Very pricy but excellent food and service. Had a great time with my family. The inside is relaxed - no formal attire or golf attire required. TV's throughout the dining room made for a fun night eating and watching football with my family. We enjoyed their soup, chili, nachos, burgers, fish tacos, and lobster roll. I forgot to snap pics of all our food but I managed to get a couple. Bottom line is the food is great, the service is excellent. It is a bit pricy but we had a wonderful time. I made a one day online reservation for Sticks during the last week of December and it was a good thing as they were completely booked when we arrived at the restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday and was really important to get a table. We had a table near the window that looked out to some fire pits. The restaurant is more like a sports bar but has a separate dining room. The noise level was loud but I think timing is everything. As for my meal, I enjoyed an appetizer of Salmon Tartare, it came with crisp artisan bread; my entree was the Lobster Roll with a dipping sauce. Overall, the service was excellent and attentive. So we've done "pebble" a bit and love Roy's. So much so that we've done the drink at the fire pits and dinner at Roy's a few times over the years. My husband reserved a spot here for early dinner/ late happy hour with a sunset and bagpipes view. He nailed it honestly! The bagpiper starts his night here and played more than a few songs. Our view was amazing. And the outside area is protected from the sea breeze. Our drinks here were fantastic. The shared plates that we ordered were amazing. And I so appreciate our very patient server when we were both indecisive and juggling babies and a dog. His patience was not lost on me, as mom. We have been here a couple times and every time we have had a great experience! The location is absolutely stunning and they have a beautiful outdoor space with fireplaces overlooking the ocean and The Links at Spanish Bay. Inside is a nice cozy space with a brick fireplace, which makes it for a comfy place for dinner. The service and staff are wonderful and are very attentive. The drinks are tasty and the bartenders have a wonderful pour ratio, which is greatly appreciated. Whenever I visit my mother in Pebble Beach, we always try to stop into Sticks. It's a great sports bar with an amazing view of the water! Excellent meal at Sticks on Spanish Bay. We heard about their daily bagpiper show around 5pm (please check their website for more specific details) and wanted to experience that unique event. We sat outside and they turned one of the fire pits for us as soon as we sat. We got our drinks and delicious food. Their Sticks Burger was moist and well seasoned...just delicious and juicy..... The pasta dish and the tacos were also a hit....Excellent food and excellent service. We had gorgeous views of The Links at Spanish Bay and the Pacific Ocean. I would definitely come back... Perfect to view the bagpiper. My cousins and my husband and I started our visit to Carmel with dinner at Sticks. Zuri was our server and he was attentive and provided great service. We started out with cocktails (old fashioneds for the boys and dirty martinis for the girls) and shared a hummus plate. The hummus plate had carrot & cucumber sticks, blue cheese, warm olives, pita triangles and a bulb of roasted garlic. I would suggest more pita on the plate. My husband had the Sticks burger with maple-onion bacon jam and fries. It was a fantastic burger cooked perfectly to medium rare and full of flavor. I opted for the turkey burger with swiss cheese and cranberry sauce along with coleslaw. It was very good, so moist. It was Thanksgiving in a sandwich. We also went to Sticks to celebrate my cousin's birthday. The restaurant gave him a special dessert with a chocolate "happy birthday" written on the plate, which we all shared. That was so nice!! It is right on the golf course, so you may see golfers coming from their games or vic versa. They also have firepits with clear windows to sit, enjoy happy hour, and soak up the view.. Great spot for people watching, although it can get a little loud. There were a table of guys near me where one of them sounded like John Goodman and the other sounded like Joe Pesci! Came here to watch the game and have a Oceanview. They have four TV screens at the bar so you can watch the game and the ocean at the same time while having a glass of wine. We ate at Sticks twice during our work trip to Pebble Beach (11/13 & 11/15) once for dinner and once for lunch. I give the food mixed reviews. Let's start with the good, my husband had the fried chicken sandwich and tator tots and it was delicious. I had the blackened fish tacos and they didn't have much flavor. The second time we ate there for lunch we both had burgers and they were ok. Im glad I asked for it to be cooked medium because it was really pink I can't imagine if I asked for it medium rare. Some of the food has weird spices that seemed out of place. I tried a coworker's pulled pork and didn't like it at all. The biggest bone I have to pick with this place is the service. The servers were all nice and polite but they were terrible at their job. Multiple times during both meals they placed the wrong food or drink in front of the wrong person. It seemed they had no clue or system about what went where. I definitely would not have eaten at this place a second time but we were with a group and I was not in charge. Sticks at Pebble Beach is an elevated sports bar. You do not have to be staying on the property or live