I had a phone call with Ben to figure out if my laptop could be repaired. He was able to access my computer remotely and change a few settings, but nothing fixed the issue. We then were able to talk about the costs and benefits of bringing the laptop in for physical diagnostics and potential repair. When it became clear that doing so would likely cost more than a new laptop, he recommended a laptop currently on sale (which I'm using to type this now!), with no benefit or commission to him. Ben was friendly, honest, knowledgeable. He saved me hundreds on the new laptop, and I'm guessing another several hundred in pursuing likely unsuccessful repairs. Excellent customer service! Ben was available to help me troubleshoot my PC on the phone (as we are in covid-19 times), but I couldn't figure it out. So I brought it by his place, he grabbed it took a look at it saw that it was fine and maybe it was one of my cables and gave me a new cable to try. When I tried to pay him he said no charge. I've been using Stedman Computer Solutions for over a year now and will continue to use them for all my computer needs. I'm not the best when it comes to computers but SCS answered and guided me through all the questions I had. They were always available when I needed them whether it be in person or through remote access of my computer while on the phone with them (which is awesome!) SCS also makes it easy for me to get all my needs for my computer. Instead of going to a big computer store, which is intimidating to me, I just call SCS and tell them what it is I need and they will take care of it for me. SCS is my own little bit of IT heaven! I learned about SCS from a friend and have used SCS for the last five years for all of my IT and computer needs. After dragging my feet and using a frustrating hunk of junk I finally bit the bullet and decided to invest in a system that would meet my business and home needs. I called SCS and we discussed all of my immediate AND future needs so my purchase wasn't going to be outdated or incompatible with my business growth estimations. I took the solutions SCS proposed and I mulled over it for a few days. And yes, of course I looked around at all the usual retail stores -we all do it ,right? We think we can get a better deal somewhere else until we realize that the purchase made at retail stores is a bunch of junk and in the end we regret the hours of frustration spent and profanities spat trying to get the "machine" to perform like it SHOULD- after all it is a computer so why is asking it to print such a cause for protest every darn time?!? Needless to say, I went with SCS' solutions for my system and have NEVER had ANY of the issues I had in the past with those "hunk of junk" systems. Not only did I get a computer system custom built and designed for me (with only the programs installed on it that I wanted as well as a warranty) but along with my pretty, shiny, fast and light as a feather new BFF- I got the personal service equivalent to what I can only describe as "My Very Own Kick Ass IT Department"!!!! In the RARE occasion my system is having an "Attack of the Clones" moment, I simply make one phone call to SCS and someone actually HELPS me. I don't have to wait on the line to be transferred to an outsourced person who simply can't help me. I get a very competent tech who can REMOTELY ACCESS my computer while I am on the phone with them!!! They can actually see and FIX my problem right then and there. No longer do I have to wait for a geek to arrive at my front door to tell me that they simply can't help me. The occasion that my system required an "in person" tune up appointment, SCS was able to travel to my office quickly and solve my problems in a timely manner. All in all, I need to spend my precious time on ventures where I can generate revenue for my business- not monkeying around with a "hunk o junk" system and so I leave my IT needs to SCS and I always get high quality products and service- I have never been more productive or happier!! read more
