EXCELLENT!!! Terry installed 3 large chandliers,  bedroom ceiling fan, new spot light in family room nook and fixed our wonky 4 way light  switch. He was on time, courteous and professional and would clean area when job was complete. Very disappointing. After weeks of calling the office and leaving messages without a return call, I finally was able to make an appointment on 9/2 for an arrival of 12-1 pm. I was there waiting until after 1 with no call or apology for being late. I let it go. Terry Steele explained that he could not do the work that day as the work would take 3 hours and he would have to block out that much time next week. After NO follow up, I went physically to see Terry Steele about scheduling. He made an appt for 11:45 on 9/15 (2 weeks after he promised the first time) He later claimed to tell me 11:30-2:30 as an arrival time. BS!!! I confirmed 3 times before I left him as I ALWAYS do! Never was a 3 hour window mentioned. I waited and waited. Thinking Terry forgot I called his office and cell phone but got no answer or reply. Unwilling to waist the whole day I left. Terry Steele arrived at 1:15. He thought keeping me waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes without calling was normal. He actually blamed me for misunderstanding and expected me to be available from 11:30-2:30 and also 3 hours to do the work. 6 hours total. The arrogance of service contractors regarding appointments is overwhelming. I have never kept clients waiting for even 5 minutes without calling. Terry was neither prompt or professional, and the job of adding a 220 outlet seemed over his head. read more

Had 6 can lights installed and 2 dimmer switches to control. Make sure to get an estimate in writing before he starts as the price can change on how he feels..... Be prepared to do hours of cleanup after the install as he does none and no plastic drop cloth will be used. Good luck!! read more

I have used Terry for several years. He does all my electrical work and that of my daughters! Steele Electric is a unique company and one of the few if not only company in the area that will do minor things like installing ceiling fans, a new outlet, a new light fixture with wiring, etc. He also fixes issues with old houses! Terry (Steele Electric) is fantastic. His prices are reasonable, his skills are fantastic. He can do anything you need and small jobs that other companies wont' touch are his specialty! He will give you fixed price quotes on his work! He has installed fans for me on a couple of occasions. One installation required going up into the attic and running wire and installing a box for the second fan we wanted in our master bedroom. All done quickly at a very reasonable price. Today I had him swap out three fans and replace two others with standard light fixtures. He even fixed a fan in my patio that had a loose blade and helped me replace an under the sink light that I didn't know how to get at the light bulb! All for a very reasonable price! I own a second home in Elk Grove but I live in Suisun, so I had to drive to the house. I wanted to get some other estimates from him. I had made an appointment to meet with Terry but he arrived early for the appointment. Luckily for me, my son was still there to let him in & so Terry was able to do the work & finish it before I arrived !!! He was very professional & had a great sense of humor but MOST importantly he explained what he had to do & answered all my questions about what I wanted to have done. I contacted Terry's business because I was having a new wall oven installed. However, to my dismay the wires behind the old wall oven were seriously burnt and not safe to install the new oven. The installers left the new oven with me and have me instructions to have an electrician fix the wiring. I called Steele Electric and got Terry's wife while he was on a job. She was very helpful and had me send her a picture of my wall oven's burnt wires. Within minutes, she texted me further questions that Terry had asked. He gave me two possibilities for fixing the wires. One would have cost hundreds of dollars. I told them I had scheduled another electrician also and I would get back to them. The other electrical company's tech showed up this morning. Right off, I had my reservations about his proficiency. He could not figure out the amps of the new oven and if I might need a new circuit breaker also. I was looking on line for the manufacturer's specifications to see if I could find this info. This tech immediately suggested the most expensive solution. I paid him the $99.00 call and told him to send me a quote. Immediately, I called Terry and he fit me in today so that he could come out and look over the wiring. He determined he could fix the wiring as there was plenty of extra inside the wall. He had it all fixed in 15 minutes. He even looked over the oven and found the sticker with the rating which led to the amps listed in the manufacturer's booklet My current breaker met the needs of the new oven. My wiring was fixed for less than $150. I received the estimate from the other electrical company for $1,100 this evening. Wow, what a difference an experienced electrician can make! We called around town requesting for bids and quotes from various electricians for multiple electrical projects in our house. Steele Electric gave us the best deal, lower cost than most, and supplied the recess lights/cans/materials for our needs. He does not haul old materials nor does he re-plaster, but we're okay with that as we were informed ahead of time and the price with reasonable. We can re-plaster and repaint the ceiling ourselves as we find that to be more affordable and very doable on our end and budget due to replacing the old large drop-box lighting and frame with recess lights.