at Pebble Beach to visit for a meal. If you get a 17-Mile Drive ticket, you can even get reimbursed for that if you dine at a Pebble Beach restaurant. A friend of ours invited us for dinner. At Sticks, we sat outside. They had wonderful firepits to keep you warm and the service is friendly and prompt. If you are planning to go for summer, outside has little to no shade. It is best to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for dining out there. You're mostly in direct sun, which gets toasty. The meals were tasty. We started off with the calamari; lightly breaded and crisp, perfect. My boyfriend got the Bahn Mi sandwich and I got the California burger. We enjoyed these greatly. We had a couple of drinks and overall, really enjoyed our time here. We even got to see the Pebble Beach bag-piper while we ate our meals. Talk about cool! This place has an incredible view, and I loved watching the evening bag piper, so I wanted to love it. The food was reasonably priced for the location. But the food tasted completely average, and the service was really disappointing. I grabbed a drink at the bar before my meal and that was lovely. I happened to be sitting at a table with my husband, at a table next to four friends (separate reservation). My hubby and I ordered drinks and when they came back with the first drinks, ordered our new drinks and food. My friends' table ordered food about 10-15 minutes after us, received their food, and finished their meals before our food ever arrived. We didn't see our server for at least 30 minutes, or we would've ordered new drinks while waiting. When we eventually walked around to find him, he told us there was a large group order ahead of us and that's why it was taking so long. I'm fairly certain he forgot to place our order- otherwise I don't understand why my friends four meals (who ordered after) would arrive before ours. Celebrating my favorite uncles birthday (60) and my moms birthday (75)! My uncles had flown in to from GA so that he and my mom 'the bookends' he likes to say could celebrate together in his happy place. Monterey. Although after reading my review my mom insists her burger was delicious and the side salad that came with it had amazing dressing. So don't judge a book by it's cover my Momma reminds me. ;-) We had hummus platter, wings, calamari for apps. 4 stars Fish and chips as well as fish tacos had ample fish and were well prepared. The black beans with the fish tacos were excellent. 4 stars Clam chowder- 3 stars Oddly enough really good chili. We outstayed our welcome as they kinda had to verbally let us know to wrap it up and as I looked up I saw dinner crowd waiting for our tables all pushed together. We just had a great time and hadn't noticed. We brought a 2 cakes, they charged 3 dollars a person to cut it. I am totally not happy about my experience here. I've had appetizers here before after a round of golf. This time I went with my girlfriend after work to grab a bite for lunch. We were between here and Roy's. I was in golf attire and preferred to be nicer dressed for Roy's. We ate at Sticks where our reservation was for. We got a decent window seat inside. It was not very busy, maybe half full. So we order and nothing is saying wow eat me, to me. We started with the calamari, which could have been fried a tad longer, it was not as crisp as it should have been and had more of an oily taste to it. Maybe the oil wasn't hot enough. The oil coated the inside of my mouth. I ordered the California Burger, mistake.... My girlfriend ordered the mahi mahi burger. She asked for the Sriracha aioli on the side because she wasn't sure how spicy it may be. Said that three times on two different visits from our waitress. I asked that I have no lettuce, tomato, or red onion on mine and if I could add grilled onions. Somehow bacon jam kept coming up despite the CA burger having mashed avocado, jack cheese and bacon on it. Our waitress was confused by what I said, and then said I was making it too complicated and the cooking staff would not be happy with it being "really busy". I ordered fries with mine and tots for my friend. The fries were super salted, like line of salt on the fries. Tots did not arrive with the mahi mahi burger. Our waitress was no where to be found. Luckily a nice young gentleman came out, wish I would have got his name, but he was helpful. Brought out the tots and apologized for the sriracha aioli being on the mahi mahi burger. Asked for a side of the slaw without the aioli since the one on the burger was drenched in it. The mashed avocado on the CA burger was so heavily laddened with some sort of acid- bottled lemon juice? It overpowered the taste of the burger. Burger was well done, prefer a medium. It tasted blah for a $20+ burger. I literally ate half, should have stopped after the first bite but I smothered it in sriracha aioli which hid the bad taste. Our waitress never came to check on us until almost the very end. She was busy serving other tables. I think what I hate the most is when you get judged by your appearance. What table will give a better tip or spend more money... All patrons should be treated the same especially at the Pebble Beach resorts, they are set to a slightly higher standard because that is what is portrayed. Now we both ordered the impossible burger. It was uncanny how "real" the meat looked. I feel like I would have enjoyed the burger more without the sauce that came on it. It was just a very strong flavor and not my favorite. I would totally order it again but without that sauce and the peppers. The fries were great!
