The porterhouse was delicious and big enough to share. The wine list was impressive, but the service felt a little rushed. Still, I'd definitely come back for the food.

Everything single item on this menu is divine, staff are knowledgeable and thoughtful, and the atmosphere is the perfect combination of class and comfort. My husband and I ordered everything, and loved every bit of it. Blue cheese salad * Jewish artichokes (lemon aoli is phenom) * Breadsong bread with herbed butter * Wagyu filet mignon * Cowgirl rib-eye * Japanese sauce flight * Brussels sprouts & Wild mushrooms * Duck fat fries * Sticky toffee pudding. Cocktails and the wine list are on point too This is THE local date spot and my husband and I can't wait to return.

I am a sucker for their way Waugh beef sandwich. The beef is paper thin. It's served on an warmed artisan bread. Made to order. A lovely wine selection by the glass. Locally owned and operated.

Another great dinner here. Got a salad and shared a steak with mushrooms and fries. Brussel sprouts, bread and the classic flight of sauces. And a Malbec as well. Steaks take 30+ minutes to prepare to plan ahead but it's worth it

For a casual steakhouse I was very much impressed. Daniella was an amazing server, she was very good at keeping us updated about our steaks during the cooking process and recommended a good Pinot that went well with my steak according to my taste. The steaks were cooked perfectly to how we wanted them, my girlfriend was even able to get hers medium rare plus so it was a pleasant center temperature between medium and medium rare. Be ready to wait sometime for your steak as they give them time to rise to temp and rest, but do order some of the appetizers to help mend the time. The steaks are worth the wait and I didn't want to stop eating it when they did arrive. I would definitely recommend coming to this place as it's very casual but still that fine dining feeling.

Steakcraft is a gem of a steakhouse, and there's nothing else like it in Carmel. It mostly does one thing, and it does it REALLY WELL! Beef lovers, this is your mecca! To start, Steakcraft has incredible cocktails and I can not recommend them enough! Some are classic drinks done just right. Others are interesting and inventive. All were absolutely delicious. Our table of four ordered 5 or 6 different drinks between us and everyone raved about them. Next we got all three salads - the Caesar, Avocado Greens, and Butter Lettuce Blue. Between the goat cheese, micro greens, avocado, and Marcona almonds, the Avocado Greens was my favorite. The Butter Lettuce Blue was awesome too with generous amounts of bacon. The Caesar was fine, but was maybe a little underdressed for my taste and I felt the croutons were too hard (kudos for making them in house though). For sides we ordered the Brown Butter Creamed Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts and Bacon, and Duck Fat Fries (these come with the steaks). The creamed cauliflower was unbelievably creamy and tasty and we all agreed we'd order it again. The Brussel Sprouts were great too, cooked well and accompanied by plenty of bacon. The duck fat fries are also awesome (I'd tried these before when having lunch at Breadsong). I strongly believe duck fat is superior to vegetable oils for both taste and health. Finally - the beef! We got a Full Wagyu Ribeye to share and a Wagyu Denver Steak (which we also shared). The steaks were just awesome - so full of flavor, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and completely unlike ordinary beef. The Ribeye was cooked perfectly and the table made short work of it. The Denver seemed underdone at first, but we had them toss it back on for another minute and this made a huge difference. I would recommend getting the Denver cooked fairly well. Everyone likes their steak cooked differently, but it really transformed from chewy to perfect once it had another minute on the grill. It's well-marbled and the flavor and texture both really benefit from a little more cook time. The desserts were fantastic and included the best cannoli I've ever had. The service was great. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. There are a few little tweaks that could be made to the table-setting - The silverware and table linens are presented in a little wooden caddy which is nice, but we needed to ask for them to be removed once the food arrived because they take up a lot of table space. We also weren't given steak knives, although with this caliber of beef they're hardly necessary anyway, haha! I'm sure these small things will quickly be ironed out since we dined on one of the very first opening nights. The restaurant has very nice decor and a comfortable upscale ambience. The seating is comfortable and it's not too loud. Steakcraft is well worth a visit for its world-class steaks, delicious craft cocktails, and variety of delectable salads and sides. Dining here is an experience - don't miss it!

I had the best steak of my life here! The chefs absolutely know what they're doing and the waitstaff are on their game! I was served by a handsome young man named Svenn who was attentive and charming. 11/10

Exceptionally good food, beautiful ambience, great location! Nothing like this place exists around here, a fine dinning asset to our community! Unbelievably delicious steak, and the barata cheese was fantastic too! Beautiful drinks, and the decor and table settings are really cool too!! Go check it out. Definitely recommend!?!

Parker (the owner) is the real deal--passionate, witty, sometimes sarcastic, and genuinely fun. The cozy bar is surrounded by ever-changing photos, art, and laugh-out-loud signage. Stories live here: wall to wall, corner to corner, and everywhere in between. Locals and travelers exchange stories, play dice or cards. The drinks are beautifully basic--three ingredients, one of them ice. No fancy nonsense--just premium pours, neat or on the rocks. *And now the gut punch: they're being forced to close the same month they're celebrating their 100-year anniversary. The new building owners don't seem to care about the character and legacy of Carmel, the devotion of a fourth-generation owner, or what it means to lose a place that's thrived for a century. Our waitress Rachel was great and took good care of us. We ordered the French dip (added Swiss, onions, and mushrooms) solid sandwich, though it could've used a touch more salt. The real star though, was the fish and chips. Genuinely some of the best I've ever had. Lightly battered, flaky, perfectly cooked. The fish and chips is the ultimate meal. The burger was savory, soft and creamy just he right amount. It perfectly paired with the Talbott pinot noir they recommended. The only comment is make is the amount of French fries that were served with the burger. The plate was a lot larger looking because a sparse amount of fries was served alongside. Maybe add a little more next time just to balance it off. The servers/bartenders knew their stuff. They provided what they could in terms of what was popular and well liked. They said both items we ordered were the most popular. The fish and chips have won best fish and chips 3 years in a row. I would agree with this since I usually am not wowed with this dish. I couldn't resist ordering a dessert. The applied tart with vanilla ice cream was so satisfying. Overall service, food quality and experience was very good. Nothing catastrophic happened, but it felt like we were inconveniencing staff rather than being welcomed. We experienced multiple instances where basic hospitality was lacking. At meals, we often had to ask for water, request the check, and follow up on things that should have been proactive. One evening we came downstairs for dinner around 8:25 PM and were told the kitchen stopped taking orders 30 minutes before the restaurant closed. While that's certainly their policy, it wasn't communicated beforehand and the interaction felt more dismissive than apologetic. There were several small moments like this throughout our stay. Individually they may seem minor, but together they created an atmosphere that felt awkward, rushed, and inattentive. Given Carmel's reputation for hospitality and the price point of the hotel, we expected a much warmer and more polished experience. The inn itself has a lot of charm, and we enjoyed the area, but the level of service simply didn't match the setting or our expectations.
