I have been here many times.still looks the same. Went for dinner. They aways have fresh items onthere salad bar. I did not car for the beef barly soup.it as rather tastless, grease or faty broth. They always have fresh bread and there were 2 kinds of crackers for the soup. My husband had prime rib. I had a special. Shrimp, chicken pasta spinach. I did have to add salt. Black pepper, grated cheese and crushed red pepper to make it better. But even so, I would of recommend it. Fresh. The shrimp was perfect not over cooked same as the chicken and pasta. Delish. It was lightly battered but even that help up to the next day. Leftovers went down well. Tasted like more! I think they called it some sort of florenten dish. I only had a cold beer so I can not speak of any of the other choices that they may have had. I went with the thoughts of trying some German food but I was happy with my dinner chioice. This is a place off the beaten path. Well seasoned, has been around for many years. Use you GPS and head toward Sodus. Enjoy

Steger Haus is a real gem! All 3 of us had the broiled scallops, and they were PERFECTLY cooked! They were delicious! The salad bar was fresh, and the service was excellent. They seemed busy, but our meals were timely and hot. Will definitely return!

Great food and a good price. Their prime rib is really special. A little out of the way, but worth the drive.

Our server was absolutely on top of all of that mess and dealt with it I think really good!! We got our food in a timely manner! And it was actually really good food the fish was amazing and was cooked perfectly! I think the fries definitely need a lot of work, cmon French fries! Especially in upstate where the fish fries are good! You need good fries The inside ambience was kind of usual upstate new work wood work cute interior it was cute inside! What made my review stars go up is the bartender Claire that worked upstairs, she was so on top everything regardless of how busy it was, she literally had it down to a T she was quick and personable and just got the job done right by far the best employee I came across there she rocked and got the job done right! The lake views are beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect backdrop for a casual meal. One unique touch I loved was that they provide paper bags to cover your food when you're eating outside, a clever way to keep the seagulls from swooping down and stealing your meal! Inside, it's exactly what you'd expect from a traditional drive-in. The staff was friendly, efficient, and kept the line moving quickly. Plenty of parking with some space across the street too. Cleanish restrooms. One thing to know if you have food allergies, specifically a shellfish allergy, and they use shared fryers, so I couldn't safely order anything fried. I really appreciated their honesty and transparency. Between the friendly service, gorgeous waterfront location, and nostalgic atmosphere, Rudy's is a classic place that's easy to recommend.

"Great" is always relative to the palate using the word. After 80 years on the shore of Lake…read moreOntario, Rudy's carries a lot of lore opened by Rudy Gadziala and his wife Marie in 1946, now run by third-generation owner Jason Livesey, famous for its Texas hot sauce and the founder's old line about owning a "million dollar hot dog stand." Online reviews are all over the map, so we wanted to see for ourselves. We visited recently with our 7- and 8-year-old nephews, hoping to soak up the tradition. The reality was more transactional. The hostess took our order while sipping her own beverage likely why we were shorted an order of fries. Nice enough, but not especially professional or welcoming. The whole operation moves fast; the staff is determined and task-focused rather than friendly. You get a buzzer and wait. The interior was renovated in 2025, and it shows but not in a good way. The bright white walls and green banquettes feel sterile, more fast-casual chain than 80-year-old lakeside institution. In modernizing, they stripped out whatever nostalgia the old space had and put nothing back. Some local artwork, vintage photos, or lake history on those fresh white walls would go a long way. The food: the boys enjoyed their cheeseburgers, and the fries are genuinely good. The fish sandwich was generously sized but bland the batter had little flavor, and the tartar sauce didn't rescue it. For a place with an 80-year reputation built on fish, I expected more. The lobster mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. The tab: four drinks, two cheeseburgers with fries, lobster mac, and a fish sandwich with fries came to nearly $70 steep for a lakeside stand where fries alone run $5.25. The setting is lovely and the legacy is real. But sometimes generational ownership slips down a slick slope and making money starts to matter more than making memories.

Lauren was our server and was super friendly, though she was apparently new-ish, which showed in some of our orders not being quite right. Everything was also pretty slow and the timing of dishes coming out wasn't uniform. Pizza was fine, but could've been hotter and a bit more crisp on the crust. Wings were good, but not the type we ordered. The half order of nachos was crazy big and just ok, flavor-wise. With limited options at the point, it's fine, but temper your expectations.

The restaurant is known for its wood-fired menu that blends American cuisine with creative twists and influences. My wife and I live somewhat close to Sodus Point and had been meaning to go out to take a little day trip. Her co-workers actually gave her a gift card for Six50, so we decided it'd be a perfect opportunity to go out for a nice day and try out the restaurant. The reviews were concerning, but hey, we weren't paying for it anyway. We ended up there around 1PM on a Saturday. Sodus Point is very much a touristy-beach-boat town, the streets are lined with restaurants and historical landmarks while the beach and bay surrounds the little village. While there were plenty of people around, there was still plenty of close, open, free parking on the streets, and we were able to park only a couple minute walk from the restaurant. There were only a couple occupied tables and we were sat pretty immediately at an outside table when we walked in, although we were told we'd have to wait a couple minutes until our server got back to the restaurant, but we didn't ask exactly what that meant. When our server did show, which wasn't long after, we already had our order decided. One of Six50s things is that everything is wood fired and there are no deep fryers at the restaurant - they even have a sign out front saying so - so we chose an order of their wood fired chicken wings in their "dynamic duo" sauce, a combination of buffalo and garlic parmesan. My wife ordered a Mount Vesuvius pizza, while I chose the Adriano pizza. Our wings came out first relatively quickly, and while they were cooked very well, the sauce had 0 flavor. Most of it slipped right off the wings onto the plate, but even when we rolled them around, the flavor just wasn't there. They say everything including their sauces are home made, so while the wing sauce wasn't great, we did enjoy their (assuming) home made bleu cheese. We waited for a long time for our pizzas, around another 40 minutes AFTER we received our wings. At a busy restaurant, wouldn't have thought anything of it, but there were maybe 3 other tables sat with us in the restaurant, so it seemed like a long time. The pizzas were surprisingly not bad - we felt they had both pros and cons. The pros being there were plenty of toppings, good flavor, and one pizza is probably enough for 2 people. The cons being, while there were plenty of toppings, there was very little cheese. That, and both my wife and I had slices that were completely burned from the wood fire, and didn't even have any toppings on them anymore. Our server was friendly and attentive when we needed it. We had a $65 gift card and only owed $5 after it for 2 pizzas, an order of wings, and a fancy drink for my wife, and we brought home pretty much an entire third pizza form the left overs, so not a bad value. My only other complaints were that there was a broken lock on the one person men's room door, which they were aware of because they had a sign on it saying to please knock first, and while there's beautiful views on the outside patio of the bay, it'd be a much nicer experience out there if they cleaned it. The barrier that's up between the tables and the bay was just absolutely COVERED in cobwebs, as were the string of lights they had hung overhead. Overall, it was not as bad as the other reviews had me believing it would be, but it also didn't impress us either. It was an edible, mostly enjoyable meal, but nothing that really stood out and makes me want to return.
