This was my first time purchasing a pre-owned Rolex online without seeing it in person, so I was a bit nervous. I searched for hours looking for the watch I wanted until I found it at Stein Diamonds, for a price lower than anywhere else I had seen. I did some research on Stein Diamonds and found almost without exception glowing reviews on multiple sites. I called and talked with Joseph about the watch I was interested in, and asked about changing out the band from a Jubilee to an Oyster. It was no issue for him, he gave me a great price, and gave me all the information I needed. I purchased the watch on Monday, he said he would make sure I received it on Friday. I live on the other side of the country, it arrived Friday just like he had said! Throughout the week Joseph kept me up to date with the process and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. He was friendly and professional, dealing with him really helped put my mind at ease. He came through with everything he had promised, in my experience it's rare to find people like this. The watch came, and it truly looks even better than in the pictures! I'm not exaggerating when I say if they had told me it was a brand new watch never having been worn, I'd believe it. I sent in a Rolex to sell, and when they called with the apprasel, low balled me by $400. When I asked for it to be sent back due to no deal, I was then told there was a buyer for it at that moment. The purchased price went to what I wanted and I waqs told a check would be sent. That was 3 weeks ago and I have heard there was a back up in the accounting, sent to a bad address and now they sent it on Wed, 2/12/13. If I don't receive it by Tuesday, I will be calling the LA police to see if I can get my watch back. I will keep this board up to date read more

This is a sale for $160,000 Patek Philippe watch. They sent me the wire instructions and then waited 2 full business days and part of a Sunday to contact me even though their customer service was open from like 5AM to 9PM 7 days a week. Contact me that the $160,000 watch I bought was now $210,000. They waited until 4:57PM Tuesday to notify me. That would give me 2 full business days to have wired the money and.........then they would be in control and call all the shots. It is my belief that if this was legit they would have contacted me immediately on Sunday the 2nd of May. Instead they waited enough time that imo they were hoping the transfer was made and too late to stop. They figured wrong. Especially when on their site they said they have communications from 5AM! Did they answer any other emails at that time? Why not answer one for $160,000 unless you just wanted to delay and have the funds wired? That is why I believe 100% that they are just crooks that got caught and after the comments by others, well then you decide. Stein Diamonds could have answered the email I sent on Sunday. They chose not to. They could have answered the email anytime on Monday. They chose not to answer on Monday. They could have answered any time during business hours on Tuesday. they chose to wait until the banks were closed on Tuesday to contact me for the FIRST time. That would have given me 2 full days to make the wire and the timing WREAKS of a premeditated motive. It the deteriorated and they unloaded the F-BOMB on me like I was the bad guy for trying to make a $160,000 purchase. I was shopping for a three stone diamond ring for my wife for our 25th anniversary. I chose Stein based on internet reviews and location. I made an appointment with Paris (she was awesome) and with her expert help, I chose a stone and setting exceeding five figures. Needless to say, I was nervous, but Paris and staff took the time to explain the "four c's" and helped me pick a a fantastic stone and setting. I had done my homework and knew that she was being honest and forthcoming with all info. There were no surprises whatsoever. Communication, service and commitment was excellent and they did what they said they'd do. What more can you ask for. Stein Diamonds sold me a watch that had scratches on it already. claims that it was caused by me, when I only tried the watch (cartier) on once. Cartier watches do not scratch from trying them on. Would not allow us to return the item and hung up the phone on us several times. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and POOR PRODUCT. BEWARE before you spent $$$ there. I have had a terrible experience in dealing with Stein Diamonds. I recently bought a Movado watch for my dad's 80th birthday. I purchased the watch on a Wednesday and had it overnight shipped so that it would arrive in time for his party over the weekend. That did not happen. They allowed me to pay for the overnight shipping, but didn't have the item in stock. I called 6 times to follow up to determine when they would have it in stock and each time a representative said they would contact me back. Nobody ever called. Three weeks later, I got confirmation that it had shipped out on a MOnday and should arrive on Wednesday. It did not arrive. I followed up and nobody seems to have any idea where the item is and whether it has been shipped. While I did receive a good price for the watch, the hassle of working with this company has NOT been worth it. I would highly advise looking elsewhere for items, particularly if you would like them delivered to you in a timely manner. It is all very disappointing and my dad is STILL waiting for his watch. read more

I visited various Jewelers looking for someone who could make a custom engagement ring with a family heirloom ruby as a center stone. I was looking for two matching very white and sparkly rectangular shaped radiant cut diamonds to flank my ruby. Almost every jeweler I visited in downtown tried to tell me it was too hard to find matching radiant cut stones and tried to push other shaped stones on me that were not at all what I was looking for and were also much smaller than what I was looking for. I just recieved my finished rings and my breath was literally taken away when I saw the final results.
