Strong 4 stars. Hubs had the steak and eggs. I had a Denver-style omelet. Steak was good but a little fatty, hubs cleared everything else off the plate. Omelet was tasty and filling- slices of American cheese vs shreds was a little unexpected. A cherry on top of the cottage cheese. Literally. That's weirdness yall. But check out the bakery case. 100% the best part of the meal was the pine cone cinnamon role. I'd come back just for that.

Popular locally owned cafe with a wide ranging menu. The place is busy and only open for breakfast and lunch. We had a little wait to be seated and a longer wait to order. Kind of understandable given how busy they were. The Spanish part of the menu features classic New Mexican food but you can also get less spicy options. We had the combo plate and the chile rellenos. Both had good heat. Between the two sauces the green seems hotter while the red is meaty. Both come with sopapillas that we love.

This place recommended to us several times and all the recommendations were right! Great food and great service. We started by tasting samples of the red, green and vegetarian chile. They were delicious! I had a hard shell ground beef taco. I noticed that that the meat was very tender and the taco was not greasy at all. My sister had hash browns with chile and cheddar cheese and added a fried egg. Hash browns were cooked well, nice and crispy. We had giant sopaipillas with honey butter to end our meal. Absolutely delicious! Now I know why so many people recommended it.

In September, my wife, son and I spent 3 days in Taos. A friend of ours who used to live there highly recommended Michael's for breakfast, an institution in Taos. Sadly we ended going there on the day that we were departing on a Wednesday otherwise, we would have gone more than once. We arrived there at 9:30 am and we had to wait for 15 minutes for a table. Once we were seated, our server took our order promptly and the service was fast. My wife ordered a Bean and Cheese Christmas ( red and green Chile salsas) burrito, my son the Atole-Piñon Pancakes and I had the Blueberry Blintzes. The food is outstanding, their coffee is superb. On the way out my son bought one of their gigantic cinnamon roll for the road.

Michael's is a very great breakfast spot. I enjoyed the Martin's burrito; I had it Christmas (red and green chile). The chile was spicy which being native New Mexican I enjoyed because some places bland it down for tourists. The ambiance was very pleasant, the building itself is beautiful. Recommend if you're in Taos visiting. The service was great; Charlotte was attentive and friendly. 5-star service.

This is a solid breakfast stop in Taos, just be sure to arrive early if you don't want to stand in a long line. It was cozy and the service was fast. Everyone at our table enjoyed their dishes.

The hostess was extremely snarky. The food was below average and the prices were above. It's a very recommended spot but I am assuming that is only for 1 time tourists.

Michael's was a great dining experience! The staff was great: attentive, efficient and a place for locals and tourists alike. We had the juevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito. They were both outstanding. On the way out we grabbed an apple fritter and a lemon cheesecake pastry from the bakery.

For my combo plate, I had the beef taco with red chile and beef enchilada + tamale with green chile. Bother sauces were medium spicy and very tasty. The adjusted my wife's taco salad, swapping beans for beef. She really enjoyed it, taking a box home. The wait staff were attentive and kept the iced tea flowing. The place was very busy, yet things flowed nicely.

There was about a 30 minute wait when we arrived, but it honestly flew by since there are some fun little shops nearby to browse while you wait. They are also dog friendly on the outdoor patio, which we really appreciated! Just keep in mind that the wait for outdoor seating can be a bit longer. We ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast and huevos rancheros, and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were seasoned so well. I also tried the Maya hot chocolate, which was delicious, along with the sparkling cranberry juice. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we grabbed a few pastries from the front beforehand . They were all so good, but the savory goat cheese and tomato pastry was definitely a favorite. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the freshness and quality of the food. Between the atmosphere, great service, and delicious food, this was definitely a place we'd come back to!

Thought that was really thoughtful and great service. We started with the salsa, queso, guacamole, and a Caesar salad for appetizers and everything was delicious. A great way to kick off the meal. For the main course we both went with the steak fajitas. The steak was a little on the tough side, but overall still really good and heavily seasoned. The portion is generous too. One order could easily be split between two people. It comes with rice, beans, cheese, pico, and three tortillas. The restaurant itself is super charming. It's inside the historic Taos Inn and you can really feel the history in the space. The atmosphere alone makes the experience memorable. Would highly recommend checking out Doc Martin's if you're visiting Taos. Great service, great atmosphere, and a solid meal.

UP TO DATE REVIEW! March, 12th, 2026…read more Today, Thursday at 6:00pm, I arrived at the El Monte Sagrado living Resort and Spa. The architecture of this place is very distinctive to Taos and its aesthetics, so it was very welcoming in its nature. After checking in at the restaurant I was then seated very kindly at a table that was neatly displayed and arranged. Everything was clean and crisp making the physical experience comforting. Besides that, the real question is how is the food? My initial thought was how beautiful the food looked! It was visually creative but still refined for plating. Presentation wise, it was quite impeccable. I was faced with some seasonal dishes that were expertly curated for flavorful taste. The dishes nuanced smoothly with robust umami essences and delicate savory kicks! The experience of the food left all my sensations arresting. It was meticulously executed and left me very satisfied as a customer. Overall I had an immersive dining experience that would only lead to my recommendations to others. The other reviews really make this restaurant an understated luxury. Durring a previous visit I also had a brief but impactful experience with the chef, Cristina Martinez. She is as iconic as she sounds with her deep roots in New Mexico. From my personal intrest I found out that she attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and graduated with honors in 2006. The college heavily focuses on precision knife work, classic sauces, plating discipline, and traditional culinary terminology. You can tell that she puts love into the work she accomplishes and reflects authentic New Mexican family traditions while keeping things professional. I can not express how wonderful it was to meet her and know the generative mind behind all the transcendent dishes! I hope whoever reads this review finds it helpful and intuitive to your needs! your's truly Savannah Romero.
