My favorite place in Nashua. Always great drinks (not too sure why one would come here if they don't want an alcoholic beverage) and the small plates are perfect for sharing and being able to have a taste of many different things and also (again) great when drinking cocktails. Every once in awhile the service may be slower than usual but it has never been unbearable. Outdoor seating is awesome but we also love to sit at the bar and that makes for very attentive service! I would say if you aren't a drinker (or are pregnant or whatever) maybe don't come here? But if you want a nice night out for a date or to meet up with friends I don't think there is a better place in downtown Nashua. read more

My wife and I have been dining at Stella Blu for years, and we've really enjoyed every experience up until last night. My wife made a reservation and asked to sit inside because she thought it was a little cold out. When we arrived, they ignored the request and sat us outside anyway. I thought it would be ok because they had several patio heaters fired up, but they sat us as far away from them as possible, which was a little weird to me. The waitress came over to take our drink order and was disgusted when we didn't order alcohol. I felt compelled to tell her that my wife is 16 weeks pregnant and I wasn't going to drink without her. We ordered 3 small plates to start off with and they came pretty quickly. Our waitress went MIA and I noticed she was sitting down at a table talking to a couple who had been there for a while. We sat there for over 15 minutes before she turned around and noticed we were done. She sat there talking for a few more minutes and came over to check on us. We ordered 3 more small plates and she went over and sat back down with the same couple. Most of the other tables were being tended to and their servers seemed really attentive. We sat there freezing while we waited for our waitress to take a break from her conversation and do her job. It took over 20 minutes for our buffalo chicken dip plate to come, and it was the manager who noticed we were sitting there twiddling our thumbs. He motioned to our waitress and she ran out back to check on it right before the runner brought it to our table. At this point we had been there for 90 minutes to consume 6 small plates of food and zero alcoholic beverages. It was ridiculous. To top it all off, the manager sat a party of 4 people behind us and he dragged over one of those patio heaters and fired it up for them. Now I understand that we could have just spoken up about these things, but that's really not the point. We go out to dinner for the experience. We go out to dinner because we want someone to take care of us. We expect the host to care that we are comfortable. We expect the server to be genuinely attentive. we expect the manager to have a firm grasp on the operation. To be honest with you, the dessert is what we both looked forward to the most, but after 90 minutes we just didn't want to be there any longer. The manager once again noticed we were not being tended to and he sent our waitress over. She said that she would get us our check right away and disappeared. I kid you not...she came out of the restaurant and realized she forgot out check....not once but twice. Needless to say, the whole experience was a nightmare from start to finish. I am not perfect, and I generally believe in a 2nd chance, but too many things went wrong, and with all the restaurant choices out there...we will not be going back to Stella Blu. read more

Dinner, Wednesday night. American Tapas. Excellent if you want to sample many things in one sitting! Location/Atmosphere: Located on a main thoroughfare, the bar was full of business professionals and sitting at about every other table were unique groups of people, including children of about age 10. We sat right at the front window, reminiscent of a stylish restaurant off the streets of NY - except cleaner. Target audience: I'd say the food is good for all solid-food eaters. The atmosphere, must depend on the night, I say I would have felt comfortable bringing my 2.5 year old here because she's fairly behaved. But ideally it was great for a friend-gathering or a date. Time Required: 1-1.5 hours when sat without a wait and a moderately seated dining room. Pre-Requisites: Come with your sharing heart! Tapas - Small Spanish savory dishes, typically served with drinks at a bar. You order a few, and share a lot! Ask the waiter! We informed him we had never been there, and never had tapas, and he explained the whole thing, including that we should start with a few, then order more until we are no longer hungry. Food/Service: Excellent place to practice portion control, one thing we lack here in America! Italian, Aisian, Latin and American appetizer plates. Fusion style foods: Pesto mozzarella waffle fries. Tender scallops with saffron & gouda rice. Hanger steak (Ooh so delicious!) with udon noodles. Fried calamari. Pulled pork (Yum!) on jalapeno cheddar cornbread. Lobster macaroni & cheese. Creme brulee with blueberries and a strawberry. Server was incredibly attentive, friendly and helpful. Food for the money: I'd average the price to be about $11 per tapas. They are small portions (appetizers) Slightly pricey for the area, but acceptable. You can estimate about $30 per person after all is said and done (more if you have cocktails or beer). Culinary Integrity Awareness: The establishment was very clean, and there were no "hot spots" on food indicating the use of "chef mic" (the microwave). The lobster (Lobster mac n cheese) and scallops were fresh tasting and tender. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience and I would definitely visit again! We always order at least one thing off of a chef's special menu, so it's worth the visit just to see what's on special now! read more

I've had soooo many yummy drinks and plates at Stella before and after the new owners took over. It was amazing before but the new owners really took the decor to the next level. It's a cute smaller restaurant with live music on the weekends. The espresso martini is one of my faves here. So many great options but a few of my faves are the shrimp & grits, buffalo chicken dip with yummy fried pita and the Stella fries. You really can't go wrong and if Elissa makes your drink you're in luck because she's the best. Make a reservation on the weekends because you never know. They take reservations through open table so it couldn't be easier. read more

