Be careful when you get a quote from them. I had a quote for air duct clearning and dryer vent cleaning. I told them I had 4 units. They gave me a price. They showed up and had not put down 4 units. They then requoted the work at more than double the original price (and double what another provider quoted) and was unapologetic about it. Brouwer Brothers came out to remediate minimal water damage in my home that came from a slow leak. Each time the technicians came out to check on the drynness levels I was given different numbers....at one point I was told a 40 (or something like that) would indicate acceptable dryness levels and I was a 42--the next day I was told 91...all in all they stretched the drying process from an estimated 3 days to a week--I think to charge more money. In particular, Mr. Roberto Garcia, technician, was rude, disrespectful and yelled at me when I questioned the various readings he provided that changed from lower one day to higher the next day with no explanation. Maybe his treatment was based the company practice to try to extend service time to charge a higher price--but no customer should be treated with disrespect expecially when asking for infromation to understand the process and service being provided. It's been over 4 months since a fire in my condo displaced me. They have not yet begun any work on my condo. To be fair, I am not sure if the building insurance is at odds with this contractor. I've read reviews on their cleaning capabilities and they seem good. I believe they subcontract their plumbers, electricians and carpenters. I will update this review when they begin working and I will comment on the outcome It's been a year and I still have no electricity and plumbing. I was fed a lot crap. Brouwer Brothers was hired to clean my HVAC units by my condo Association, as they have a contract to provide the service as needed. After they allegedly cleaned my vents, I looked and the insides were still covered in mold. I sent a test in to a lab and came back with, on a scale of 1-4, 4X mold in my vents. After complaining again, one of the owners of the company came and took full responsibility. Promised to "make it right" ASAP and would cut the drywall away "a foot past the furthest sign of mold" to take care of the issue. A week later, I cannot get a hold of anyone, and my condo association tells me that not only are we still waiting on that work order, but they are only going to fix the HVAC unit and not the mold, the mold that grew from their lack of attention and negligence. I have no idea what is going on but am concerned about my health. I need to first fix my mold and then run for the condo board so we can take this contract away from these crooks. I would recommend Brendan Kelly at Servpro as a much more honest and reliable alternative. These pictures are all taken AFTER I paid Brouwer Brothers hundreds to clean my HVAC vents. Late February 2019, the pipes above my condo unit burst. Both my bathrooms were destroyed. Through my insurance, I contacted Brouwer brothers for the repairs. It was a 5-6 week job but Brouwer Brothers didn't "complete" the job until October 2019. I was displaced for 9 months. There was a lot of communication problems with the first project manager. There really shouldn't be this much arguing over repairs. He was eventually fired by Brouwer Bro's. October of 2019 they were done with the work. The 2nd project manager, Chris Bonomo couldn't be bothered to come the last day bc he had other jobs. Two weeks later, the toilet that they "repaired" leaked. And another month later the tub they installed couldn't be used because the drain pipe leaked and wasn't up to code. They used plastic joints on metal pipes. My insurance paid majority of the bill to Brouwer Bro's. Its now March 2020 and I'm getting a bill from Brouwer bro's for over $1900. I still have to come up with $1600 to fix the repairs that they repaired. I don't want to pay this $1900 bill nor do I feel like I need to. Chris tried to reach out to me for the bill. I tried speaking to Chris Bonomo but he was to busy swearing at me. read more

Had a fire in March, and It took 2+ months to go back into the apartment. In addition, we are still waiting for some things in the apt to get repaired. At the end of March, my girlfriend and I had a small fire in our kitchen where most of the damaged was caused by smoke. It was a very small fire that damaged just the kitchen, so we thought it was going to take perhaps 2-3 weeks to get everything to get painted and have new cabinets and appliances installed in our kitchen. Unfortunately, as you know it took more than 2 months to get back to the apartment. We came to check the apartment every week, and it was upsetting to see that things could have been done in even 1 week. However, this is not why I'm writing this review. We are still waiting for things to get repaired in our apartment. Things that didn't get done. They did such a terrible job painting our closet that we struggle to open some drawers. There is dripped paint EVERYWHERE. Thank goodness, we are just renting the apartment as that would be unacceptable. We used Brouwer bros to have all of our personal stuff cleaned too. Unfortunately, the cleaning wasn't a 5-star cleaning as I encountered some items to be dirty and boxes still uncleaned. In addition, one of my personal items arrived with a missing part. I'm still waiting for it to get replaced. It's been more than 5 months, so I'm not happy with the outcome. Nobody has called me about this personal item of mine. I heard the project manager quit during this process. I was able to work with the new project manager or whoever he is, and he is nice and all, but things aren't still done. read more

