There aren't a lot of coffee shops in Red River, so options are limited, but we stopped here on our last day in town. The shop is located in a repurposed train car, which is super cool! Not a ton of seating, but we grabbed a seat by the window and watched the snow fall while we waited for our drinks. We ordered the churro latte (flavored with cinnamon bun and mocha) and the Berry White (raspberry and white mocha). My husband really likes fruit flavors, so he really enjoyed the berry white, though it was a little too sweet for me. The churro latte was not as sweet, and wasn't too strongly flavored of cinnamon, so it was really good. We would come back next time we're in town.

The coffee shop is inside this cute little train car. Very quaint.

Stopped in this cute coffee shop both mornings we stayed in Red River. I ordered an oat milk lavender honey latte & my husband had the regular drip coffee. Both were excellent. Quick, friendly service. I would definitely recommend!

Cute and only coffee shop that was open during October & COVID ! It's a cute little stop to grab your coffee fuel and they even carry few limited breakfast items like muffins & burritos! Nice decor inside as well as a beautiful patio overlooking mountains to enjoy while sipping your drink ! The service is a bit slow , but the ladies are welcoming and great . The first day I almost missed them thinking they are close. Do check properly !!

Cute location that looks like a renovated rail car (this the name "steam?"). There's a wood burning stove in the dining area - very cool. We came in early on a Saturday and ordered a pour over and a mocha. The "pour over" looked to be a batch brew or pre-brewed (maybe?) but it was good - not the top of the line, but definitely better than the other options. My wife's mocha was exactly what she was looking for and very chocolate-forward. It looks like they sell grab and go savory items similar to T-bucks down the street. Reading other reviews, I was a bit concerned about the customer service, and although there was one team member sitting in the dining area when I walked in, she was quick to attend to guests. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and helpful. No complaints here. Give steam a try!

Lavender latte with a fantastic view out of the train car.

This coffee spot in Main Street is fantastic. The look and decor of this coffee spot is so unique. It feels like a break from the touristy vibe but also offers quality brews! I got a lavender latte and it's not overly sweet or "soapy" like I have had other places. My husband got an iced latte that the barista crafted and he loved it!

This coffee place is in a small little space on the main drag. The coffee is ok but there aren't many other coffee options in Red River. It's worth going to but the space is small.

Amazing little coffee shop in the heart of Red River!! The staff is professional, warm and very welcoming. Even met up with the owner who gave us a brief tour and the history of the property. Highly recommended!

Good coffee and conveniently located right at the base of the mountain. Only complaint is that it closes early. I like the mocha!

Our server, Chaniece, absolutely made the experience. I told her I wanted to order some of the most authentic Spanish dishes on the menu, and she came through perfectly. She was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed excited to help us experience the restaurant. If you have questions about the menu, ask for her recommendations--you won't be disappointed. My partner ordered Martin's Breakfast Burrito, and I had the huevos rancheros. Both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. Michael's Kitchen is only open Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., so plan accordingly. We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and had about a 30 minute wait. It was busy, but the wait was actually enjoyable because the restaurant has several little nooks filled with antiques and artwork by local artists. There was plenty to look at, and the time passed quickly. Taos has many wonderful mom and pop restaurants, but from what I learned during our visit, there are fewer locally owned restaurants serving traditional Spanish cuisine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try all of them, but I'm very happy we chose Michael's Kitchen. Between the authentic food the welcoming atmosphere and Chaniece's outstanding service, it was one of the highlights of our visit to Taos.
