The service was friendly and attentive. I got the seafood noodles (medium) and the pan-seared dumplings. Food was really good but I got confused with the dumplings I wanted but regardless everything was delicious. The decor is similar to the other location but I like the baskets around. And it has plenty of space for people to sit. This location has a parking lot and has other retail and restaurant options. This place it's really good.

Good food, fresh items plus arrived pipping hot. We enjoyed the steamed chicken dumplings, vegetable bao buns and no spice-beef noodle soup. So good and for an extra treat, the sesame balls. Everything we ordered was delicious. We will definitely reorder from this great Chinese food eatery. Just wish the'd add wonton soup, my husband's fav!

This little corner restaurant is so cute!! You have to find street parking but after going around the block twice we got the best spot! We were greeted right as we walked in and found a nice high top table. Our eyes were big so we ordered a nice variety of items to share. Our server was very friendly and brought things out to us quickly! We were very pleased with how fast the food came out. Everything was a hit! My daughter did prefer the steamed dumplings over the pan seared because the pan seared were "too oily" for her but they were still delicious. The Zha Jiang noodles were a huge hit and my hubby scooped the bowl clean! The boba was also cooked perfectly. We will definitely make it a point to stop again when we are in the area!

Was craving some soup so thought of checking this place out. The menu online was outdated and was shocked that they had more things! Decided to try the chicken noodle soup and the seared bao bun. The chicken noodle soup said they have seared chicken but it felt like rotisserie chicken with all the skin on. (Attached a picture of skin just floating). The soup was ok, nothing to write home about. Was disappointed after the chicken being all not seared. The seared bao bun was ok. They were pretty fast with the order and the place seems chill.

We found this place looking for a dumpling restaurant close to Mount Juliet. This place is kind of hard to find and is not fancy on the inside, however, the food is great! The Pho had an excellent broth, very tasty. We also ordered dumplings, bao, popcorn chicken and a broth less beef noodle bowl. Everything we ordered was so good, all the flavors were excellent. We ordered in, sat at a high top table. Like I said, it's not anything fancy inside, but the employees were very nice and helped us pick the best things in the menu. Even the pineapple tea was great! I ordered it with very light sweetness and it was perfect. I definitely recommend this place and we will be back again.

Wow. This place was truly fantastic and merits a stop if you're in the mood for anything like dumplings or noodle soup. The soup itself was perfectly seasoned the meat big chunks and the steamed dumplings were ridiculous.

Surprisingly good from out of nowhere in TN. We were craving for some soup noodles after a round of golf at the Hermitage, in the freaking cold day, I mean literally in the 30 degree day. Pan seared dumplings, aka pot stickers - Pretty good Shanghai soup dumplings- not bad but dough is on the thick side. Beef noodle soup - on the salty side but not bad Zha Jiang noodle - not bad Shredded beef rice bowl - just ok Popcorn chicken- I am not a fan of popcorn chicken but not bad Hit the spot. Would definitely return if we ever visit Hermitage TN in the future.

I was looking for a place to eat after our cheer comp and saw this place and had to try it. We ordered the soup dumpling because my youngest loves those. It was flavorful and lots of soup in it. The pork and cabbage pan fried dumplings were also good. My favorite was the juicy pork bao. It just burst into flavors. This is definitely a spot that we will definitely come to when visiting.

Hubby is out of town so I treated myself to SteamBoys tonight! I had an iced pineapple fruit tea with fruit jelly-not too sweet and very refreshing! *you are able to choose your level of sweetness. I ordered seared pork buns-you get 2 in an order and that is plenty satisfying. Made to order, flavorful and fresh!

Wow! This menu is packed with satisfying flavor. Unctuous fluffy bao and delicious pan seared dumplings did not disappoint. We also had some drinks: Earl Grey milk tea and a Vietnamese coffee. The only sad thing is they do not serve the soup dumplings on take out orders, and that was the number 1 thing we wanted to try. The meat in the bao is in a big ball (beef and pork were the same), making them difficult to eat, but the flavor is delicious. Service was patient as I asked questions about the menu. The place has modern, simple decor. We look forward to trying more.