Brouwer Brothers was hired by my building to come do a mold inspection in my unit. The first time they arrived on time and explained the process they would need to do. They came back a second time and cut open some dry wall in my unit to see if mold was present. They cut open several holes and then used a camera phone to attempt to take a picture and this is how they determined "no mold" was present. They promised a written report to my building within 24 hours. Well, they had every excuse in the book as to why they couldn't send it and it took over two weeks which delayed any other work that I needed to have done in my unit. They even lied to me several times telling me they e-mailed it directly to me, (because they didnt have any of my personal contact information and only had the buildings) so they lied directly to me. *It gets better. Where he used his thorough examination process by his handy cell phone, another company found mold in the same places he "inspected" so if the building hadn't hired another company, they would have re-sealed my walls with the mold still in it. This is the part that really pissed me off. These guys are a mold company, but wrote a report claiming no mold was present, and another company determined my house was covered in it due to a leak in the garage below me and showed me the areas. We ended up taking our business to Alliance Environmental Control who I would recommend using instead of Brouwer Brothers. Wish I could write a nicer review, but this is alarming considering they remove mold and mold can be detrimental to your health. read more

We could not be more pleased with the work performed by the technicians. They were a pleasure to do business with. From the first call to Jennifer for an estimate to the guys that came out to perform the work it was top notch all the way. The technicians were so polite, wore face masks, they covered all our desks with plastic to protect them from what might fall (nothing did). Very clean and they performed a great job. We were referred this company after a house fire. Please do not use this company if you are already in a bad situation, they will just take advantage of you more. It started off with poor communication, Megan One of their "workers" failed to tell me an estimate of the pack out. It's been 4 months and I got the bill for the pack out but never an estimate that I requested. Turns out the pack out was 30 grand!!!!!! For a tiny 2 bedroom townhouse. They also didn't clean out the whole house, they took items that were larger and took more time to pack so they could charge more at the end. To prove this, there was multiple plastic containers that were emptied and left at our house with tons of other items. At their warehouse they had the same exact containers but only took some of them. This company will overcharge and screw you anyway that they can, please save yourself the struggles and go somewhere else. read more

We had a major loss a couple years ago. We own an old farmhouse, built before the Civil War, and we rent it out. We were between renters during a January cold snap, and that happened to be the time the furnace went out. The water pipes froze and burst -- then leaked all throughout the house -- it was a tremendous mess! Brouwer Brothers came out & did a complete job of demolition, mold remediation, and came back to paint after drywall was done. Brouwer brothers was hired by my condo association to dry out areas affected by flooding. They did a reasonable job, but communication and time line were terrible and unprofessional. They were late almost every time, once by over 24 hours. They called at 7.30 am asking if they could come at 8 or 8.30, only to not show up until 9.30, or 9 the following day. (!!) They also did not communicate which units they needed access to on a given day, expecting one person to have access to them all. read more

**********CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION**************** I worked for Brouwer Brothers STEAMATIC years ago, so to me it was a no brainier to call them when my family had a house fire. I'll start by saying it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life! The fire happened in September, against my better judgement I allowed them to convince me in November to move back in before the work was completed. Needless to say that by December some of the work they actually did was coming apart. In November the city I live in stopped work on the project because this company had NEVER obtained a permits to actually do the work. Now it's February and would you believe that the work is still not done. there's missing windows (literally windows with no glass, Tiles in the kitchen and bathroom coming up everywhere, the paint is pealing and cracking. They scratched up the newly refinished hardwood floors ( when they came back to fix it, their worker left his foot print in the new stain) There's trim missing. Shelves unfinished the ceiling is leaking there's water leaking from where pot lights were installed, They also claimed to have found asbestos, but they failed to report it to any of the local organization. No one knows how they disposed of it. My God enough is enough. I would have been better off doing the work myself. read more
