady taking our order was so unwelcoming and rude. We should have just left. I ordered a Turtle Caramel Nut shake and my husband got a Butterfinger shake. When we pulled up to pay, we paid,and they made us pull up to wait. We waited over 10 minutes for 2 milkshakes. When the drive through lady came to our car she handed us our milkshakes that were covered in ice cream on the outside of the cups, just globs of ice cream running down the cups. My husband said thank you, being polite and she just walked off. We clean our cups and leave. I noticed that the ingredients that were supposed to be in our milkshakes weren't even in there. We ate it anyways. Two hours later I was hit with some serious sickness and 12 hours later still really bad off. I don't know if things were just dirty or not properly stored, but something was wrong. Please do yourself a favor and skip this place unless you like food poisoning. Oh maw gawd... this place is just NO. The service was ridiculously bad and the burger was a damn joke. I asked for unsweetened tea and I get sweet... I worried about the guy with me who was diabetic and told him "you'd better check that soda"... The burger patties are hammered down so much there isn't even a patty left. I know it never looks like the photo, but damn! How in the hell can it be worse than a McDonalds? That's really sad right there. Decided to stop here on our way to Florida from Ohio. Service here was below average. I ordered burgers with no onions and got them with onions. It wasn't the grill's fault, wasn't put on the ticket right, so had to wait to eat. My wife ordered a grilled cheese, her cheese wasn't even close to melted. We needed silverware, and the waitress was in such a hurry she just put drinks at the table and didn't ask. Steak 'n' Shake has become my new favorite fast food restaurant! The prices are so cheap, you can get two meals for the price of one at other fast food establishments. Plus, they treat you like a real restaurant when you dine in by seating you and servers wait on you. I have yet to have a bad experience there and the food is really good. When every meal is less than 4 dollars and it's good food, you have my attention. Families that have children have to love feeding their families here because it does not put them in the poor house. Overall the food was good. Burger wasn't over seasoned , very moist, toppings good and bun toasted on the edges but still nice soft & buttery! Fries hot & crispy yay! Now the down side it's open 24 hrs and it wasn't busy when we got there but we seen tables that needed wiping down, seen trash under the grill, long wait for food and seen part of our food in the window like it done but wasn't brought to us. Ok now our waitress was ok but she seemed like was rushing but again no one was in there like that. Today was by far the worst service we have received at this location. We generally visit here about 1-2 times a month. Today it was a rather busy day and we had a small wait before being seated. However, several servers acknowledged us and let us know someone would be with us. That was great! There were a couple of empty tables but they needed to be cleaned and no one seemed interested in clearing them quickly. That was okay as they were very busy. We were seated and it took the waitress a few minutes to get to us. She was not that attentive when we were ordering but again not a problem. My husband ordered a salad, and our children ordered kid's shakes in addition to meals. Drinks came promptly. It took a little while to get the kid's shakes and when she finally brought them, she informed us someone else would be taking over since her shift was over. Fair enough. She never told us who would be our server. We didn't see anyone at our table until our food was brought to us. I saw it ready in the window for a little bit as we were sitting right there but it seemed like no one wanted to pick it up. When someone did bring us our meals, my husband asked the person for his salad and dressing. The person seemed frazzled but went to get the salad. It took a few minutes and she came back with it with no dressing. He let her know he wanted dressing and she said, "You wanted a side order coleslaw?" He said no, just the dressing. I saw her walk up to the window and ask for a side order of coleslaw. I have no idea why she asked for that when just seconds before he said no. In addition, we asked for water for our children twice. When she did bring them, she seemed confused like she wasn't sure why she was there with the water. We waited and waited for the dressing. Finally after watching the other person who was supposed to get the dressing do other things, I flagged down another server and asked for the dressing. We finally got it. Throughout the whole meal, no one came to refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything. It was so bad that we did not leave a tip. We don't normally do this but it was plain terrible. Even when my husband paid, the manager never asked him how everything was. At the end, the servers who briefly helped our table asked me on separate occasions if I needed something or if I was okay but they could see I was visibly unhappy. I understand tips are part of someone's wage but I'm sorry there has to be some kind of service. This was so bad that I'm sure we will not visit this location in the future. Bus boy stood in corner pacing around. Others came in...crowd forming. A party of 2 came in with a small baby. Greeter recognized them and called them by name and seated immediately. We were told they would need to clear table since seven of us. After another three minutes had not yet begun to clear table with obvious bus guy still having not touched a dish. Suprisingly good. I'm not sure what I really expected but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Steak n Shake. The service was prompt and attentive and the burger was really good. I had the Prime Steak burger and it was as good or better than burgers at some other chains (Chili's beware). I added bacon because...why not? Passing thorough the area my family and we decided to stop here for a late dinner. Being a server myself I automatically noticed how only 3 servers were running their own food, taking orders, bussing tables, and seating people as the line almost stopped at the door.
