This is hands down the best restaurant in Red River! My group and I tried pretty much every restaurant located in Downtown Red River (albeit not that many in the area). Service: The restaurant was struggling a bit with a busy evening, but they did not miss a beat when it came to service! They informed our group of 8 that things were going to take a bit longer, which was fine by us! They came by to check in on the group to make sure our drinks were flowing! I appreciated that the owners took the time to introduce themselves to every table, and even helped out bussing and delivering dishes when their servers were busy! The owners were so friendly and very passionate about the restaurant. You can tell by the quality of the dishes here. Food: The food was absolutely spectacular! I did not expect much coming here, but my mind was blown away! Each and every person in our group raved about the dish they ordered so I don't think you can go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu! For starters, we ordered the Brussels sprouts, and meatballs to share. For those in the group that were veggies-adverse, the Brussels sprouts were still a hit! The meatballs were so juicy, and flavorful. I'd order both dishes again. I ordered the smoked chicken quarter. The chicken was so tender and seasoned impeccably. The sweet potato puree was the star for me. My husband kept stealing some of the sweet potato puree from my plate! It was so good! I stole some of my husband's order of the meatloaf. It tasted so good...you cannot go wrong with that one either! Some of our group even went back here the next day to try their brunch menu!

Best restaurant in Red River, and it's not really close. Trust me, we tried nearly every single one this year. If I lived here, I'd be at this restaurant at least weekly. Everything we ordered was amazing. Brussels, meatballs, meatloaf ("streetloaf")... all so good. The owner came out and spoke to us as well - him and his wife were very pleasant. Some from our group even came back here the next day, because it was so good. They have special events on certain nights (live music, game night, etc) so check those out too, but even with no special event, this place is worth frequenting. Go now!

One of the best restaurants downtown if not the best. It kind of took us all by surprise being in a small town like this. The food and drinks were both excellent. They have daily and brunch specials. Both the owner and his wife were great! This place can get kind of swamped for their slightly small space. Definite place to stop by!

A lovely spot for a dinner! We went in with a large group and received excellent service. I especially loved meatballs and espresso martinis. In fact, this is one of the best espresso martinis I've had. The owner and his wife are lovely people who stopped by the table and chatted with us for a little. I loved hearing their story of opening their business. The staff, the menu, and the interior of this restaurant both were great and we felt very welcomed here! Some of our party returned there for lunch the next day while the rest of us were out for horseback riding.

Vibes immaculate! Food even better! Other reviews didn't mention how awesome it is for kids as well with a great area to play outside. Food came out quickly, and was absolutely delicious. Not even a question this was the best meal we had in Red River. Couldn't recommend this place more highly.

Amazing every single time. Every plate has amazing flavor and is cooked to perfection! We come here every time we are in town!! The beef short ribs are unmatched!!! By far our favorite restaurant in town.

Brussel Appetizer (with some grilled cheese for sharing from another plate) if you even remotely like brussel sprouts, go in!

Everything the table ordered was fantastic. Large portions, and full of flavor. Pricing and quality is excellent. Even with a full restaurant, service was attention and welcoming. The location, both inside and out, is gorgeous. Locals told us they've even hosted weddings. I can see why. A must stop for your next trip.

It was about a 15 minute wait to get a table on a very busy Saturday afternoon. I am bumping up my review since it was a dog-friendly restaurant. Our server, Arthur, graciously brought me more water for my dog and offered me a bowl even though I already had both. For starters I had a Whiskey Smash ($14.75). I enjoyed it. I sampled a taste from my brother's beer flight ($18). My mom's Desperado Mexi Lager also. They were mostly enjoyable. Red apple cider was probably something I would have on the front porch. For lunch I had the BBQ brisket sandwich ($12.50) with fries, pickles, and onions. They did not skimp on the meat. There was BBQ at the table which I added because the brisket was a bit flavorless. I chuckled when our server brought the mac and cheese out to my ultra picky nieces. He stated to my sister-in-law that it was in fact the Kraft-style mac, but it wasn't. I mean maybe he should learn what that means first of all. But second... Can you believe those kids are so picky that they didn't eat a single bite? Eight dollars per bowl with a side. Wow. My kids would starve the rest of the afternoon if their food smelled and tasted half way decent. Lol. I can almost hear the mutterings at my parenting style. Hey at least I drank my overpriced whiskey cocktail. Because our party was so large, automatic gratuity of 18% was added to our ticket. The women's restroom was small and mostly clean, but awkward entering and exiting with other women and girls crammed inside. I did not like how tables in our area were left untouched long after other patrons left. If I had my choice, I would probably opt for an alternative place next time. I was not that impressed by the staff's overall indifference to all the patrons. RATING BREAKDOWN (3 stars overall, bumped up because they were dog-friendly!) The fries were crispy and I really liked the "spicy" barbecue sauce. The service left a lot to be desired. When our food came out, something was missing from every plate. The runner seemed confused and lost when we asked about our remaining sides. The waiter had to ask someone if they had to-go cups for my 8 year old and the runners had to ask about barbecue sauce for our brisket . I really wanted to like this place, my husband and I have enjoyed their spirits at various restaurants in Taos, but we were very underwhelmed and felt it was very overpriced especially for lacking service.

Adorable (well, everything is adorable in Taos; it's the southwestern charm for sure!) but it's more than what its appearance says it all. You have to try their products and see for yourself. What I got me were a few bon bons and a chocolate torte (the whiskey kind). -Miso Caramel: is shaped like a mushroom. Even if you might not be a fan of miso based (everything), you should try these bon bons anyway as they don't taste like miso at all. I was quite shocked with this myself (well, I like miso soup; miso taste doesn't bother me at all. Even so, Miso chocolate candy was something I didn't know what to expect out of. That is why I am saying that I was surprised by it.) -New Mexico , Spicy: was also surprising. The kick in these tiny pieces was quite mighty and yet it was tolerable. -Whisky Torte: All sorts of organic ingredients are used to make these delightful tortes. Tortes tend to be a lot heavier than traditional cakes as their texture is that of fudge. And yet, that shouldn't be a reason for you to steer clear from it as this chocolatier perfected the torte in a way that it will not be too rich or heavy for your taste or stomach. At least that is what I thought when I tasted it. Another must-try item on their menu offerings. For its interior, it's mostly and simply grey on walls but this emits the "chicness" that doesn't overshadow the theme of its business. You should also pay attention to the ceilings and the floors. A careful attention to entertain the guests' eyes is seen throughout. Service was good. I first went here late in the afternoon (close to its closing time). I quickly glanced at each section of the store inside. The kind gentleman upfront wanted to assist me but after asking him if it was open tomorrow (it would be Sunday), he said yes to which I gave him my promise that I would be back tomorrow. The same man assisted me when I was back the very next day to make a purchase. Not sure if he remembered me or not. It's not chocolate bon bons or tortes you can enjoy at this store. The café offers tasting trios, mocha, chocolate mouse, ice cream, affogato, hot chocolate, and espresso and so on. This is a haven for chocolate fanatics.

We ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast and huevos rancheros, and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were seasoned so well. I also tried the Maya hot chocolate, which was delicious, along with the sparkling cranberry juice. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we grabbed a few pastries from the front beforehand . They were all so good, but the savory goat cheese and tomato pastry was definitely a favorite. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the freshness and quality of the food.