We came here after visiting the Hermitage. It's conveniently located a mile away and easy to find. The place is clean with quite extensive menu of authentic northern Chinese cooking. Service was quick. Love the Beef Noodle Bao Buns and Pan Fried Dumplingspanwith pork and cabbage filing. The Beef Noodle Soup is good. The seasoning is just right. Ask for the hot sauce on the side if you cannot stand the heat like me! Would be nice if the air conditioning can be stronger for a hot day like today when it's 90's outside read more

We were looking for a place to get boba and found Steamboys. Food is delicious and can't wait to come back. I normally eat vegetarian, but since it was our first time I ordered a pork and chicken option as well as veggie to compare. I was worried the veggie would not be as flavorful as the meat options, but nope! Packed full of flavor so I'll probably go vegetarian here from now on. Mango boba was delicious as well. read more

Had a great experience at Steam Boys this afternoon! The staff was very friendly and the environment was very delightful. The restaurant was very easy to find and has plenty of parking space shared with other stores. The food was AMAZING! My husband and I had the Beef Shank soup and accidentally ordered the large (thinking we could finish it) and slurped away! We also shared some beef bao and those were delicious. Sigh. Dream eatery for those from the coasts missing dim sum. Real soup dumplings! Boba! Bao! Service can be lackluster sometimes...a bit on the slow side for what I consider fast casual. However, everyone is always friendly and helpful. A little on the pricey side, but this is TN. Where else are you getting delicious dumplings? Definitely get the spicy bowl. Over the top yummy every single time. Now if only someone would open a legit chinese food take out spot.... Oh well, I have dumplings now. I'll live. If you've never had dumplings, don't worry. Great food. The steamed bao and the beef soup both had large portions. I'm usually not a fan of boba tea but I could have drank a gallon of the taro with cream cheese foam. The menu wasn't very big but the items are to the point. I'll be back to try the dumplings and get more bao. One criticism I have is the size of the dipping cup. The bao is big and the cup is tiny. How am I suppose to dip a great big bao in a tiny little cup? read more

Steam Boys is great addition to the Hermitage area. Offering authentic bao, dumplings and some soups. I picked up a to go order which I called ahead and they had ready in five minutes. The strip mall restaurant has an open and nice look. The bao was big and had a tasty shell and meat. The pork and cabbage dumplings were as good as I've had. They don't have a large menu, but what they do they do well. read more

The food was great, the spice level is definitely accurate as well so beware for all my spice sensitive folks out there. The cashier was kind and helpful while taking my order. This restaurant stole my credit card number when I accidentally left my card there. I got takeout there a couple times. The second time I accidentally left my card in the processor. (It didn't beep to notify me). The next day I discovered it missing and went to pick it up. A few days later mysterious little "test" charges started showing up. Tried takeout for the first time here. Pork belly rice was bland, no flavor. Pork belly meat was tender, just no/minimal taste. Also had the seared beef bao. More flavorful but was not "tender" beef. Was essentially a tiny (overcooked) hamburger patty in the middle of the bao bun. Takeout order was ready in less than 10 mins so may have been pre-made/sitting there...I dunno. read more

While it was tasty, I thought it would not stand up against any of the Asian cuisine I was used to eating in the San Gabriel Valley. Portion size is huge here, I mean they pack the containers to the brim. Food was also clearly cooked to order as it was still piping hot when I got it home and opened. Space inside is decorated as you would expect. They have a good size dining room with booths and tables, and even have a few seats at a small bar near the entry way. The place was clean, and well kept. Service was friendly and helpful from the phone to pick up. Overall, solid experience at China Cottage. Definitely worth adding to the rotation.

best asian restaurant in the area! wonderful bao and dumplings. you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. i highly recommend the pork & cabbage seared dumplings. the boba is amazing as well~ if you like less overbearingly sugary drinks, definitely order it less sweet. love their milk teas and specialty drinks too! sometimes the tapioca isn't a perfect texture but still chewy and delicious. super quick preparation and they bring the food to your table before you know it. the inside of the restaurant is great! super pretty and i loveeee the little bao illustrations they incorporate. definitely come here! read more

Tonight was our first time ever going to Steam Boys but it did not disappoint. We came in about an hour before close and we were greeted with a smile and quality service. The cashier(I didn't get their name) was super patient with us because we weren't sure what we wanted. I appreciate the staff being so sweet to us and we will definitely be back! I tried both the tofu noodle and soup dumplings, and they were incredible. The tofu noodle dish was perfectly balanced. The tofu was soft and flavorful, absorbing all the delicious sauces, while the noodles had the right amount of chewiness. The soup dumplings, though, were the star of the show! They need to cook their beef longer to make it tender. The website says that their beef in their beef noodle soup is "tender," It is not tender at all. It is so tough that I felt like my teeth were going to fall out. It made my jaw hurt so badly and I got a huge headache from it. Also, they overcharge on their rice dishes - for what they charge, they only give you just a few pieces of meat. Totally not worth it. read more

Came in for a quick lunch with my daughter. Very simple, clean and nice place. Staffs are friendly and take the time to explain the menus. I got the combo beef shank with a juice bao to share with my daughter. The meat was very good with plenty of flavors! Love their boba tea too ( not the best I had but this is pretty good for Nashville). Definitely come back to try the dumplings and the fried bao. read more
