The carpet was normally gray, but the stains made them look brown, especially in high traffic areas like the stairs and hallways. I reached out to several companies via Yelp and within minutes received this response from spotless carpet care, "Carpet cleaning consist of spot removal. We deodorize and we put a conditioning on it. then we rinse it with hot steam water. We scrub all the stairs. We scrub all the spots. If you don't scrub the spots and don't leave it sit for 20 minutes, the stains will reappear". Not having stains reappear was important. So I chose them. We scheduled for later that week with a flat rate of $220 for 4 bedrooms, stairs and 2 hallways. He texted a reminder the night before and texted again on his way. He got to work with pre treatment and then steam cleaning. After 90 minutes he was done and, the outcome was shockingly good. The carpet wasn't brown anymore. The outcome was so much better than when the prior owners had the carpets cleaned. Also no purfumy or musty wet dog smells. Just clean. The price was $220 as quoted and I paid via Venmo because he said he was having an issue with credit card processing. Then they texted me a few days later to ask if the carpets were still good and I was happy to report that they were still looking good. I waited a couple weeks to write this review, just to make sure the stains didn't return and things are still looking good. I'll be using this company again.

Recently, however, I noticed a slight upward buckling in the form of a 'ridge' that ran the length of the room so I called S&G to inquire about having the carpet re-stretched. Within just a few days, an appointment was scheduled, and S&G Customer Service Manager Tim Pettit arrived on February 3, 2026, to evaluate the condition and offer a recommendation. Tim arrived precisely on time and my wife and I took an immediate liking to his highly personable nature. Tim conducted a comprehensive examination of the carpet and concurred that re-stretching was in order. Additionally, he set in motion the process for two pieces of relatively heavy/bulky furniture (a large sofa and a large desk) to be removed from and returned to the room once the procedure was complete (for a very reasonable fee). Tim Pettit left a great impression on both of us and proved to be a friendly, knowledgeable, considerate, intuitive, professional with excellent communicative skills and great humor.