If you like overpaying for small portions, this place is for you! Sorry to be a downer but I don't really understand the hype here. I mean the food is decent but I need to order two plates at least to get a meal and then I am paying like $25 bucks to eat dinner when I could have got a steak elsewhere. OMG... I Just moved back to NH from FL and have been looking for a place I can come after work for a nice atmosphere, cocktail and appetizer... Well, I just found it!!! Stella Blu is no joke. Atmosphere is soft and although it was mostly couples, it is a quality crowd. Drinks were AMAZING! I had 1 espresso martini and then switched to my favorite, Orange vodka cosmo. Both were ON-POINT! Bigger glasses than I am used to coming from FL, where a tiny glass of anything is 15-20$. I am so happy I checked this place out. This is my favorite restaurant in downtown Nashua and we have many very good restaurants downtown. I think I like it best because it has a warm ambience and I'm very comfortable there, whether that's sitting at the bar solo (which I don't do in very many restaurants, by the way), dining with girlfriends, or out on a date. Plus I like trying several bite-size dishes with their tapa selection. The servers/bartenders are always smiling, courteous, and helpful with the menu. Service is not always super fast but I find I can catch their eye when need be. I was in recently for their special menu they were trying out for the Fall Feast Week and their winter salad with warm butternut squash was devine but I don't know if it made it to their regular menu or not. Other dishes that I've loved are the Pulled Pork, Coconut Shrimp, Seared Scallops, Beef Short Rib, and Arancini (little risotto balls). Be warned the prices are not for the faint of heart or lightweight wallets. I'm not a big eater but dining solo I usually order a glass of wine and 3 separate tapa dishes. My meal usually comes close to $40 with tip. I am willing to pay that, however, for enticing morsels and a quiet, upscale atmosphere. read more

Not sure what took us so long to try this place. We know people that eat here but always ended up at our regular places every time we went downtown. We got there on a Saturday as soon as they opened and sat at the bar. I'm not even sure where to start. The drinks were excellent, food was great and even had the bartender pick a plate or two for us. We tried the wings, eggplant, dumplings/pot stickers and the list goes on. For me the highlight was the shrimp and grits, may have been the best I've had since the last time we were in New Orleans. Definitely coming back once we can. read more

Stella's is our favorite spot to grab a great wine and dinner when we want to stay local. They always have great music on the weekends and create a perfect date night environment. Gluten Free: Their staff is well trained on what is and is not GF as well as a dedicated menu. Their "lava cake" is our favorite Gluten Free dessert in town. read more

Great little spot off the Main Street but just around the corner. Made reservations and had a window seat. The food and drinks were delicious. I love that the dishes are small so you can try different dishes at the same time. I split the Arancini a deep fried stuffed risotto which had a nice texture and flavor. Next was the short rib ravioli which came in a brandy mushroom cream sauce-that could have been a full meal. Delicious. Finally I ordered the Sweet and Salty Hawaiian, 2 tiny Wagyu burgers (I couldn't tell the difference between Wagyu and other types of hamburger). The sauce was sweet and complimented the burger. My daughter and I went out for dinner to celebrate a new pair of fabulous shoes. As this was our first time here I asked what their tapas were like since everyone's are different and my daughter has spent a lot of time in Barcelona. Tapas here might be a bit larger than you find in Spain but small enough that you should defiantly order a few. My daughter is vegetarian, she had no trouble at all ordering 3 different plates with additional options. I had the spanish meatballs and calamari. The meatballs were so amazing, there is a bit of spice to it and the meatballs themselves are incredibly tender. The calamari was so good there is no way I can go back and not order them. They were spicy and sweet and tender. Service was fantastic, the waitress was so nice. There was some fun drinks on the menu and some local beers. Overall I am looking forward to going back. I just don't get all the 4 and 5 stars for this place. Pleasant wait and bar staff with a decent menu on paper, but the execution falls short to say the least. Seared scallops 2.5/5 we could literally smell them as soon as they were put down in front of us and not in a good way. Brussel sprouts 2/5 undercooked with no distinct flavor. Disappointing knowing how easy they are to cook WITH flavor. Fish tacos (seared tuna) - NO. Just NO. Eggplant Rollatini 2/5 frozen eggplant smothered in sauce and cheese, served tapas style for $8. I get that there is not a lot to choose from in Nashua in terms of good restaurants, but why hype up a place that would never make in an area with a lot of options in outstanding food and service? I love coming to Stella Blu when I'm taking myself out for the night. It's got an inviting ambiance and a nice bar. The drinks are usually pretty good and change with the season. The food is always really good, but the portions are not necessarily made for sharing since they're pretty small. The bartenders are nice, but not always super attentive. That's fine because I'm pretty low maintenance, it's just something to consider. read more
